Chapter 654: Chapter 543 World Crow_3

They existed as individual cases, but a large flock was different. Every large flock possessed a stable structure and inheritance. It was adaptable to the Abyss, could expand through reproduction, and could already be considered a part of the Hell Ecosystem.

Therefore, before they become a true flock, you must be careful. Don’t let them stay too long in abnormal areas or states. That includes situations like last night—you shouldn’t have let them fight. Although their individual resistance is strong, as a flock, they are still too immature. If they can’t adapt, they will suffer great damage, the Director of Affairs said, while Huai Shi took notes.

This included the methods of breeding the Crow Flock, important precautions, risks to be avoided, and even possible ways of strengthening them. Although Huai Shi couldn’t use most of these—such as how to avoid epidemics and Curses—it made it more convenient for him to systematically understand the Abyssal Tribes.

Huai Shi had almost filled a small notebook when he finally stopped taking notes.

Finally, he solemnly asked, ”Director of Affairs, how far do you think they are from becoming a true flock?”

The Director of Affairs fell into deep thought.

”There’s quite a bit of academic research on this subject, but not many established examples to reference. Bird Clans, especially those like ravens with an affinity for negative Source Substance, are already quite rare, so there isn’t much related research. Your Legion has also undergone a special Source Material Transformation, so there’s even less precedent to draw from.”

After contemplating, the Director of Affairs slowly said, ”However, the large flocks we know of today all possess some common traits. For instance, they might have been recognized and blessed by a Ruler, integrated with some sort of Disaster Miracle, or have completely dominated a domain of Hell. I think if you have no leads, you can start by exploring these three aspects.”

At this point, he meaningfully patted Huai Shi’s shoulder. ”You see, now is a good opportunity!”

After speaking, without waiting for Huai Shi to react, he left with his hands clasped behind his back, leaving Huai Shi standing there, perplexed.

It took him a long time to come to his senses.

Wait a minute, isn’t this just making me a tool all over again?!

The three characteristics the Director of Affairs just mentioned... The first one: being recognized and blessed by a Ruler. The Dream Cage has already taken care of that. Sheltered by the remnants of the former Dream World Ruler, they’ve already undergone Source Material Transformation. That’s much stronger than some superficial recognition and blessing that costs nothing.

The second: integration with some kind of Disaster Miracle—in other words, being born with Stigmata. This could also be achieved by Soloist’s power. Currently, all Ravens are my subordinate Legion; except for the nine Candle-Holding Crows, the rest are all Substitute Yin Souls.

As long as I painstakingly nourish them with Soloist’s Source Substance, I can change their attributes fundamentally, little by little.

All that’s left is to occupy a domain of Hell...

And what do you know, isn’t this a coincidence? Right in front of me is a Depth Nine Hell waiting to be pioneered!

The old are always craftier, aren’t they? Afraid the ’tool’ won’t do the work, so he even dangles a carrot in front of me... But with the method laid out before me, I have to give it a try.

As long as ’giving it a try’ doesn’t mean ’trying and dying’...

He stroked his chin, starting to ponder his grand Abyssal enterprise of spreading ravens throughout the world.

It seemed, perhaps... this might actually have some potential?
