Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Roar?

Seeing how its old enemy was standing above it, using his massive body to block the descending sword from above that would have undoubtedly killed it, the flying demon beast had no idea how to feel. Grateful as it was feeling for being saved, it also felt a sense of growing shame that it even had to be saved in the first. Even more, knowing how it was putting its old enemy at a disadvantage against the outsider currently bearing down upon the two of them from above.

Craaack~ BANG!

Continuing to stare up towards the towering mountain sized demon beast blocking the attack from above, the flying demon beast suddenly felt its heart breaking as part of the mountain sized demon beast was broken off by the descending sword from above. Crashing down into the ground right next to it alongside one of the equally massive legs of the mountain sized demon beast that had been cut off in the process.

From originally having been in a slow decline against Xuan Hao, the overall state of the mountain sized demon beast flipped entirely with it losing one of its legs. Unable to recover as Xuan Hao jumped on the opportunity to forcibly seal off the wound to ensure that it couldn’t recover again. Placing it in a far worse position as it couldn’t stand up properly and became somewhat unstable while facing off against the terrifying attacks from above.

To Xuan Hao, this was a best-case scenario, as he would be able to kill the mountain sized demon beast faster.

The fact that the flying demon beast had managed to escape alive from the attack just now meant nothing to him, as he had already realized just how weak this flying demon beast was compared to the mountain sized demon beast. Not to mention, it had no way out of its current situation, as he would be able to cut it down the second it attempted to fly out from beneath the mountain sized demon beast.

The only real challenge was the mountain sized demon beast that took some effort to wear down.

Of course, the flying demon beast stuck below the mountain sized demon beast had no idea that its old enemy already had no way out and had merely saved it out of pity and not wanting to see an old acquaintance perish before it.

Because of this, as the flying demon beast looked at the worsening state of the mountain sized demon beast above it, the flying demon beast slowly looked upwards filled with determination. Knowing that the enemy standing before the two of them far exceeded them in terms of strength and there was only really one way for them to stand a chance against this powerful enemy…

Rumble-!

And as the flying demon beast steeled itself, it began rapidly burning through its own lifespan to forcibly raise its own strength from the Early Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm to the Late Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm using a bloodline ability it had inherited through the awakening of its bloodline.

Using this new strength to forcibly flap its already cracking pair of wings-

Whoosh-!

Sending it flying out from beneath the mountain sized demon beast at a speed that even Xuan Hao watching the situation from above couldn’t perceive. The rapid increase in strength brought the already terrifyingly fast demon beast past the Celestial Lord Realm and into a realm that was in no way inferior to that of Star Creation Realm cultivator in terms of speed. Possibly even superior to someone who had just broken through to the realm.

”Huh? That is… A forbidden technique to forcibly increase its strength by consuming its own lifespan and cultivation foundation?”

Still, though the demon beast didn’t register within Xuan Hao’s divine sense when it first rushed out from beneath the mountain sized demon beast, he still noticed it after it had come to a stop a short distance away from where he was relentlessly attacking the mountain sized demon beast.

Not because his divine sense had suddenly become strong enough to pick up on the enhanced flying demon beast, but instead because the demon beast in question had no way to fully control its strength after having forcibly increased it. Forcing it to stop after having rushed out from beneath the mountain sized demon beast, thus giving him the time needed to understand what had happened and where this demon beast was.

Unfortunately for Xuan Hao, though he had noticed the flying demon beast and even saw through what had happened to it, he didn’t have any way to deal with it as the flying demon beast was simply far too fast for him to guard against with his current strength. Guessing that even someone at the Star Creation Realm would have a difficult time keeping up with the current speed of this flying demon beast that had forcibly raised its strength to the Late Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm.

Even then, he didn’t need to deal with this demon beast for long, as the forcibly increase in strength wouldn’t last forever. All he needed to do was ensure he remained safe during the duration of the increase in strength and for that, he had no better method than the ice lotus technique he had come up with in the past using the Dao of Ice and the Dao of Formations.

Although he might be able to create a better defensive barrier facing the flying demon beast using his stronger Daos, the ice lotus allowed him to essentially defend from all directions at the same time. Meaning he wouldn’t have to worry about being attacked from unexpected directions, as he personally doubted the flying demon beast would just be attacking him head on after what it had experienced the last time it attempted to attack him head on.

With all that in mind, before the flying demon beast even had the chance to make its move, he had already forcibly retracted his attacks towards the mountain sized demon beast and shifted entirely to the defensive. Conjuring up a nine layered ice lotus that bloomed around him with an eerie beauty, the recent increase in his comprehension of both the Dao Ice and the Dao of Formations compared to the last time he had used the self-created defensive technique causing it to evolve in a new direction as a thin ice mist formed around the lotus flower.

Harmless on the surface, the cold carried by the thin mist was more than enough to freeze anyone below the Profound Immortal Realm or the Celestial Immortal Realm to death, while those above would find their bodies slowing down and slowly freezing in place if they didn’t fight back against the cold mist.

In other words, a perfect way of dealing with this fast demon beast he had found himself facing.

Rooooar-!

Not the slightest bit intimidated by the ice lotus that had formed around Xuan Hao, the flying demon beast wasted no time as it gathered all its strength before charging forward at a speed that made it look like it teleported-

BAAANG-!

Slamming directly into the ice lotus guarding Xuan Hao the next second. Forcibly tearing through the two outermost layers in an instant before being stopped by the third layer.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

But this was only the beginning, as the flying demon beast soon began flying around him attacking from all directions using its recently enhanced strength at the Late Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm. Forcing its way through another three layers over the next few minutes alongside the assistance of the mountain sized demon beast that had decided to join in and try to get to Xuan Hao at the core of the ice lotus.

Both knew that this might be their only chance to deal with Xuan Hao, but even with both of them going all out trying to force their way through the defensive ice lotus, they ultimately found themselves unsuccessful, as the terrifying presence at the Late Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm began rapidly decling the second they barely broke through the sixth layer of the ice lotus working together-

Swish-!

Ptsh!

An opportunity Xuan Hao saw and took full advantage of, as he instantly shifted from being on the defensive to the offensive. Cutting down the flying demon beast who had already burned through most of its lifespan and foundation using the forbidden bloodline technique that had forcibly increased its strength to the Late Stage of the Celestial Lord Realm.

”One left…” And with the flying demon beast dead, Xuan Hao could once again shift his full attention on the mountain sized demon beast that had jumped out to try and assist its acquaintance in breaking through the nine layered ice lotus…

Rooooar-!

Using the next few hours to slowly grind down the last bit of vitality left within the mountain sized demon beast using the Dao of Fire before the sea of flames that had engulfed it after having shrunk to half its original size fully consumed it.
