Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

Xie Ning’s eyes curved into a smile as she looked at him. ”So, I’ll take it?”

This RV was a full size larger than her previous one and even had a solar power system installed on the roof.

Just a few glances were enough for Xie Ning to tell how much care Xiao Gu had put into preparing this vehicle.

Her boyfriend was truly wonderful to her.

”It’s a gift for you,” Gu Chen said with a smile, taking her hand. ”Seeing as your boyfriend is trying so hard to make you happy, can you do him a favor and just forget about those idiots?”

”Please don’t associate those people with your boyfriend. It’s a huge blow to my image as a brilliant, wise man.”

Xie Ning pressed her lips together, trying not to smile. ”Okay.”

Pleased, Gu Chen accompanied his girlfriend on a tour around the processing plant. They picked out some replacement parts and materials, which she stored away in her Space.

”Let’s have dinner together tonight. Grandma is making braised lamb.”

”Okay.” Gu Chen agreed with a smile and drove Xie Ning back to the entrance of the villa.

The two of them parked and got out. Gu Chen looked up and saw Aunt Song standing at the villa’s entrance, talking face-to-face with a tall woman with her curly hair pinned up.

From the back, she looked like a young woman.

”Ningning, that person talking to Aunt Song...”

Before Gu Chen could finish, Xie Ning strode forward, rudely grabbed the woman, and jerked her backward. ”What are you doing here?”

The woman, unsteady on her high heels after being yanked by Xie Ning, swayed violently.

She stumbled back several steps, only managing to steady herself by bracing a hand against the wall.

”What? Here to show off?” Xie Ning stared at the woman with a cold smirk and shoved her again, pushing her away from the villa. ”You seem to be at the wrong house. Dr. Xie doesn’t live here. Go out the gate, turn right, and keep walking.”

Pushed twice by Xie Ning, Kang Yunru looked rather disheveled.

She quickly clutched the plush shawl draped over her shoulders. Her gaze fell on Xie Ning, and she gave a cautious smile. ”You... you must be the Old Xie Family’s daughter, Ningning?”

Xie Ning gave her a cold look, her eyes scanning her up and down. ”What? Haven’t managed to get pregnant with Xie Xuezheng’s son yet? Heh, you don’t seem to be doing so well this time around. You’d better work harder. How else will you secure your status through a son?”

”You? You?” Kang Yunru acted as if she were terrified by Xie Ning, stumbling back two steps. She clutched her shawl tightly and spoke with a trembling voice, ”How can you say that? Ningning, do you have some sort of misunderstanding about us?”

”What the hell do you think you are? You think you can call me Ningning? A lowly wretch, a homewrecker who destroys other people’s families—do you think you’re worthy of even saying my name?”

Seeing her daughter charge forward to hit the woman, Song You’ai was startled and quickly grabbed her.

”Xiao Gu, Xiao Gu, get over here!” Song You’ai waved frantically at Gu Chen. ”Take Ningning back inside first.”

Gu Chen quickly jogged over, pulled his furious girlfriend to him, and tried to placate her. ”Ningning, let’s go back inside first.”

”Ms. Song, you really mustn’t misunderstand.” Kang Yunru’s eyes reddened with hurt. ”Old Xie has been tirelessly searching for you and your daughter this whole time. It’s all my fault. The few Superpower Teams I found weren’t very capable, so we were never able to get in touch with you.”

”But no one can deny Old Xie’s sincerity. Please, don’t misunderstand him, okay? Ningning is still young. Could you please not say bad things about her father in front of her?”

”It’s really not good for them. It will only make the misunderstanding between father and daughter grow deeper.”

”Yesterday, I saw Old Xie go home, sighing to himself... It was just so...”

’This is bad,’ Gu Chen thought.

Sure enough, the next second, his girlfriend flung his hand away and shot forward like a fierce little leopardess.

Gu Chen had no time to grab his girlfriend.

Song You’ai froze for a second and also failed to pull her back in time. She could only watch as her daughter burst out and landed a vicious kick on Kang Yunru.

Kang Yunru hadn’t even finished speaking before she was sent flying.

Xie Ning was too fast. No one could stop her.

By the time the two at the door could react, Xie Ning had already knocked Kang Yunru to the ground and delivered two sharp slaps, one with each hand.

”Oh my, oh my goodness!” Not far off, Wei Zhengtong, who had rushed over after hearing the commotion, cried out nervously.

Xie Xuezheng was completely stunned. He stood there, dumbfounded, watching from a distance as his own daughter furiously assaulted his female assistant, looking as if she were beating the woman to death.

Kang Yunru truly hadn’t expected that Xie Ning would dare to attack her right in front of the grand villa, with so many people watching.

The girl’s kicks landed one after another, making her entire lower back feel like it was about to give out.

At the same time, Feng Lijian and his group—towing along several clueless rich kids and carrying a pile of things to apologize with—also stood numbly in the snow, staring dumbfounded at the scene unfolding not far away.

Xie Ning sent Kang Yunru tumbling forward with another kick.

Kang Yunru scrambled and rolled through the snow, leaving a long trail of blood. She looked up, seemed to spot Wei Zhengtong and Xie Xuezheng, and began crawling frantically toward them, howling for help all the way.

Xie Ning brought her foot down hard on Kang Yunru’s back again, and everyone clearly heard a crisp CRACK!

Just as Xie Xuezheng was about to step forward, several long, sharp spikes shot out from between his daughter’s fingers and pressed hard against the back of Kang Yunru’s neck. She roared furiously, ”I dare anyone to come closer!”

The snowy ground fell utterly silent.

The onlookers stood frozen like a circle of wooden statues, no one daring to take another step forward.

Xie Ning stared coldly at Xie Xuezheng, her voice low and chilling as she spoke, word by word. ”Xie Xuezheng, if I want to kill your precious little mistress, it would only take me a second.”

”Believe it or not, I could kill her right here, right now, and no one would dare do a thing to me.”

”And you still dare to let her show her face in front of me? You dare let her come before my mother and run her mouth with all that bullshit?”

Xie Ning viciously kicked Kang Yunru in the stomach, her eyes terrifying and filled with hatred. ”What the hell do you people think you are?”

”Do you think you can still hurt me, sting me, and drive me insane with jealousy like you did in the last... like you did before?”

”In your dreams!!!” Xie Ning delivered another kick, stomping hard on Kang Yunru’s torso.

The onlookers all clearly heard the horrifying sound of a bone cracking, followed by a bloodcurdling scream that pierced the air.

This time, even Song You’ai was so frightened she broke out in a cold sweat. She scrambled over and tightly hugged her out-of-control daughter, waving frantically at Xie Xuezheng and screaming, ”Get out! Get out right now! Get the hell out of my sight!”

’It was all Xie Xuezheng’s fault. All his and that woman Kang Yunru’s fault.’

’If they hadn’t come looking for them, Ningning never would have lost control like this.’

Xie Xuezheng was shocked, furious, anxious, and frustrated all at once. He kept trying to explain, ”I didn’t tell her to come here! It wasn’t me! Ningning, please, listen to your father, let me explain.”

”Miss Kang isn’t some mistress! Dad has nothing to do with her!”

”Get out!!!” Fiercely protective of her child, Song You’ai completely lost her temper.
