Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Having already formulated a plan for how to make use of the different subordinate forces of the Heavens Faith Sect to ensure the destruction of what little of the Heavens Faith Sect might ultimately escape from his purge of the core region of the small world, Xuan Hao set off towards the remaining three branch sects serving as guards to the core of the small world. Knowing that even with illusion formations in place, it wouldn’t be able to fool these branches forever, as there would inevitably come a point where they would grow suspicious of the fact that none of the people who went to check out the situation at the main sect ever returned.

Of course, with the strength of the people sent to check out the main sect, most likely being nowhere near his own, he doubted this would happen within the next few days. Giving him at least another few weeks before these branch sects would sense something wrong and with his current comprehension of the Dao of Space and knowledge of the exact location of these branch sects, it was more than enough time for him to ensure that these branch sects would disappear within the next few hours. Far before any of them would sense anything wrong.

And indeed, over the next few hours, Xuan Hao travelled from one branch sect to the next. Wiping them out one by one until finally, the last of the four branch sects had been completely wiped out by him except one. That one surviving branch sect was the last of the four branch sects that had someone at the Celestial Lord Realm holding down the fort. Proving to be far harder to take down than he had originally anticipated, as the other party had sensed him just before he had attacked and activated the defensive formations. Forcing him into a drawn-out battle that lasted for a little over two days before the energy reserves of the formation were finally exhausted. Allowing him to pierce through the defenses and kill the Celestial Lord Realm cultivator.

In the end, maybe because of the presence of such a powerful cultivator on the side of the Heavens Faith Sect, the total progress towards the destruction of the Heavens faith went beyond the 80% he had originally expected after the destruction of the final branch sect that could truly be considered a part of the Heavens Faith Sect.

[Progress: 86.7%/100%]

Ending up at a little more than 86%, over 5% over what he had expected to end up with after destroying the four branch sects of the Heavens Faith Sect, though he had a feeling that the main reason for the drastic increase compared to what he had originally expected to see didn’t have anything to do with the fact that this branch sect had someone at the Celestial Lord Realm guarding it, but more so the fact that the battle had been sensed by a few of the subordinate powers below the Heavens Faith Sect and ended up spreading. Shaking the originally invincible image of the Heavens Faith Sect.

Seeing this as a clear opportunity to take advantage of the current situation, Xuan Hao used another few days scouring the core of the small world picking off any members of the Heavens Faith Sect that he had originally missed before officially announcing the fall of the Heavens Faith Sect to the rest of the world. Dismantling the illusion formations and killing formations he had set up to catch any of the still alive members of the Heavens Faith Sect roaming the core of the small world. Allowing the different subordinate forces that were spread throughout the small world to see for themselves that the Heavens Faith Sect had indeed been destroyed.

Understandably, this took a few days before anyone became bold enough to step into the normally forbidden core of the small world, but thanks to the fact that some had already witnessed the battle at the last remaining branch sect of the Heavens Faith Sect, it didn’t take anywhere near as long as he had originally expected… And by the time a single week had passed, Xuan Hao already had a large number of formerly docile forces under the Heavens Faith Sect working for him spreading the news of the fall of the Heavens Faith Sect throughout the small world.

At the same time, he had also made sure that these powers would lend him a hand in purging the members of the Heavens Faith Sect that they encountered by dangling the knowledge of future advancement in front of them alongside the new and unknown Profound Immortal cultivation path that had been nonexistent throughout the small world before his arrival.

Given the strength he had already displayed alongside the fact that he had singlehandedly taken out the Heavens Faith Sect, none of the powers that had formerly been under the Heavens Faith Sect doubted him, as everyone happily followed along with his arrangements.

Of course, the reason why they followed his arrangements was not just because he was helping them advance further, but also because he had shown no interest in subjugating them and sent over most of the cultivation resources they produced and gathered like the Heavens Faith Sect had done.

Most important of all, he allowed them to resettle within the core of the small world where spiritual qi was denser, cultivation easier and resources more abundant.

In a way, the fact that he allowed them into the core of the small world was the main reason why they were willing to help root out the Heavens Faith Sect, as settling down within the core of the world meant that they would be able to truly consider themselves as the overlords of the world.

Because of this, two weeks after the fall of the Heavens Faith Sect, Xuan Hao found that the task given to him had almost been completed…

[Progress: 99.3%/100%]

Only a little less than one percent was left until he could officially leave the twenty seventh floor of the tower and advance to the twenty eighth floor, something to be overjoyed over if not for the fact that the last one percent was by far the hardest bit of the task to complete, as any sign of the Heavens Faith Sect had seemingly vanished into thin air by this point in time. The few members of the once world spanning faith had seemingly understood their current situation and gone into hiding. Making it difficult to root them out completely, just as Xuan Hao had originally feared would happen.

The one thing he had succeeded in was ensuring that there was no Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators left within what little remained of the Heavens Faith Sect, something that ensured that he was able to make use of the local sects and powers specializing in divination to narrow down the location of these remnants in hiding.

Divination itself was originally only something he had heard about in the past, as the profession and skill seemed to have disappeared entirely from the Ewaria Continent, but during his journey through the small world, he had discovered that a few of the forces within this small world were proficient in this ancient and forgotten practice. Giving him the idea of making use of them to track down the remnants of the Heavens Faith Sect.

Of course, he could learn divination on his own, but given the fact that the practice involved an obscure Dao like the Dao of Fate that was arguably as hard if not harder than the Dao of Time to comprehend, he gave up on the idea and merely stored away the information he could gather on this profession within the small world for the sect before getting the help of the professionals within the small world to help him out…

[Current Floor: 27]

[Task: Erase the Heavens Faith Sect]

[Progress: 100%/100% (Complete)]

[Reward: 4.000.000 Ascension Coin, the passage to the twenty-eighth floor reveals itself]

And in the end, it didn’t take more than a few days with the assistance of a senior at the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm skilled in divination to track down the last remnants of the Heavens Faith Sect. extinguishing the final embers of this once world spanning sect and officially completing the task that had been assigned to him for the twenty seventh floor of the tower.

Rumble~!

Something that soon enough revealed a towering spiral staircase that descended from the sky above the ruins of the Heavens Faith Sect main sect and directly plopped itself down at the very center of the small world. Making it easy for Xuan Hao to find this path and use it to ascend towards the next floor of the tower.

In the process, he almost completely ignored the few Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators who had already gathered around the spiral staircase and found themselves unable to cross the threshold and step onto it. Only leaving behind a few parting words for fun stating that the spiral staircase was the path for ascension and that he had to ascend to the immortal realm.
