Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”Don’t think you can fool me again, Li Chi! I know master isn’t there! Last time you even dared to run away saying you had something important to do! This time around, I won’t leave until you agree to help me get that Dark Fire Spiritual Metal from Senior Wei!” Not at all realizing that his master was already standing behind him with a small frown visible on his face, Bai Ning didn’t turn around in response to Li Chi’s words and instead kept his eyes locked on Li Chi.

To be honest, this entire situation was rather surprising to Xuan Hao, as he had never seen his third disciple so forceful trying to get his new junior brother to obtain some kind of spiritual metal from Wei Chin on his behalf.

The spiritual metal in question, Dark Fire Spiritual Metal, wasn’t of a high grade so to speak, but it was amongst the rarest kinds of spiritual metal for its grade. Making it understandable why it would be difficult, even for Bai Ning, to swallow up over half of it in one go.

Even with his status, Wei Chin had shown no mercy and even forced this little disciple of his to try and make use of his new junior disciple’s connection to the old grand elder of the half spirit race to obtain this unique and rare spiritual metal.

”Hm? Nothing to say? Why did you suddenly go quiet…?” Still oblivious to the fact that his master was now standing behind him, Bai Ning could not help frowning slightly as he looked towards his junior brother a bit confused.

Considering what had happened over the past few days when he had cornered him and attempted to get him to agree to lend a hand in acquiring the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal from Wei Chin, he would have either strongly refused him by now or run away. Complete silence like this caught him somewhat off guard and made him sense that something was off about the current situation-

”Oh? Asking your junior brother for assistance in convincing Senior Wei? Bai Ning, I wonder what happened over the past few days that resulted in you being so desperate for so much Dark Fire Spiritual Metal. Even going as far as to pester your junior brother about it…”

But as he heard a stern voice suddenly echoing out behind him, he momentarily felt a shiver run down his spine as he turned around with a somewhat panicked look on his face.

”Master! It’s not like that! I just really need the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal for a spiritual artifact I have been refining over the past few weeks. If I don’t get it within the next two days, the artifact refinement will fail and if I succeed, I feel like my comprehension of the Dao of Blacksmithing will take a significant step forward!”

”I see… But don’t go around pestering your junior brother for something like that. If you encounter a similar situation in the future, contact me instead.”

”But I can’t take up master’s precious time with something like that-”

”Better take up a bit of my time than having you running around pestering your junior brother like this. Speaking of which… Did you perhaps also end up pestering your other juniors and seniors?”

”…”

Feeling like rolling his eyes at the guilty look in Bai Ning’s eyes as he began squirming embarrassedly in response, Xuan Hao already had the answer to this question.

Even if this kind of situation was somewhat understandable since it involved the improvement of his Dao of Blacksmithing, it was still a bit too much to pester everyone for help instead of contacting him for help.

Normally quiet and not the type to cause any kind of trouble, it seemed like this third disciple could still be a bit of a troublemaker when it came to him improving his comprehension of the Dao of Blacksmithing.

In the end, he decided to take the opportunity to not just lecture Li Chi like he had originally intended to do before leaving to find Lu Dongli, but also Bai Ning, who was clearly in need of some guidance.

As for the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal? Knowing that it was related to the improvement of Bai Ning’s comprehension of the Dao of Blacksmithing, he didn’t hesitate to help him get the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal he needed from Wei Chin.

In fact, learning that the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal was helpful in improving Bai Ning’s comprehension of the Dao of Blacksmithing, Wei Chin was more than happy to give him what he needed even without his assistance.

The main reason why he had been refused was because he hadn’t ever stated the reason why he needed the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal in the first place, as even Li Chi only learnt about thanks to his arrival.

By the time Bai Ning got his hands on the Dark Fire Spiritual Metal and Li Chi was pulled into the Formation Hall of the sect to get introduced to the Dao of Formations alongside other disciples who didn’t have any experience when it came to the Dao of Formations, Xuan hao had already left the sect and gone off to pick up Lu Dongli.

Using the bit of divine sense that he had left on her for protection earlier to track down her location. Finding her still within the same small kingdom within the territory of the Star Shattering Sect, her cultivation realm still nonexistent, even though she had long since awoken from the illusion and absorbed the memories from it.

From a glance, it was clear that she didn’t dare recklessly start cultivating after what she had gone through inside the illusion, as that experience had ended up leaving her somewhat fearful of stepping onto the path of cultivation.

But maybe more so than the pain she would experience was the fact that she wouldn’t be able to easily interact with her family members again after she stepped onto the path of cultivation, as the cold qi would harm them once her cultivation advanced a little.
