Chapter 683: Chapter 564 Making Friends_2

”Sorry, your teacher has been sold by the Great Grandmaster—who has absolutely no conscience—and thrown over to the other side to be a captive. But don’t worry, they’ll definitely have a harder time dealing with him than we did...”

He simply couldn’t say such words.

Under the teenage girl’s anxious gaze, his expression became increasingly complex; he subconsciously avoided Yuan Yuan’s gaze. It wasn’t until Yuan Yuan sensed something was amiss, stepped forward, and asked again, ”Mr. Raymond, where did the teacher go?”

”...”

After a brief silence, Raymond, with his head bowed, stammered, ”Your teacher... he... he’s gone to a faraway place...”

Silence descended abruptly.

He felt as though he might have said the wrong thing.

Raymond tried to make amends. He quickly turned around, picked up the things Huai Shi had left on the co-pilot’s seat, and handed them to Yuan Yuan, saying, ”This was left by Huai Shi.”

Yuan Yuan stood there, stunned.

She took it absentmindedly, looked down at the Helmet in her hands, and when she turned it over, she saw the peach-pink pig doodle in the corner. A wave of disbelief washed over her.

She remembered that doodle.

It was something the teacher had casually drawn during a break, using her marker pen. At the time, the teacher had joked about drawing one for her and Little Nineteen in a few days.

But now Yuan Yuan realized, so suddenly, that she might not be able to wait for that man to return...

In the quiet, she slowly squatted to the ground, clutching the Helmet tightly. Unable to hold back her tears, she burst out crying.

Meanwhile, Raymond stood beside her, at a loss.

Wait, had she misunderstood something?

「. . .」

「Three days after Huai Shi had been ’killed in action’.」

In the base of the Ivy League, at the entrance to the sixth sub-level, Liz passed the security check, lifted her wrist, displaying the QR code projected by the Stigma.

”Access A-level, login name Liz.”

The blonde teenage girl said, ”I wish to enter the dungeon to interrogate prisoner A01.”

Behind the desk, the recorder confirmed her access, and the door slowly opened.

Looking up at Liz’s expressionless face, he looked somewhat surprised.

”The High Priest is going down too?” he sighed. ”It seems to be really bustling these days... After my shift, I might as well go down and have a look.”

”Hmm?”

Liz sensed something was off, her eyebrows furrowing, but ultimately she didn’t ask anything and instead turned and entered the elevator. It carried her downward.

She passed through multiple checkpoints, entering the most dangerous prison.

Then, the door opened in front of him.

An uneasy voice came from the end of the queue ahead.

”Mr. Huai Shi, I’ve been feeling breathless lately, dizzy and panicky for no apparent reason. That’s not a serious problem, right?”

Then, a warm, gentle, trustworthy voice asked, ”Does this happen even when you’re resting?”

”Occasionally.”

”And when you’re alone?”

”Yes.”

”It could be claustrophobia. If it’s in the early stages, it’s manageable, but if left unattended for too long, it may worsen and deepen, affecting your physical health. You probably have tendencies of anorexia by now, right?”

”Yes, that’s correct. I eat very little.”

The sound of writing came from the end of the long line, from inside the cell. Soon, a note was torn off and handed out through the window. ”Here’s a preliminary diagnosis. After your shift, you can go to the Ivy League infirmary to get some medicine. Make sure to follow the medical advice, or else you don’t want to end up with depression in Hell, do you?”

The Guard who took the note was suddenly thrilled and nodded eagerly, ”Thank you, Mr. Huai Shi.”

”You’re welcome, it was nothing.”

The man in the cage smiled, then raised his voice, ”Next.”

”HMPH.”

Seeing him acting so arrogantly in his cell, Liz couldn’t help but snort coldly. She raised her hand, pushed aside the nuisance in front of her, and strode forward.

”Don’t cut in... line.”

The guard she pushed aside looked up. Upon seeing Liz, his face immediately stiffened. Soon, all the guards who had been slacking off during work hours meekly moved to the corner.

Liz stepped forward, standing outside the cage.

She looked at Huai Shi, who appeared radiant and at ease inside.

It seemed as if he were on vacation, relaxed and leisurely, without any self-awareness of being a prisoner.

He even had a desk, which he had somehow managed to get placed inside.

And a pen!

”Didn’t I say not to give any sharp objects to prisoners!” Liz frowned, turning back to scold them. ”What exactly are you doing? Aren’t you afraid this bastard will pierce your throats!”

”I must point out that’s an insult to the trust and bond between us!” Huai Shi declared before anyone else could speak, his tone suddenly serious. ”These guards have been quite nice to me, willing to chat with this captive, persuading me to surrender to the Ivy League. Not only have they not withheld any of my food, but they even provided me with a pen to write! As a classical music teacher with morals and culture, would I be so ungrateful as to use these items as weapons to harm them?”

At his words, the surrounding guards nodded repeatedly, their expressions clearly showing they believed such a good person like Mr. Huai Shi would never do anything so outrageous. This left Liz’s scalp tingling.

Had these bastards been brainwashed?

Or was there some other problem?

Did they have no sense of caution left at all!

Liz studied Huai Shi in the cage and couldn’t help but let out a scoff. ”You seem to be doing quite well for yourself, making so many friends.”
