Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Attention focused on the system for the first time since he entered the strange void, Xuan Hao didn’t find anything helpful and only saw the familiar status that hadn’t changed much since the last time he had looked through his status.

The only thing that stood out was the status of his disciples, as it was clear from a glance that none of them had become any stronger since he had last looked at them. Making him certain that time was indeed flowing at a much slower pace than he perceived it inside the strange void.

Hm? That is...

About to close his status screen after not finding anything that would be able to help him get out of his current predicament, Xuan Hao found himself freezing at the spot as he realized the sea of light in the distance had suddenly moved far closer to him compared to before.

However, looking at the sea of light, it was still moving at the speed it had been moving before without showing any signs of speeding up. Making him rather confused as to what had happened to cause the sea of light to essentially cross a distance that would normally have taken a million years in a few short seconds.

Is it perhaps because of the status screen? Does looking at it make the sea of light move faster...?

Unable to think of any other reason as all he had done was indeed just looking through his status screen, Xuan Hao wasted no time as he looked back down at his status screen while discreetly keeping an eye on the sea of light in the distance. Curious to see if it would really begin rushing towards him when he began looking through the status screen.

Unfortunately, things were far from that simple, as the sea of light continued its slow approach without any sign of speeding up.

Thinking it might have to do with him observing the sea of light, he also turned away and solely focused on the status screen, but... The result was the same, as the sea of light continued its slow expansion in his direction.

Although he wanted to think that it might just have been some anomaly from the sea of light itself instead of him causing the sea of light to suddenly leap forward, if his earlier guess that it was a trial of some kind that tested his will power, it was unlikely that it was some kind of anomaly other than himself causing the distance between himself and the sea of light to shrink so massively in the span of a few seconds.

The problem was, he had no clue what it was that had caused this change.

Luckily... He had more than enough time to slowly retrace his steps and try everything he had done leading up to him realizing the sea of light had crossed a distance that would normally have taken a million years to cover.

Starting with him pulling up his status screen through the system, Xuan Hao slowly went through everything he had done and thought over the next few days, his memory luckily not suffering any problems after having been dragged into the strange void. Allowing him to perfectly recall every small detail and thought he had while looking through his status.

In the end, on the fourth day, he finally figured out what had caused the sea of light to increase its expansion... His perception of time or more specifically an anchor for his perception of time.

Normally, he would have no clue about how much time had passed nor how long he had spent inside the strange void, but through his status or more specifically the status of his disciples, he was able to get general understanding of how long it had been since he had been dragged inside the strange space.

Although this was far from accurate, it made him understand with absolute certainty that he had not spent over a hundred years trapped inside the strange void, as there was no way in his head that an abnormality like Mui would still be stuck in the Domain Lord Realm without even improving a single minor realm for over a hundred years.

The chance of that happening was so astronomically low in his mind that it ended up becoming an anchor for him to understand with absolute certainty that he hadn’t been trapped in the strange void for over a hundred years. No... Not just a hundred years, with that girl’s cultivation speed, the longest he had been trapped so far would be a few months...

RUUUUMBLE-!

Along with him finding a proper anchor for his perception of time through his ability to view the status of one of his disciples, the sea of light that had moved at a snail’s pace suddenly roared to life as it swept towards him with an overwhelming might.

This... The light isn’t going to be dangerous... Is it?

Only thinking about the potential danger of the sea of light as it was upon him, Xuan Hao could not help smiling somewhat wryly at himself as he understood how meaningless this kind of thought was in his current situation.

After all, if the sea of light was truly dangerous, he wouldn’t have any way out of the strange void and would essentially have just sped up his own death.

WHOOOSH~!

Luckily, the sea of light didn’t kill him as it swept past him. Instead, it completely engulfed him- or in this case, his soul, as a strange power seemed to seep into every corner of his soul.

The power wasn’t violent or damaging, but was instead gentle and healing, as Xuan Hao clearly felt the strength of his soul improving rapidly as the strange power seemed to be some kind of special soul enhancing.... Light? He didn’t really know how to describe the strange power stemming from the sea of light, as he just quietly closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of his soul being strengthened. Knowing that the answer to leaving the strange void would likely present itself after the strange power from the sea of light finished enhancing his soul.
