Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

As he finished taking in the situation through his divine sense, Xuan Hao realized that he might be able to break the formation before his soul imprint ran out of strength by forcing the formation to use whatever power it still had left flowing in its system on fighting him. Even if his avatar ended up being destroyed in the end, if he could force the formation to reach a point where it was no longer able to keep operating normally, the group of people who were huddling together with his disciple should be able to find a hole in the formation that they could escape through.

The reason why he felt confident in this group of strangers being able to do something like that was because he had long since realized that all of them seemed to be skilled in the Dao of Formations. The formation they constructed using themselves as formation nodes to resist the flying sword being a rather obvious sign of their skill when it came to the Dao of Formations.

Rumble~

That aside, it seemed like the flying sword had finished gathering strength and was about to fly forward to cut down the group, something he couldn’t allow given his disciple was also there-

Whoosh~

And so, before the time could attack, he stepped forward. Positing himself between his disciple, his group of new friends and the flying sword.

”Huh? Who are-

”Master!?”

Caught completely off guard by this sudden development, one of the formation masters calling out in surprise at his sudden appearance was interrupted by Chu Yang, who instantly recognized the person standing in front of him as none other than his master. The exclamation from Chu Yang catching everyone else by surprise, as they suddenly realized that this new friend of theirs seemed to have a far more significant identity than they had originally thought.

After all, the presence that Xuan Hao gave off was no less terrifying than the flying sword hovering not too far away- no... In a way, the presence he gave off seemed far more terrifying than the flying sword.

”Haaa... I truly do wonder how you ended up in this kind of deadly situation... And don’t feel too confident about the current situation. The only thing here is an avatar, not my real body, it will probably take some time before I can so up in person.” Shaking his head slightly in response to the over eager response from his disciple, Xuan Hao made sure to douse his excitement before turning to glance over the group of formation masters behind him. ”You seven, focus on finding a flaw in the formation.”

”Huh... Not master’s real body? An avatar?” Hearing what his master said, Chu Yang could not help showing a somewhat surprised look on his face as he began inspecting his master’s body in more detail. Only now realizing that his master’s figure did indeed look somewhat illusory, like it could disappear at any moment.

As for his master’s request or more so order to the formation masters...

”Yess!”

”I will follow your command, senior!”

”Anything to get out of this place!”

The group were more than willing to comply. Not only because it was a chance for them to escape from their current deadly situation, but also because it was another chance to study a Saint Grade Formation in-depth while dismantling it from the inside. Not that dissimilar from what they had done on the flying ship.

The main difference this time around being that this formation was clearly of a far higher quality and the process of finding a flaw in such a formation would bring immense benefits to their own comprehension of the Dao of Formation. Potentially even helping them lay down a foundation for reaching the Saint Realm in the future.

Rumble~

Not too far away, the flying sword that had momentarily halted its attack after sensing the sudden arrival of a far more powerful opponent. Came to life again...

Swish-!

Directly turning into a single line of red colored light that arrived in front of the phantom figure of Xuan Hao the next second-

”Hmph!”

BOOOOM-!

However, Xuan Hao had already expected the attack, so with a single motion of his hand, he summoned a phantom version of his spiritual sea alongside his dao domain. Clashing head on with the flying sword that in turn erupted violently before turning into a sea of fire that spread out to engulf the entire first floor.

RUMBLE~~~

But even as the sea of fire with the flying sword at the front bore down on the illusory spiritual sea, it was unable to breakthrough, as Xuan Hao managed to successfully block the attack of the flying sword that was controlled by the formation.

”Don’t just stand around, get to work, I can’t hold this sword back forever!” Seeing that the group of formation masters along with his disciple was just standing there staring at the sense of the spiritual sea and sea of fire clashing with each other with awe, Xuan Hao couldn’t help frowning slightly as he reminded them that they still had to find a way out if they wanted to survive.

”Huh? Ah! Y-Yes! Everyone, get to work! We need to find a flaw in this formation while the senior is holding it back and pushing it to its limits!”

”Ah? Yes!”

”My bad, I was just taken aback, I have never seen something like this before...”

Following the kind reminder, it didn’t take long before the group of formation masters sprung into action. Wasting no time as they began focusing their full attention on trying to find any flaws in the formation. Knowing very well that this might be their only opportunity to find flaws in such a powerful formation, as there was no way for them to do so under normal circumstances without anyone powerful enough around to push such a formation close to its breaking point.

As for Chu Yang... he was once again left awkwardly watching from the side. Increasingly feeling like it might actually be a good idea for him to learn the Dao of Formations in the future when he had the time to do so...
