Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling an immediate change the second he swallowed both the source crystal and the time stone, Xuan Hao didn’t even have time to wonder whether swallowing the time stone was the correct way to use it, as he felt himself entering a state of enlightenment where the formerly obscure Dao had become far clearer compared to before.

Things he had been unable to grasp regarding the Dao of Space that had remained hard to grasp since breaking through to the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Space became clear, as the source crystal took effect the second it entered his mouth.

However, though it was tempting to use the opportunity to deepen his understanding of the Dao of Space, he also understood that the focus this time around wasn’t the Dao of Space. Instead, it was trying to grasp the Dao of Time.

Difficult as it was to even sense under normal circumstances, with the time stone slowly flowing into his dantian under some mysterious force, he felt the formerly obscured Dao of Time suddenly open up, as he wasted no time dwelling into it. Trying his hardest to make use of his increased comprehension from the source crystal to try and grasp the Dao of Time and step into the Elementary Realm.

This... Is harder than I expected...

Unfortunately, different from his imagination where he would be able to easily grasp the Elementary Realm of the Dao of Time with the help of both the source crystal that enhanced his comprehension and the time stone that allowed him to more easily sense the Dao of Time, he found himself completely stumped by the sheer difficulty involved in comprehending the Dao of Time.

Even after everything, he found it impossible to comprehend the Dao of Time no matter what he did, like there was an invisible wall blocking his path forward in comprehending the Dao of Time. Making it far more difficult to try and grasp compared to any other Daos he had encountered so far.

Of course, even faced with this kind of challenge, Xuan Hao didn’t intend to give up on comprehending the Dao of Time, as this would be the best opportunity for him to comprehend it before breaking through to the Land Creation Realm in the future.

Not to mention, he had no idea when he would have another opportunity to comprehend the Dao of Time in the future. After all, the opportunity to comprehend the Dao of Time with the help of the Time Stone had not come from his own discovery but had come in the form of a reward from the system. Meaning that the awakening of his physique would end up being postponed indefinitely...

Whoosh~

As he thought this in the back of his mind about this while focusing his full attention on the time stone that was now floating gently at the center of his dantian exuding a faint almost indiscernible presence that seemed to twist the very fabric of time around it, Xuan Hao found himself growing increasingly nervous as he clearly sensed that this faint indiscernible presence was slowly fading. Knowing that when it disappeared, his chance of comprehending the Dao of Time would be gone.

No... It shouldn’t be this difficult for me to comprehend the Dao of Time. Maybe I’m missing something...?

Frowning visibly as this thought occurred, Xuan Hao soon found himself shifting his attention away from the time stone and instead began to focus on the small almost indiscernible waves in time created by the time stone.

Soon enough, noticing how they were subtly influencing the spiritual qi flowing through his dantian, the spiritual sea below and even the Dao Lotus floating at the very core of his dantian.

Every slight change that seemed to either speed up or slow down the movement of everything inside his dantian was clear to him and through this sudden clarity, he seemed to finally grasp onto an elementary concept of the Dao of time and how it had the ability to slow and speed up time through disrupting these indiscernible waves of time that permeated everything yet remained impossible to discern under normal circumstances.

Only with the time stone did these normal calm waves of time stir ever so slightly. Allowing him to have a glimpse of what existed beneath the surface.

Rumble~

And as he came to understand this, his understanding of the Dao of Time finally seemed to reach a breaking point, as his understanding of the Dao of Time broke through to the Elementary Realm. Archiving his goal just in time for him to witness the time stone slowly fade away like it had never existed in the first place.

Although this was a rather weird experience, having reached the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Time, he could sense a bit more deeply what had ended up happening to the Time stone.

From the start, it had caused a disturbance to the normal flow in time around itself, like throwing a stone into a calm lake... And this disturbance had slowly grown more turbulent beneath the surface before the time stone was swallowed up. Disappearing beneath the surface.

Now that he had comprehended the Dao of Time to the Elementary Realm, he could also cause a similar disturbance that he would be able to use to deepen his own understanding of the Dao of Time, while at the same time also being able to track down and fish up the time stone that had sunk beneath the surface if he was strong enough.

In fact, outside of the time stone that he had used, he could already sense countless such stones lying just beneath the surface. The main problem was that he was far from strong enough to fish up these stones and could only barely sense them with his current comprehension of the Dao of Time.

But... Even though he had the ability to cause a similar disturbance as the time stone and thereby continue comprehending the Dao of Time, he didn’t dare to do so, as he would end up being dragged down beneath the surface just like the time stone if he was not careful.

At least for now, while the source crystal was still in effect and increased his comprehension, he didn’t dare to recklessly try and further his understanding of the Dao of Time, as there was a very real risk of him being fully absorbed in comprehending the Dao of Time and being swallowed up like the Time Stone.

Thinking about it, he realized that the disappearance of those who had comprehended the Dao of Time in the past might not have been because there was some kind of shadowy organization or power killing them off, but simply because they had ended up being swallowed by the sea of time. Unable to free themselves after being dragged down beneath the surface.

Along this line, he might even be able to find some of these people in the future while comprehending the Dao of Time, even if the chance was rather low considering just how difficult it was to comprehend the Dao of Time in the first place...

Shaking his head at this thought, Xuan Hao threw these thoughts to the back of his mind for now before focusing his full attention back on making full use of the remaining time he had in his enhanced comprehension state.

Considering that he wouldn’t be able to make any meaningful breakthroughs with the three Daos at the Perfection Realm, he decided to focus on comprehending the Dao of Light, as it would not only help increase the speed of the Illusory Light Steps, but would also be far simpler, as his comprehension of the Dao of Light had remained stuck at the Small Success Realm for some time and wasn’t that far from reaching the Large Success Realm. Especially so considering his recent usage of the Illusory Light Steps had helped him further his comprehension of the Dao of Light.

Although not at the Peak of the Small Success Realm, with the assistance of the source crystal, Xuan Hao found himself easily elevating his comprehension of the Dao of Light. Soon enough reaching the Peak of the Small Success Realm before officially breaking through to the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Light at the last second before the enhanced comprehension brought by the source crystal ran out.

In the end, he not only managed to successfully comprehend the Dao of Time to the Elementary Realm but also managed to increase his comprehension of the Dao of Light to the Large Success Realm. Bringing about a far greater change to his spiritual sea than he had originally anticipated to take place after comprehending the Dao of Time.

Although it was not enough to return it to its previous calm state, it was clear that it wouldn’t take much for it to calm down. Maybe comprehending another Dao to the Elementary Realm or elevating one of his Dao of Life from the Elementary Realm to the Small Success Realm would do the job.
