Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Rumble~!

But just as Xuan Hao thought he had successfully managed to get his disciple to safety, the flying sword that was contained inside the pagoda suddenly jumped out of the pagoda. Appearing in the air above the pagoda with the image of an illusory sun manifesting behind it. Giving off a far more terrifying presence compared to before.

This is bad... It looks like the formation doesn’t just have some hidden energy reserves I was unable to detect but also has the ability to project its strength beyond the limits of the pagoda!

Frowning to himself as he thought this while looking up at the flying sword that seemed ready to attack at any second, Xuan Hao understood that it was unlikely that he would be able to escort his disciple out of here. Especially considering he felt the spatial restrictions stemming from the formation guarding the pagoda having expanded to prevent escape.

Although he might still be able to run away, it was unlikely the flying sword would just allow him to leave unharmed. In other words, this avatar formed through the assistance of the soul imprint in the depth of his disciple’s soul wouldn’t be able to escape.

However, that didn’t mean Chu Yang and his group of friends would be unable to escape, as he should still be able to hold back the flying sword for a short period of time...

”Chu Yang, lead your new friends out of here. Get as far away as possible and don’t look back. Try to stay safe until I arrive in person.”

”Huh? M-Master!? I can’t just leave you behind and-”

”Haven’t I already told you? It’s not real body, just an avatar. Now escape while you still have a chance, I will keep this little sword preoccupied for as long I can with the strength left in this avatar.” Hearing his disciple’s response to his instructions, Xuan Hao could not help rolling his eyes slightly as he reminded him once again that this was not his real body before giving him and his group of friends a push away with his dao domain. Knocking them all the way out of the ancient ruins in a single motion that gave them no chance to resist.

Not just because he wanted them to leave this place as fast as possible, but because he understood full well that he wouldn’t be able to protect them even if he wanted to. The current flying sword, that seemed to have undergone some kind of evolution after it had appeared above the pagoda, was far too powerful. The presence alone partially surpassing the Pinnacle of the Sea Formation Realm and showing a clear presence that belonged to the Land Creation realm.

Even though it wasn’t yet at the Land Creation Realm in terms of strength, it was infinitely close to the Land Creation Realm. Even if he was here in person, he would struggle to resist this kind of flying sword, let alone now that he only had an exhausted avatar to rely on.

Resisting a single attack would be the limit before the avatar was destroyed.

Luckily, the flying sword hovering above the pagoda didn’t seem to realize his current weak state, as it continued gathering strength, causing the illusory sun that had manifested it to grow more solidified and real.

In turn, the presence of the flying sword that had been stuck infinitely close to the Land Creation Realm successfully broke through this limit. Officially elevating its strength to the Land Creation Realm.

”This... Even withstanding a single strike will be... Difficult...” Muttering this to himself as he felt the terrifying presence of the flying sword locking onto him, Xuan Hao understood that there was simply no way for him to resist this kind of attack with his current strength

On a positive note, the flying sword was entirely focused on him and essentially ignored Chu Yang and the rest. Allowing the group to smoothly make it out of the ruins surrounding the ancient three-tiered pagoda.

The time used by the sword to gather strength giving them a few extra seconds to widen the distance between them and the ancient three-tiered pagoda. Ensuring that even if the flying sword wanted to chase after them, it would be unable to do so.

To Xuan Hao, his goal of allowing his disciple to escape safely had essentially been accomplished because the flying sword didn’t seem to care the slightest bit about anyone other than him.

Something that could be considered understandable to him, as he was the only one who had the strength to pose a real threat to the formation guarding the ancient three-tiered pagoda. Even more so because the formation seemed to be unable to tell that he was an avatar and not an actual Sea Formation Realm cultivator.

After all, if the formation knew he was an avatar, it wouldn’t go through the trouble of elevating the strength of the flying sword to the Land Creation Realm and would instead focus its energy on exhausting the strength of his avatar, as that would have been far more cost effective.

Rumble-!

Oh, finally ready to strike!

Seeing the sun that had manifested behind the flying sword suddenly exploded with a brilliant light that blinded him and forced him to rely on his divine sense, Xuan Hao understood that the flying sword wouldn’t be wasting any more time and planned to strike him down in a single move now that it had attained Land Creation Realm power.

Understandable considering it was clearly as significant sacrifice for the guardian formation of the three-tiered pagoda to raise its strength to that level.

Of course, even knowing he stood no chance in the face of this powerful attack, he didn’t intend to just lay down on the ground to wait for death-

Whoosh~!

Using what little strength was left inside this avatar to rush in the opposite direction that his disciple and his new friends had escaped in. Intending to buy whatever little time he could in case they still happened to be within the range of the flying sword.

As for standing behind to face the attack of the flying sword head on? He wasn’t about to do something that wasteful. Understanding very well that no matter what he did, it would be useless in the face of this kind of terrifying attack at the Land Creation Realm.

His real body might have been able to resist, but this little avatar stood absolutely no chance at surviving with the spatial restrictions already severely limiting him in the face of the flying sword.

But even as he attempted to use all his remaining strength to escape, he didn’t get far before the flying sword was upon him.

...

BOOOOM-!

”Whaaa-!?”

Thump~

Having been in the process of running away as he had been instructed to do by his master just a few seconds earlier, Chu Yang suddenly found himself being thrown into the air by a terrifying shockwave of spiritual qi that swept over him from behind before landing heavily on the ground. The state of his dantian unstable, while countless bloody wounds appeared all over his body.

”Aaaah-!”

”Huh...? M-my arm!? Gone!?”

Like him, the rest of the group found themselves in a similar injured state, though some more serious than others depending on the strength of the violent spiritual qi they had been hit with.

Luckily, none of them ended up dead, though a few did end up losing a limb or two being hit by especially powerful winds created by the turbulent spiritual qi. Cutting directly through them without any resistance.

In a sense, they could be considered lucky that they had only lost a leg or an arm, as such a powerful attack hitting their head might have directly destroyed their soul. Killing them on the spot.

”Master...” Knowing very well what the origin of the terrifying shockwave was, Chu Yang could not help looking back in the direction of the ancient three-tiered pagoda before quickly shaking himself back to present.

His master hadn’t truly perished, and he still had to ensure that he and the rest survived long enough for his master to show up in person. After all, from what his master had told him, it seemed like the reason he hadn’t shown up yet had to do with him being caught up in some kind of situation that made it difficult for him to rush over immediately.

Although he had no idea about what his master was dealing with, he was certain that it should be something extremely important... And for that reason, he steeled himself for potentially having to survive for days inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins.

Difficult as this might be considering the danger of the ancient alchemy sect ruins, he felt that it might be possible if he and the rest could use this opportunity where the surrounding demon beasts had likely been intimidated back into hiding again by the terrifying clash just now, to find somewhere new to hide away.
