Chapter 653: Chapter 543 Worldwide Mourning_2

”We will support you silently from behind, cheering for you!”

Incredible!

Seeing Huai Shi rolling his eyes, the Director of Affairs awkwardly smiled. ”Just joking, don’t be nervous... I thought that’s how you idol circles talk.”

What are you, stalker fans that popped out of nowhere!

Huai Shi covered his face and sighed.

”Please be assured, whether it is manpower or material resources, the Iron Crystal Throne will give you the utmost support. Moreover, you will only be responsible for commanding and executing. There’s no need for you to charge to the forefront.

The specific plan might have to wait until the research on the sub-control center is completed. However, before then, there are still many things we can help you with.”

After a moment of contemplation, the Director of Affairs suddenly asked, ”Do you mind if I take a look at the swarm you’ve recruited?”

”That bunch of rats?” Huai Shi asked.

”No, the ones in the cages,” the Director of Affairs said with a smile. ”Before I was in charge of miscellaneous tasks on the ship, I was also a scholar focused on Border creatures and Hell Swarms. Soloist’s Sky’s Command is something I might be able to help with.”

Huai Shi naturally had no objection.

Huai Shi gestured with a thought, and a rather divine-looking Raven jumped out from the Buried Sacred Place as a relay, alighting on Huai Shi’s arm, flapping its wings and letting out two excited CAWS.

The Director of Affairs adjusted his monocle, lifted his arm, and whistled twice at the Raven.

The Raven glanced at Huai Shi and, seeing he had no objection, obediently hopped onto the Director of Affairs’ arm, allowing him to check its wings and bones.

”Quite rare,” the Director of Affairs mused, squinting as he examined it carefully. ”The death energy is very pure, and it’s quite close to nature. It must have been breeding in a very stable Hell environment for over a dozen generations, right? Besides the influence of your Stigma, its body also shows traces of a considerably high-ranked Source Material Transformation... This attribute... is it Dreamland? How strange...”

After looking for some time, he raised his head and asked, ”Has their clan been blessed by a Crowned from the Dream World? If not for Soloist’s restrictions, it wouldn’t be strange for them to suddenly evolve into nightmares.”

”Ahaha, probably,” Huai Shi said with an awkward smile, diverting the topic.

He certainly couldn’t say they lived in cages made from the remains of a Rotten Dream every day, could he? Who knows if people would even believe that.

”For Soloist, they are indeed an excellent clan. Congratulations, Mr. Huai Shi,” the Director of Affairs said after a brief inspection, politely cradling the Raven to return it.

”Did you find anything?” Huai Shi asked.

”Innately special, well-developed, and its Source Substance has also undergone a high-level Source Material Transformation. As for problems, there are almost none,” the Director of Affairs pondered for a moment, then seriously added, ”But in reality, that in itself is the problem.”

”Hmm?” Huai Shi was puzzled.

”It’s like this: if they were in a slightly worse condition, nurturing them to this level would have likely already allowed them to reach the threshold of a Hell Swarm. But because their individual quality is just too superior, this hurdle has become harder to overcome. Do you understand?”

After a moment of thought, the Director of Affairs explained further, ”Look, it’s like those card games young people play nowadays, where they cultivate little Elves. If it’s an Elf that’s innately weaker, it tends to advance more easily compared to other Elves—”

”Even among Hell Swarms, the differences between Rat-men and Gargoyles are immense.

A squad of Rat-men might not even be able to defeat a single Gargoyle.

Even a fully armed Dead Black Corps facing a Gargoyle on the battlefield can only hope to defeat it through a direct confrontation and attrition. Without prior preparation, if a Gargoyle were to flap its wings and fly away, they could only watch helplessly.”

”Even if they are all Hell Swarms, their strength can vary greatly, and it’s not uncommon to see all sorts of outrageous situations—from various orders and species, special Hell Swarms exist. Some are terrifyingly powerful, while others are virtually unnoticed.

Under the influence of Soloist’s Sky’s Command, your Legion has already separated from its original clan and become a new breed of Abyssal Creatures.

But their exceptional individual quality makes it even more challenging for them to undergo Metamorphosis compared to ordinary Hell Clans. Their potential is simply too outstanding, making it even more difficult for them to reach their limit.”

At this point, the Director of Affairs’ expression grew serious. ”This stage is the most dangerous. Before becoming a Hell Swarm, if overly brutal training methods are used, it could cause them to mutate and degenerate into Erosion species. At that time, even Soloist’s own Stigma might shatter under the backlash from Sky’s Command. You must be especially careful about this.”

”Oh, okay. Please continue,” Huai Shi urged.

Fortunate to have the chance to consult an expert, Huai Shi had already taken out his notebook and started to jot down key points.

He had done a lot of preparation beforehand, reading plenty of books, but many questions remained unresolved. In fact, the more he read, the more questions arose. Now that the Director of Affairs was kindly offering help, Huai Shi naturally wanted to seize the opportunity to ask and understand everything fully.

”So...” Huai Shi began after recording a section, looking up to ask, ”is there any difference between Erosion species and Hell Clans?”

”Hmm, if we are to speak of a decisive difference, it would be stability,” the Director of Affairs elaborated. ”Among the hundreds of thousands of different Erosion species we have discovered, not a single one is identical or even similar. They are all Mutated Creatures that arose after being affected by the sediments of the Abyss. They harbor various flaws in their bodies, cannot be replicated, and often struggle to survive for long.”
