Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Faced with the two Middle Stage Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators now observing him intently from the side as he continued clashing with the last remaining Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator left to fight him, Xuan Hao understood that although neither of the two wanted him to take the lead in reaching the treasury below, they weren’t exactly trusting enough of each other to be the first one to make a move on him. After all, the first one to attack him would just give the one lacking behind the perfect opportunity to make a move for the treasury.

Because of that, even as the last remaining Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator ultimately ended up using some kind of special artifact to escape after understanding that he wouldn’t be able to beat Xuan Hao with his current strength, the two continued just observing the situation cautiously. Neither of the two feeling that eager to be the first to make a move.

Hm... This is not good, I need to finish this before the stronger cultivators show up or I might end up having to face someone potentially in the Land Creation Realm with this little strength.

Narrowing his eyes slightly in the face of the two remaining Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators unwillingness to be the first to attack him due to the risk it posed to their chance of being the first to reach the treasury below, Xuan Hao didn’t bother overcomplicating things, as he soon began descending towards the treasury below.

If they were unwilling to attack him because it risked them losing out on the treasury below, the best way to get them to make a move would be for him to overtake their lead in front of them. After all, he wasn’t interested in the treasury below to the same degree as them and was fine with ending up in a battle with one of the two while the second rushed down to the treasury below.

Of course that was not the only reason, as he also had a bad feeling about the treasury below and felt like it might be some kind of trap. In any case, having one of the two reaming Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators check out the situation below for him was a good option.

But... If he could figure out that the treasury was dangerous so easily, it was almost certain that the two remaining Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators. The reason for their behavior should either be because they had some idea about the danger that lurked below, or they had caught a glimpse of something valuable enough for them to risk their lives when the treasury and first been unearthed...

Whoosh~!

Descending towards the treasury below without stopping at the same level as the two cultivators at the Middle Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, like the two of them had expected him to do, it caused them to short circuit as a look of disbelief flashed through their eyes simultaneously.

Neither of them had expected him to just outright ignore them and had instead been expecting him to approach the two of them in a civil manner to discuss their current situation. Potentially coming to some kind of agreement for dividing up the treasures below between the three of them before the stronger cultivators could show up and claim everything for themselves.

”You...!”

”Stop!”

The simple action from Xuan Hao was not only offensive but also made it clear that he didn’t intend to negotiate with the two of them.

No matter how much they wanted to deal with the situation without engaging in battle, there was no way for them to do so when Xuan Hao just decided to ignore the two of them.

Joining forces to fight Xuan Hao was an option, but the two were from different major powers that were far from friendly with each other. In fact, the two of them had already clashed over dozens of times, both on behalf of their major power and for treasures like they were doing at the current moment....

Swish-! BANG!

But there was no way they could simply allow Xuan Hao to take away the treasury below them while the two of them watched from the side, as one of the two finally lost his patience upon seeing Xuan Hao getting within a dozen meters of the treasury’s entrance. Charging forward with a towering greatsword that soon found itself being blocked by a small silver sword that had flown out from Xuan Hao’s hand to block the massive sword that was easily twice his height.

Unsurprisingly, the second this happened, the second Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator wasted no time rushing down towards the treasury below without showing the slightest bit interest in joining the battle between Xuan Hao and the other Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator.

”No, you don’t- Huh?”

Cliiiing~

About to intercept his former opponent who now found himself free to rush down towards the treasury below, the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator found his path being blocked by Xuan Hao before he even had the chance to try and stop his former opponent rushing past him towards the treasury below.

”What are you doing!?” Filled with frustration at being stopped, the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator clenched his teeth in frustration as his gaze remained locked on his former opponent now rapidly closing in on the treasury below. Understanding that time was running out if he wanted to prevent him getting his hands on the treasury. ”If you stop me, he will be able to reach the-”

Bang~!

”Should you be worrying about that now?” Not caring the slightest bit about the worries of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator in front of him, Xuan Hao simply answered his question with a single powerful strike that incorporated Sky Splitting Sword from the Heaven Splitting Sword Art. Forcing the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator to focus his full attention on defending himself in the face of the sudden terrifying sword strike.

Only at this moment did he realize that his opponent didn’t seem to care the slightest bit about the treasury below, something he had originally believed was the main reason why he joined the battle for the treasury in the first place.

After all, outside of that, what other reason would he have for joining a battle that involved so many Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators?

Yes... There is no reason for this- Ah! Unless... This guy is one of those battle maniacs!

Feeling a sudden shiver running down his spine as he came to a sudden realization, the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator began to look towards Xuan Hao with a far more serious and solemn expression.

Analyzing Xuan Hao’s behavior so far, it didn’t take him long to conclude that the one standing in front of him was very likely to be a battle maniac, someone who didn’t care about treasures or artifacts and solely cared about improving through battles.

From his knowledge of these kinds of people, they would either die before they even had the chance to reach the Nascent Soul Realm, or they would grow to become terrifying entities that even those far stronger would fear.

In the past he had scoffed at this kind of notion, but now that he found himself facing someone in the Earth Immortal Realm (Dao Seed Realm), as an equal, he understood just how terrifying these kinds of people were.

At the same time, he also understood that there would be no way for him to escape his current battle unless he decided to use one of his trump cards to escape from the ancient alchemy sect ruins, something he was unwilling to do unless his life was in danger. Not to mention, he still saw potential hope in getting his hands on the treasury below, as his former opponent would still have to get through the traps and other safety measures that guarded the place.

”Hmph! Come at me then!”

With that in mind, the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator brandished his greatsword filled with fighting spirit. Glaring at Xuan Hao with killing intent.

Contrary to his normal behavior, Xuan Hao perfectly acted out the role of a battle maniac at this moment, as a bright smile appeared on his face in response to this, the sword in his hand brimming with power as layers of sword intent coated its surface. Giving it an eerie silver glow.

Good... Seems like this one won’t be holding back any longer, a perfect opportunity to show off a bit in front of my disciple...

Although... The reason for this change in behavior had nothing to do with him suddenly becoming absorbed in the battle, but more so had to do with the fact that he saw this as a perfect opportunity to show off in front of his disciple.

After all, the battles so far were not just good for teaching his disciple but were also great for increasing his prestige as a master in the eyes of this little disciple of his who mostly seemed to respect strength.

In a way... Chu Yang could be considered a battle maniac to some extent, though... Not at the extreme level that the greatsword wielding Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator saw Xuan Hao as...
