Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling the clear look of disbelief coming from Huo Fen as he had essentially frozen on the spot after seeing him still sitting peacefully next to his disciple, Xuan Hao could not help silently marveling at the timing of the old man. Having arrived just when he had retracted the spiritual sea after he no longer had to deal with any more attacks from the trapping formation.

If not for a section of the private box facing the auction stage below having been destroyed when the vines had first reached out to try and drag him below ground with the rest of the captured people, there would have been no way for Huo Fen to tell that something had even happened after he had rushed out of the private box.

Although... Looking at Hou Fen’s reaction, it was clear that he hadn’t noticed the destroyed part of the private box...

Standing around silently for another few seconds without anyone saying anything, Xuan Hao decided to pull out another spiritual fruit for Meng Jie before returning his attention back to the spatial artifact around Meng Jie’s wrist. Feeling as the spatial fluctuations that had originally been faint and hard to detect grow stronger and more pronounced with each passing second. Having reached a point where even someone in the Soul Ascension Realm would be able to sense the spatial fluctuations coming from the spatial artifact.

And along with that, the small spatial artifact finally seemed to have reached its desired point, as soft clicking sound echoed out from the small bracelet while the spatial fluctuations that had been continuously growing stronger for the past few minutes seemed to stabilize.

”Huh? The artifact is- Ah!” Hearing the soft clicking sound that was difficult to miss amidst the silence that had overtaken the auction house following the activation of the trapping formation, Huo Fen seemed to finally recover from his frozen state as he exclaimed happily before abruptly freezing once again upon remembering that Xuan Hao, this unknown senior capable of seemingly ignoring a Saint Grade Formation designed to deal with someone in the Land Creation Realm without exerting the slightest bit of effort to do so.

In the face of this kind of terrifying existence, his escape plan of using the spatial artifact his disciple was carrying wouldn’t work out, as Huo Fen understood full well that the other party would be more than capable of killing both himself and his disciple if he wanted to.

If anything, the only thing that kept him somewhat sane in this kind of terrifying situation was the fact that Xuan Hao hadn’t shown any hostile intentions towards him and his disciple and merely seemed to be curious about what they were up.

Considering what had happened so far and how he had managed to trap close to a dozen Celestial Immortal Realm, Huo Fen himself found this understandable. After all, what he had ended up accomplishing so far was nothing short of a miracle for someone below the Celestial Immortal Realm. Not to mention, his willingness to risk his life for something like Stardusk essence, which was essentially useless to someone like himself.

Outside that, there was also the spatial artifact held by his little disciple, something Huo Fen was almost certain had drawn Xuan Hao’s attention, as he didn’t really bother hiding his gaze when he began to focus on it to try and deepen his understanding of the Dao of Space through its increasingly complex spatial fluctuations.

But even with all of this, it was also clear to Huo Fen that Xuan Hao didn’t have any hostile intentions. The reason for his certainty in this regard after he slowly began to calm down from his shock upon first returning to the private box was simply that with Xuan Hao’s strength, he would have been more than powerful enough to forcibly take away the spatial artifact of his disciple if he had wanted to do so.

This... Might not be as troublesome as I first thought, this person really does just seem curious about us and the entire situation that ended up playing out. Probably just ended up being extremely lucky to encounter a wandering Profound Immortal with little interest in any of the treasures of myself and my disciple by chance...

Silently thinking this to himself as he cautiously turned towards Xuan Hao to gauge what he might be thinking, Huo Fen felt himself starting to return to how he had been when chatting with Xuan Hao before the start of the auction.

The reason for his apparent ease coming shortly after concluding that Xuan Hao should be a powerful wandering Profound Immortal being that such cultivators weren’t connected to any major powers and often didn’t care much for cultivation resources that were useless to them.

Nothing like powerful Celestial Immortal or Profound Immortal Realm cultivators who had a far higher likelihood of attempting to rob them of everything they had even if nothing in their hands would be useful to them. After all, these kinds of cultivators also had to help their younger generations and the members of their major power and couldn’t easily afford to ignore a Dao Seed Realm cultivator with seemingly no background capable of taking up close to four million top grade spiritual stones.

”Friend... I would really like to stay longer, but I will have to leave immediately or else me and my disciple won’t have the chance to leave this place alive...”

With that in mind, Huo Fen decided to politely call out to Xuan Hao, as he told him about how he was about to leave.

To be honest, part of him wanted to stay behind and help this senior with any questions he might have, as it would potentially allow him to gain a little more backing for himself and his disciple, but... At the same time, he also understood that staying for much longer would be nothing short of suicide, as the true powerful people behind the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators who had shown up at the auction today were bound to show up within the next few minutes if they had not already been close enough to the city where the auction house and now the Saint Grade Trapping formation was located.

Confident as he might be in this senior’s strength, he also understood just how terrifying a major power like the Heavenly Dragon Temple was and had no plan on waiting around to find out about this in person. After all, the Heavenly Dragon Temple was known as one of the most powerful temples in the Western Central Region and was certain to have some way to deal with a being in the Star Creation Realm.

The religion connected to the Peak Middle Stage Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator who was arguably doing the most when it came to trying to break the formation that had knocked him senseless by now, was bound to be on par with the Heavenly Dragon Temple they bordered. Meaning that in Huo Fen’s eyes, Xuan Hao stood no chance of escaping alive if he decided to linger around the city.

It wasn’t exactly wrong, as the people who were going to be dispatched to rescue those few Early Stage Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators would be stronger than them. At least reaching the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, potentially even beyond that and in numbers far greater than he could handle... And that was without including the small temple that could potentially cause a threat to someone in the Star Creation Realm if it was able to burrow the full power of the Heavenly Dragon Temple’s main temple.

”No need to apologize for something like that, I understand the current situation and this kind of place indeed isn’t suited for a conversation. For now, let your disciple activate that little bracelet of hers and I will come find you after I take another look at this little formation of yours.” Nodding his head as he said this in response to Huo Fen, Xuan Hao casually gestured that it was fine to leave and that he would find them later.

”Y-Yes...” Taken aback by Xuan Hao’s words, especially upon hearing him mention that he would find them later and what that implied, Huo Fen froze for a brief moment before nodding his head and walking over to his still rather busy disciple.

Picking up the girl who quickly used both her hands to grab most of the remaining spiritual fruits before he activated the spatial artifact around her hand to form a small yet extremely stable special channel that the two of them were quickly sucked inside of while Xuan Hao remained silent on the side. Observing the entire process with great interest.

The display of understanding when it came to the Dao of Space from the creator of the spatial artifact was fascinating to him to say the least, as it was clear that the creator of the spatial artifact was not only someone also extremely skilled in the Dao of Blacksmithing, but also someone who seemed to have specialized in the creation of spatial passages or tunnels.

Although his understanding of the creator of the spatial artifact was close to nonexistent, it was still clear from the path the other party had taken when it came to the Dao of Space, that this person would be someone incredibly difficult to catch. Far harder than someone like himself who hadn’t primarily focused on the spatial teleportation aspect of the Dao of Space like the creator of the spatial artifact had so clearly done from what he had managed to comprehend from the spatial fluctuations so far...
