Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

But it was just delivering a midnight snack upstairs, how did things become this serious?

Evelyn Yates guiltily lowered her head.

”Butler Kent, do you know the rules here? She’s an outsider and doesn’t understand, and you let her fool around?”

His cold gaze swept around the room, indifferent expression: ”Since the rules are broken, then accept the punishment. You know what to do.”

Joshua Hughes’ indifferent voice spoke coldly, making the snowy night even more chilling to the heart.

”Joshua, don’t be like this.” Evelyn Yates tugged at his arm, intending to act coquettishly, but was frightened still by his gloomy eyes.

She knew the trouble today was caused by her, and if she didn’t come forward to help the housekeeper and the servants out, her authority in the Hughes Family would be even less.

But it seemed Joshua Hughes wasn’t giving her any face at all.

A few household servants walked out from the back, holding long whips, standing strong and lined up in front.

Evelyn Yates shivered, looking at the cold and stern man beside her.

”Joshua, let’s just forget about today. The baby wouldn’t want to see such a scene either.”

Evelyn Yates pulled at Joshua Hughes’ sleeve, thinking if she couldn’t move him, the flesh in her belly should have some weight.

Just consider it their child pleading with him today, he should give her a way out.

”Is this the person you found for me?” Joshua Hughes glanced at the woman still shaking on the ground, alike in greed and ignorance.

”Joshua, she’s still young and doesn’t understand. But she’s very obedient, she’ll listen to you. I just thought since my body isn’t convenient now, it’s good to have someone at home to tend to you.”

Evelyn Yates spoke cautiously, not sure if Joshua Hughes wanted this Little Emma or not.

But it seemed this fool provoked him, for his expression was cold and terrifying.

”Still very clean?” Joshua Hughes’ thin lips pressed into a line, looking at Evelyn Yates with a hint of playfulness.

”Then I should thank you for your generosity.”

Joshua Hughes’ eyes fixated on her, making her heart inexplicably beat faster.

”This is my duty, Joshua. As long as you’re happy, I’m willing to do anything for you.” Evelyn Yates thought he understood her intentions, lowered her head excitedly, not seeing the flash of bloodthirsty cruelty in Joshua Hughes’ eyes.

Like an animal being skinned alive.

The nurse stared in horror at him, incredulous, trembling, thinking this man was more terrifying than the devil.

Joshua Hughes had a faint, indifferent smile at the corners of his mouth, holding the whip, a trace of cruelty flashed in his eyes, ignoring the woman’s cries, muttering as if talking to himself: ”She really is a virgin.”

Beside him, a maid was holding a silver carved washbasin, another maid holding a tray with a snow-white towel on it.

Evelyn Yates looked at the woman on the floor shivering in pain, unable to believe Joshua Hughes was so cold-blooded.

But he does have feelings, she clearly saw his tenderness in his eyes when holding Avery Jane.

Yet he used the most dreadful method to take away a woman’s first time, such humiliation would be unforgettable for a woman.

After washing his hands in the silver basin, he picked up the towel to wipe, sat back down on the sofa.

”This is the punishment someone who broke into my room should receive, Butler Kent, what about you? Since when does the Hughes Family get dictated by an outsider?”

The previous actions obviously weren’t enough to ease the malice in his chest.

Evelyn Yates’ face increasingly difficult to look at. His repeated mention of ’outsider,’ in his eyes, she was just an outsider, even the flesh in her belly too?

”I didn’t do my job well, please punish me according to the family rules, Young Master,” the housekeeper said calmly, without making much defense for himself.

”Very well, hope you can take those twenty lashes.”

Just as Joshua Hughes was about to handle things one by one, a woman’s voice suddenly broke through the tense atmosphere.

”What are you doing?”

Avery Jane couldn’t believe the scene in front of her, just now the piercing screams had startled her, quickly tidying her clothes, she rushed down, only to see such a bloody and unbearable scene.

The young girl, terrified, bit back her sobs, looking utterly pitiful.

”Nothing much.”

Joshua Hughes shrugged, answering nonchalantly.

Avery Jane glanced at the coiled whip in the servant’s hand, the handle stained with blood.

Avery Jane took a step back, unable to believe the scene before her, the man’s wickedness beyond human language.

Her small foot stepped back on the floor out of fear, Joshua Hughes frowned, walked forward, pulling her to sit on another sofa: ”Dare not wear shoes even when you’re afraid of the cold?”

His large hand enveloped her small, jade-like foot, indeed icy cold from the sole.

Evelyn Yates watched the scene in disbelief, the tenderness Joshua Hughes never showed, once again laid bare...
