Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”You’re thinking about how to avoid carrying my child, aren’t you?” Joshua Hughes looked at her with eyes as dark as the deep sea.

”Of course.”

Avery Jane had no intention of hiding her thoughts; there was no need to in front of this man.

Her clear eyes met his sharp gaze directly, without flinching, without hiding.

The man stepped on his luxurious suit pants, reached out to pinch her chin, his deep dark pupils narrowing as if he wanted to crush her will, sneering: ”You underestimate my abilities.”

”Disgusting.”

His words were clearly suggestive, making her blush involuntarily.

”Don’t have any ideas or make any resistance, it’s all useless. What I, Joshua Hughes, want, I’ve always gotten since I was young. Unless I willingly let you go, you have no chance. Be good and give me a little one, just stay by my side.”

His tone was slow, the voice low and pleasant.

But in Avery Jane’s ears, it was like the agony of lingchi, the grip on her chin turned into a gentle caress on her cheek. She truly was beautiful, always making him feel insatiable...

Avery Jane’s face turned pale as she watched this man slowly approach her. His words were like a saw, sawing away her last bit of hope.

Avery Jane could almost see her bleeding heart.

How could this be, if she had a child, she would be his nameless lover for life.

No love, no warmth, no dreams, unable to live a steady life. She had promised Wenyard Cooper, holding his bloodied body, she had sworn an oath.

If he were gone, she would live well on his behalf, to see everything he hadn’t seen, feel everything he hadn’t felt. Her child was to be named Little Wenyard.

Yet all of this, all her beliefs in living, were easily destroyed by a few words from this man, leaving a scene of devastation...

”From now on, you’ll have someone follow you wherever you go.”

Joshua Hughes lightly stroked her face, looking at her crystal-like eyes, wondering when those eyes would ever hold his presence.

”How could you? I refuse.”

Avery Jane widened her eyes at him, this man was truly terrifying.

Even the little bit of space she had for freedom, he wanted to take away.

She could almost imagine those several black-clad bodyguards following her like phantoms, dragging her life into a monotonous state.

”Why not? You’ll gradually get used to it.”

His words carried an undeniable command, with supreme authority.

”What gives you the right to have people follow me, what gives you the right to interfere with my freedom?”

Avery Jane’s eyes burned with anger, staring fiercely at Joshua Hughes. If her gaze were knives, Joshua would likely be riddled with wounds.

”What gives me the right? Because you are now Michael Hughes’s woman, because I am Joshua Hughes.”

His hand moved down her cheek to grasp her shoulder with a slight force, making Avery Jane shudder with pain.

Her furious gaze infuriated him, gripping her shoulder as he said word by word: ”Do you think I don’t know what you’re planning? If you dare to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine, I’ll make sure you never leave this bed until you’re pregnant. Even when you’re pregnant, you’ll stay in bed, lying there until you give birth. I’ll have the best doctor to deliver your baby. How about that, Avery Jane? Do you want a few people to follow you, or stay in this bed until you’ve given birth?”

His words bore no hint of jest, but after he finished speaking, Avery Jane felt nauseous, sickened.

Such a life, she didn’t need to imagine to know it would be like hell.

And this twisted, terrifying man would truly carry out his threats, his eyes bore certainty.

The overwhelming danger, mixed with the scent of alcohol, rendered Avery Jane like a trapped animal, unable to escape, only able to watch Joshua Hughes’s increasingly terrifying devouring gaze.

”You’re insane, I’m leaving you, I’m leaving you.”

If Wenyard knew about this, he wouldn’t let her endure such humiliation for him, not at all.

”Avery Jane, take back your words.” Hearing her start to protest to leave, his heart felt as if pricked by needles, not fatal yet intensely painful.
