Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

At the same time Xuan Hao spotted the Land Creation Realm cultivator and the expeditionary force he was leading through the dense forest of the Verdant Abyss, the Land Creation Realm cultivator also noticed him along with the demon beast that was chasing after him. Almost immediately realizing what was happening, he signaled for everyone around him to gather up and prepare for battle, while he decided to step forward to block Xuan Hao by himself.

”To think someone is bold enough to rush directly at us like that in an attempt to have us deal with the demon beast they provoked...”

”Indeed, with the lord around, there is no way something like that is going to work.”

”Yeah, even if the other party is powerful, he is nowhere near the same level as the lord!”

And as the five Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators and two Profound Immortal Realm cultivators following behind the Land Creation Realm cultivator followed the lead of their superior, a secondary defensive line soon formed behind him.

Although not as strong as the first defensive line formed by the Land Creation Realm cultivator, it was more than powerful enough to resist someone in the Land Creation Realm through sheer numbers for a short period of time. Meaning that even if Xuan Hao somehow managed to get past the Land Creation Realm cultivator, he would also have to get through this second line of defense... And even if he could get through it as well, it would take time, time that the Land Creation Realm cultivator could use to catch him.

All things considered, from Xuan Hao’s view, there wasn’t really any way for him to continue forward through the layered defensive wall that had been formed to block his path and prevent him from dumping the demon beast chasing after him at the expeditionary force.

But... Xuan Hao didn’t worry much about the current situation he found himself in where he was trapped between a rock and a hard place. Instead, he found himself somewhat relaxing upon seeing the Land Creation Realm cultivator on the other side not rushing over to kill him.

Though he had expected something like this, as the other party undoubtedly wanted to not just block him and prevent him from dumping the demon beast at him and his group, but also test the strength of the demon beast that had come rushing out, as the body of such a powerful demon beast was nothing short of a treasure even to a powerful Land Creation Realm cultivator, it was still reassuring to see it actually happening.

After all, it gave him the perfect opportunity to enact the first part of his quick scheme to ensure that the demon beast chasing after him wouldn’t continue targeting him.

Whoosh~

”Huh? What is that?”

”A demon beast corpse? Why did he suddenly pull out something like that?”

”Not just any demon beast corpse! The strength of the demon beast should have reached the Celestial Immortal Realm when it was still alive!”

”A Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast corpse? Why did he pull out something precious like that all of a sudden when he is about to be attacked by that demon beast chasing him from behind? Don’t tell me... He wants to try and appease the demon beast by feeding it?”

”Who knows, maybe he wants to make use of the pressure brought on by all of us to succeed. After all, the demon beast isn’t aware that we aren’t on the same side.”

”True... If I was the demon beast, I would definitely start hesitating after seeing so many cultivators appearing ready for battle. Taking the offering might be a better option over risking a potentially deadly battle.”

As the different Celestial Immortal Realm and Profound Immortal Realm cultivators were all left in a state of confusion for a moment after Xuan Hao suddenly pulled out a demon beast corpse for seemingly no reason other than potentially trying to appease the demon beast chasing after him by using it as a tribute, the demon beast in question narrowed its eyes visibly as a terrifying killing intent burst forth before locking on to Xuan Hao who had come to a stop a short distance away from the Land Creation Realm cultivator blocking his path.

It recognized the corpse as none other than its now dead child, causing its anger to overflow as it was just about to pounce on Xuan Hao to enact its revenge on him for taking its child away and even daring to mockingly display it so brazenly-

Swish~ Boom!

However, before it could jump forth, it was left in utter shock, as the powerful human who had seemingly lined up protectively behind the daring human who had killed its child, launched an attack that directly blew up the corpse of its child.

”Hmph! Think you can bribe the demon beast while relying on me to pressure it? How naive!”

At the same time, the Land Creation Realm cultivator who had been blocking Xuan Hao’s path in an attempt to use him to test the strength of the demon beast, smirked arrogantly to himself as he prided himself over having ruined Xuan Hao’s little plan to try and use them to pressure the powerful demon beast into backing away with a little bribe.

Even if the demon beast was still intimidated by them, the demon beast would at least know that they weren’t on the same side any longer!

Or that was at least what the Land Creation Realm cultivator hoped would happen, but instead, he ended up shifting the focus away from Xuan Hao and onto himself, as the demon beast now saw him as the main enemy, while Xuan Hao ended up being categorized as nothing more than a subordinate doing what was ordered. Not much different from how it used its own subordinate demon beasts to do things for it.

A belief that was only strengthened by the fact that the Land Creation Realm cultivator just so happened to have a lot of subordinates following behind him. Making it almost seem like Xuan Hao had only been used to lure it over...
