Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”A Star Creation Realm demon beast...”

”How in the world are we supposed to escape from something like that!?”

”Dead... I’m dead, I could just barely hold on so far, but with a Star Creation Realm demon beast, there is no way I will make it out of here alive...”

Reacting shortly after Xuan Hao’s surprised exclamation in response to the terrifying roar from the depths of the Verdant Abyss, the rest of the cultivators fleeing from the horde of demon beasts all showed similar looks of despair. Understanding full well that there would be no way for them to escape from a demon beast in the Star Creation Realm. Especially considering that they were still at least a day away from reaching the edge of the Verdant Abyss.

The only ones who didn’t immediately fall into despair were the few who still had trump cards up their sleeves for escaping, though most of the cultivators below the Land Creation Realm were left without any way to realistically escape.

Boosting their speed by burning part of their lifespan might have worked originally for some of them now that they weren’t that far from reaching the edge of the Verdant Abyss, but now that a Star Creation Realm demon beast was also involved, it would be impossible for them to escape.

After all, even though it wouldn’t reach them immediately, it should be able to catch up to them a few hours before they could see the edge of the Verdant Abyss.

Rumble~

But... Unwilling to give up even in this kind of situation, the weaker cultivators decided to try and boost their speed even further at the cost of burning even more of their lifespan-

”Aaaah-!”

Something that soon ended in disaster for a Late Stage Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator who had attempted to go far too beyond his current cultivation realm with his blood burning technique, causing the technique to consume him on the spot.

Normally, this would rapidly drain his remaining lifespan in a few seconds before he exploded, but...

Chomp-!

A demon beast acted faster than the blood burning technique and directly chomped down and swallowed the unfortunate cultivator. Devouring what remained of his strength before the blood burning technique had the opportunity to burn everything and go off with a bang.

”””...”””

Seeing this, several weaker cultivators who had originally planned to further increase the power of their own blood burning techniques paused. Understanding from the example that had just been presented to them that they themselves were far from strong enough to bear the brunt of increasing the power of their blood burning techniques.

Rumble~!

However, different from these weaker cultivators who were already at their limits and had used everything they had to forcibly increase their own speed, the ones in the Land Creation Realm and a few stronger Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators still had some trump cards to rely on, as they soon sped forward at an even greater speed compared to before.

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

Soon enough dividing the escaping group into two, one side being the weaker cultivators barely hanging on with someone being caught and swallowed by the horde of demon beast every few minutes, while the other was the group of stronger cultivators rapidly increasing the distance with the group of weaker cultivators.

So... I’m being left on my own now...?

In the middle of these two groups, Xuan Hao found himself being rather shocked by the sudden development. Not having expected everyone around him to suddenly explode with speed and rapidly leave him in the dust.

But then again, it made sense for everyone to have some lifesaving methods on hand. Especially old powerful cultivators who had been around for who knows how many years.

Under normal circumstances, there was no way these seniors would use their trump cards. Even the demon beast horde wasn’t enough, as they could keep themselves safe without wasting any of their trump cards. Only when faced with a Star Creation Realm demon beast did they feel a real threat to their life and decided to use these trump cards.

Even the flying ship of the Land Creation Realm cultivator who had originally been in the lead had been left in the dust by some of the other Land Creation Realm cultivators who used everything from a unique artifact that transformed into a large pair of wings increase flying speed to an ancient talisman that turned the user into towering phantom flying demon beast.

The sheer quantity and uniqueness of the methods used by the powerful cultivators now ahead of him were eye opening and at the same time also made him understand that the one who had been chasing him in the past had never gone all out against him.

This is troublesome... If they leave me too far behind, I might end up having to face the Star Creation Realm demon beast on my own...

Feeling a sudden sense of urgency as he realized that the group of cultivators ahead were getting farther away from him, Xuan Hao understood that he would likely not stand a chance escaping from the Verdant Abyss again if he couldn’t escape this time around.

The reason for this was not just because using the Dao of Space would get him knocked back further into the depths of the Verdant Abyss, but more so because the entirety of the Verdant Abyss was starting to grow reckless because of the chaos he had ended up causing with the demon beast horde that had formed behind him.

Even if he didn’t end up being forced into the abyss at the core of the Verdant Abyss, the location he ended up might have an active Star Creation Realm demon beast rampaging. Meaning he would inevitably be forced to use the Dao of Space to send himself into the abyss.

The problem was... He didn’t have any way to catch up with the group of cultivators ahead.

Well... almost no way, as he could still drop Huo Fen and Meng Jie. In which case his speed should he be able to catch up with the group up ahead.

But... Dropping those two aren’t an option. Meaning I will have to find some other way to catch up with them before the distance becomes too great and the Star Creation Realm demon beast gets too close...

Narrowing both his eyes as he thought this to himself while glancing down at the master disciple pair shaking in fear as they looked back towards the horde of demon beasts chasing them from behind, Xuan Hao separated a small part of his divine sense to look through his personal interspatial ring where he kept his most important items to see if he could find anything that would be able to help him in getting out of his current situation.

Let’s see... The small token Shu Yao gave me in the past... A book about cultivation realms, a book on formations, another book... A sword technique... Ahh! Why is everything in my interspatial ring books or techniques!?

As his divine sense swept through his personal interspatial ring where he kept his most important things stored, Xuan Hao could not help lamenting to himself as he suddenly realized that there wasn’t anything inside the interspatial ring that would help him get out of his current situation, it was mostly just a stack of ancient books, records and techniques he had gathered over the years. Nothing like the trump cards that those ahead of him had used.

The only thing that looked a bit different from the rest of the things inside his interspatial ring was the Sky Watcher’s Forgotten Notes Relating to Celestial Bodies.

Although he did want to take another look at these ancient notes now that his understanding of several different Daos had improved, he also understood that now wasn’t exactly the time to start trying to decipher the ancient notes.

What he needed was a way to further increase his speed that didn’t involve him dropping Huo Fen and Meng Jie to their death.

Hm? This is...?

But just as he was about to turn his attention away from the ancient notes, he suddenly noticed one of the pages giving off a faint, almost invisible light. Prompting him to use his divine sense to investigate-

BOOOOOM-!

And almost the second his divine sense touched the faintly glowing page, an explosion seemed to go off in the depths of his soul, as a terrifying pull forcibly ripped his soul out of his body. Drawing it into the sky above, easily bypassing the spatial formation before moving past the sky above the Eastern Central Region. Ascending to a realm far beyond the Ewaria Continent.

What... What is this? Where is this? What about my body?!

Having only felt his soul suddenly leaving his body before coming to an abrupt stop, Xuan Hao could not help panicking as he understood full well what would happen to his body now that his soul had been forcibly pulled out of it!
