Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling the searing pain of the foreign energy tearing through its body from the inside out as it moved directly towards its core, the shadowy demon beast wanted nothing more than to rip itself free from the spear that was being plunged deep into its body, but with its remaining bit of strength, it had no way to resist in the slightest and could only helplessly struggle as the invading energy got closer to its core where its soul was stored.

Although in a bad state having lost one of its front legs with numerous injuries all over its body, it was a demon beast and had a terrifying vitality that would allow it to fully heal in a few months, but that was only if it could get away, something that seemed impossible-

Shiiing~

Chiiin~!

Or that was at least what the shadowy demon beast had believed before the sound of a sword being drawn echoed throughout the seemingly endless hallway before a sharp sword intent swept forward and knocked the spear aside, causing it to tear a large cut through its body in the process.

Roooar!

However, none of this mattered to the shadowy demon beast, as it wasted no time in using this opportunity to escape. Not caring the slightest bit to stay behind and find out who it was that saved it. Partly because it was already aware that the one that had ended up saving it shouldn’t have done so out of the kindness of his heart, but more likely because he wanted to be the one to kill it and claim its body for himself.

Different from the shadowy demon beast who didn’t dare stay behind, the spear-wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator narrowed his eyes slightly as he stared towards the person who had just stopped him from finishing off the shadowy demon beast and claiming its body for himself. ”You... Not showing up earlier... You wanted to try and fight me for the little demon beast!?”

”Who knows? You were so kind to show where this little one was hiding, isn’t it only right for me to help you in taking care of that little demon beast’s body?” Smiling kindly in return, the sword wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator, who turned out to be none other than the one who had been knocked flying into the distance earlier, stepped forward.

”Hmph! I knew you couldn’t have been knocked so far away after just being hit once by that illusory construct on your own. So... You were hiding nearby?”

”Indeed~ And now that it’s just the two of us, isn’t it only right for the little demon beast to go to the strongest one?”

”Strongest one!? Hmph! You might have advanced your comprehension of the Dao of the Sword a bit, but don’t think your sword is any sharper than my spear!” Hearing the somewhat teasing tone of this longstanding enemy of his, the spear wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator tightened his grip before rushing forward with a terrifying momentum that seemed to shake the very space around him.

If not for the fact that the hallway they were in was in some kind of strange spatial dimension that had been isolated by an ancient formation far surpassing their current strength, the surrounding thousand kilometers would have been affected by the simple movement.

”Hehe, let’s end this fast before those two discover they have been fooled by the little demon beast~” Not at all surprised by this display of strength, the sword wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator happily twirled his sword before slashing down to meet the oncoming thrust of his opponent. Showing a level of confidence that would make it clear to anyone watching that his strength was clearly a notch above his opponent.

BOOOOM-!

A short instant later, the sword and spear clashed, causing terrifying shockwaves to sweep through the endless hallway, causing countless small ancient formation symbols to manifest on the wall all around them to create a barely visible barrier to resist the terrifying residual power of the clash between the two. The limited space of the hallway and the ancient formation essentially only giving the residual power two ways to go.

One backwards towards the secret entrance that led back into the space with the illusory construct, while the other...

Rooooaaaar-!

Ended up sending a certain little demon beast flying through the hallway at a speed far greater than what it could muster in its current injured state, though, it did come at the cost of losing one of its back legs. Essentially turning it into a rather odd looking two-legged feline demon beast with only a single front and back leg left.

Odd as this appearance was, the shadowy demon beast didn’t really have any time to care about how it looked, as it could only do everything in its power to drag its injured body forward after landing. Knowing that if it just stayed in place, it would either get killed off by the residual power from the two Land Creation Realm cultivators clashing with each other or end up being caught by one of the two when their battle ended, something that would also result in it getting killed.

The only thing it could do was continue forward, as it knew that it wasn’t entirely without hope as long as it could reach the end of this seemingly endless hallway, as there was an ancient teleportation formation at the end of the hallway that it had used in the past when it had first ended up accidentally stepping into the ancient alchemy sect ruins.

Back then, it had just been a weak demon beast barely at the Foundation Establishment Realm and had found itself captured by a group of demonic cultivators who had tried to open a passage into the ancient alchemy sect ruins through some kind of sacrificial ceremony.

It had no idea if they had ever ended up succeeding in the end, as the reason why it had been captured in the past was simply to throw it through a spatial passage that they temporarily established to the ancient alchemy sect ruins through a sacrificial ceremony before seeing if it survived or not and if they had ended up creating a passage to the correct location.

In the past, it had barely managed to survive through dumb luck alone and made it all the way to the Nascent Soul Realm before the restriction placed by those demonic cultivators disappeared.

After that, it had essentially wandered around the ancient alchemy sect ruins until it ended up finding itself trapped inside the treasury.

Speaking of which, those demonic cultivators had still been sending in demon beast like itself all the way until it had ended up being sealed inside the treasury but hadn’t yet managed to safely establish a passage for anyone beyond the Foundation Establishment Realm to pass through.

They did try sending in a few Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators, but inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins, there was no way for someone that weak to survive. Especially considering it was rather hostile towards these demonic cultivators that had dared to capture it in the past. Making sure to hunt any of the demonic cultivators it encountered before it was trapped in the treasury...
