Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling the terrifying divine sense locking on to both him and the demon beast, Xuan Hao realized that there wouldn’t be enough time for the Land Creation Realm cultivator to deal with both him and the demon beast.

If he went after the demon beast, he would have enough time to leave the Verdant Abyss and make use of his comprehension of the Dao of Space to escape and if he decided to first focus on him, it would give the demon beast an opportunity to escape back in the direction of the Verdant Abyss’s core region. After all, no matter how much it wanted to get its hand on the Stardusk Essence, it should understand that it would stand no chance of getting its hands on it after Xuan Hao was captured by the Land Creation Realm cultivator.

Thinking about all this, the second he sensed the divine sense of the Land Creation Realm cultivator; Xuan Hao felt himself starting to relax.

The reason for this was rather simple, the Land Creation Realm cultivator had no idea about his comprehension of the Dao of Space and only knew him to have an especially fast movement technique that almost put him on par with someone who had just broken through to the Land Creation Realm.

Even if he knew that there was a very real possibility of him using some kind of spatial teleportation talisman to escape after leaving the Verdant Abyss, he obviously wouldn’t be too worried about this. Having his own ways to trace down the location and chase him down after he had dealt with the demon beast.

Whoosh-!

Roar!?

For this reason, Xuan hao wasn’t the slightest bit surprised when the terrifying divine sense receded before focusing entirely on the already injured demon beast. Clearly showing the Land Creation Realm cultivators plan of first dealing with the demon beast and ensuring that it wouldn’t be able to escape before he focused back on dealing with Xuan Hao. Earning a rather surprised and fearful roar from the demon beast in response.

At the end of the day, Xuan Hao might have offended the Land Creation Realm cultivator with what he had done earlier but compared to the demon beast who would provide a lot of useful resources, Xuan Hao himself was nowhere near as important to deal with. At most being an afterthought to the much more precious demon beast who was only now realizing that it had once again been set up.

ROOOOAR-!

However, instead of attempting to escape, like Xuan Hao had expected the demon beast to do after realizing it had become the main target of the Land Creation Realm cultivator, the demon beast roared loudly before igniting its vital blood and in turn lifespan with some kind technique. Allowing its strength to momentarily surge beyond that of the Land Creation Realm cultivator, causing the person in question to freeze on the spot before rapidly retreating. Understanding that the demon beast had given up on trying to escape alive. Having decided to burn its own lifespan to momentarily elevate its own strength far beyond what it had been before.

In this kind of circumstance, it was best to keep a distance and avoid being dragged down by the demon beast. Waiting on the side until it had finished burning through its lifespan was by far the best option and the one, he ended up choosing to adapt.

But for Xuan Hao, who had expected the demon beast to draw the Land Creation Realm cultivator away from him and buy him enough time to escape from the Verdant Abyss...

Huh? The demon beast can still power up?!

This situation was completely unexpected, as the demon beast began to rapidly catch up with him.

Even by a rough estimate, he wouldn’t get more than the halfway point between his current location and the towering ancient formation of the Verdant Abyss that was now visible in the distance... And in his current exhausted state, there was no way for him to put up any meaningful resistance in the face of the demon beast that had now elevated its own realm beyond that of even the Land Creation Realm cultivator who had been about to catch up with the two of them from behind.

Not able to use his Dao of Space to escape without being thrown back into the depths of the Verdant Abyss by the formation he could see towering over him from afar, Xuan Hao understood that he had truly found himself in a helpless situation with no clear way out.

What to do... I can’t just wait around for it to catch up! Using the Dao of Space isn’t an option, but... I might be forced to do so...

Narrowing his eyes as he realized that his only way to escape from his current situation might be for him to use the Dao of Space to get thrown deeper into the Verdant Abyss, Xuan Hao could not help looking through everything in his interspatial ring. Looking for a potential solution but finding nothing capable of dealing with the terrifying demon beast that had used everything it had left. Even burning its own lifespan to intimidate the Land Creation Realm cultivator into being hesitant to make a move, Xuan Hao understood he was truly out of options.

”Ah! Damn it!”

Rumble~!

Cursing out loud as the demon beast closed in, Xuan Hao stopped trying to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss visible in the distance and instead began utilizing his last remaining strength to forcibly manipulate the space around himself and the master disciple pair-

Whoosh-!

Roar!?

And just as the demon beast reached the three of them, they disappeared from the spot-

BANG!

But like Xuan Hao had expected, the second he attempted to teleport away from the Verdant Abyss, he felt the dormant power of the formation suddenly locking on to him before a terrifying force engulfed him and the master disciple pair before flinging them all deeper into the Verdant Abyss.

RUMBLE-!

However, different from smashing into the formation from the outside, the force that slammed into all three of them was far greater and forced Xuan Hao to use what little strength he had left to guard both Huo Fen and Meng Jie, as the two of them would have been killed on the spot otherwise.

Splurt~

As a result, he ended up throwing up a large quantity of blood, as three times the normal power of the Verdant Abyss Formation slammed into him at the same time. Placing him in an even weaker position, as he did his best to stay conscious as the three of them were thrown deeper into the Verdant Abyss. Understanding very well that the danger was far from over, as he had to be prepared to act in case they ended up being unlucky enough to get thrown into the nest of some powerful demon beast.

By far, this was the worst state he had found himself in, but it didn’t end up getting even worse, as the location they ended up after leaving the turbulent spatial corridor that had been forcibly created when the spatial formation had retaliated in response to his attempt to teleport out of the Verdant Abyss, was uninhabited with no powerful demon beast lingering around the area.

Then again, he wouldn’t have that much time to relax, as he still had to leave before the Land Creation Realm cultivator came chasing after him, something that he felt would happen after the demon beast was dealt with.

One positive was that the demon beast would at least buy him some precious time now that it had forcibly elevated its own strength to a level that the Land Creation Realm cultivator couldn’t easily deal with.

Even by a rough estimate, he guessed that the demon beast should be able to hold on for an entire five minutes in its elevated state. Solely because the lifespan of demon beasts far exceeds that of human cultivators. Giving them a certain upper hand when it came to using techniques that would burn away their lifespan.

Then again, it might not last that long, as there was a chance other powerful cultivators might be attracted by the commotion and join in on killing the demon beast.

If that was the case, he guessed he wouldn’t have more than two minutes at most. Far from enough time to recover his strength and find somewhere safe where he could recover properly.

Meaning... His best option was to stay in place and recover as much as he could before the Land Creation realm cultivator showed up... And when the other party appeared, use the little strength he had recovered to use the Dao of Space again and get flung even deeper into the Verdant Abyss.

Although dangerous, it should intimidate the Land Creation Realm cultivator into not daring to continue chasing after him, as demon beasts above the Land Creation Realm would start to appear if he went any deeper...
