Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Absorbing the heavenly treasure he had obtained from the Heavens Faith Sect that had come in the shape of a common tree root, he found the overall quality of the heavenly treasure of a far different quality compared to the ones he had absorbed in the past. Not because the overall benefits from absorbing it was less, but instead because the difficulty of absorbing the heavenly treasure obtained through the ascension realm tower was far more difficult compared to the ones he had obtained before. Taking over two weeks to slowly refine and absorb before he finally had the chance to move around again and check the cloud plaza to see if the things sold there had changed.

Only taking a single look at his internal situation before moving out of the secluded cultivation spot. Not taking any more time to examine his internal situation, as the only thing that had changed compared to before he absorbed the heavenly treasure was the overall size of the landmass within his dantian and the spiritual sea that surrounded it. Overall, he was now around halfway through the Middle Stage of the Land Creation Realm after he had absorbed the tree root shaped heavenly treasure. Needing another three such heavenly treasures to break through to the Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm.

Along with the fact that he had managed find a heavenly treasure on the twenty seventh floor of the ascension realm tower, he now felt that it was only a matter of time before he broke through to the Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm, as for the Peak Stage of the Land Creation Realm… That was a matter for the future after he officially reached the Late Stage of the Land Creation and had to start worrying about it.

For now, he didn’t intend to rush back to the twenty seventh floor and continuously challenge it to get his hands on more heavenly treasures or attempt to challenge the still unknown twenty eighth floor of the tower. Instead, he began to slowly make his way through the cloud plaza looking through the different artifacts, weapons and other useful treasures that had refreshed during his short seclusion. Having by now understood that the things within the cloud plaza at the very least refreshed within two weeks.

Starting his journey through the empty plaza by visiting a plaza located right next to the place he had gone into seclusion to absorb the heavenly treasure obtained from the Heavens Faith Sect.

[Earth Fire…]

Looking through the different things for sale in the small stall, Xuan Hao wasn’t surprised that there wasn’t any artifacts or weapons present suitable for him. After all, though the cloud plaza did sell artifacts above the transcendent grade, they were not only pricy, but also difficult to encounter. Even when he had scoured through the cloud plaza in the past, he had at most found two or three artifacts at the Saint Grade… And even then, those artifacts were either of too low quality to make any real difference or simply weren’t suitable for combat. Not much different from the plowing shovel laid out before him.

Although that artifact was a high-grade transcendent artifact suitable for someone at the Dao Seed Realm, its combat power was only compared to the lower end of the transcendent grade. In other words, in terms of combat strength, it would only be suitable for someone at the Soul Ascension Realm. Not to mention the fact that running around with a shovel bashing in people’s head wasn’t exactly how he imagined himself to be fighting in the future.

Even if the unique ability of the artifact might be useful for the sect in expanding spiritual fields within the newly acquired secret realms bought through the ascension realm tower, the price of the artifact made him stop. Not planning on spending so many ascension coins before getting his hands on a suitable artifact.

As for the spiritual herb seeds being sold…

[Thank you for your purchase, 5000 Ascension Coins have been deducted]

He bought all of them, coming out to a hundred seeds belonging to five different earth grade spiritual herbs that he would hand over to the sects Alchemy Hall upon leaving so they could grow the spiritual herbs.

Although success wasn’t guaranteed when growing brand new spiritual herbs, a hundred attempts were bound to show some success. After all, the spiritual herb seeds were only of the earth grade and the experts within the sect were more than experienced enough to nurture these spiritual herbs and slowly start the process of mass production in case they ended up being as useful as the description had suggested.

With this in mind, Xuan Hao slowly made his way towards the next stall on the plaza, looking through the things being sold before buying a few cheap things that would be useful for the sect before moving on to the next stall, like this, he soon enough ended up burning through a little over fifty thousand Ascension Coins by the time he had finished looking through the entire cloud plaza.

Unfortunately, he didn’t find what he was looking for and the number of Saint Grade Artifacts that had appeared this time around was downright abysmal, as only a single Saint Grade Artifact had emerged.

Even worse, the saint grade artifact in question was the most useful one he had encountered so far with a downright terrifying price that had directly scared him away the second he saw it…

[Senior Archbishop Ling Yao’s Backscratcher]

[Grade: Peak Grade, Saint]

[Description: The backscratcher used by a senior archbishop who reached the demigod realm, crafted from divine metals above the saint grade. No use outside of the ability to fly and scratch one’s back on its own without needing one to inject spiritual qi. The high grade is purely due to the quality of material used.]

[Price: 75.000.000 Ascension Coins]

That kind of price was scary and at the same time also made him understand that it would be impossible for him to get his hands on an artifact beyond the Saint Grade with the few ascension coins currently in his possession. After all, this backscratcher with no real abilities was already so expensive merely because it had used a few materials that surpassed the Saint Grade. If he encountered an artifact that truly exceeded the Saint Grade, the price would undoubtedly be above a hundred million, something he was not just far from, but also doubted would ever appear within the cloud plaza where even Saint Grade Artifacts could be considered rare.

In a way, he had a feeling that the reason why no other Saint Grade Artifacts emerged was because all the luck had been used up summoning this backscratcher made of material exceeding the Saint Grade.

And while it might be amazing for a blacksmith who wanted to dismantle it and use the precious materials it was made from to craft a powerful artifact, it was useless to him even if he had the ascension coins to buy it.

Luckily for him, his luck hadn’t entirely run out, as he watched the legendary backscratcher disappear before his eye, being replaced with a brand-new row of items for sale. Indicating that the things on the cloud plaza had just refreshed before his eyes. Taking the opportunity to look through the new items before he once again began wandering through the cloud plaza picking up anything of interest that wasn’t too expensive. Burning through another thirty thousand ascension coins in the process.

However, even with everything refreshed and a grand total of four saint grade artifacts emerging this time around, none of them was what he was looking for, with the two suitable for combat among them both being of a lower grade that wouldn’t be of much use to him with his current strength.

In the end, he found himself spending another day wandering around before the wares throughout the cloud plaza refreshed once again. Making it clear that the things found on the cloud plaza didn’t refresh once every few weeks but instead changed once every day. Meaning he could stay around for some time waiting for the perfect artifact to emerge before returning to the twenty eighth floor to continue climbing up the tower.
