Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

At the same time while Xuan Hao was making his way out of the Verdant Abyss together with Huo Fen and Meng Jie while thinking about how to ensure that the rest of the sect understood the importance of the Dao of Space, his second disciple, Chu Yang, officially emerged from seclusion. Having successfully managed to not only elevate his comprehension of the Dao of the Spear to the Peak of the Elementary Realm but also elevate his comprehension of the Dao of Blood to the Elementary Realm.

Although his Dao of Earth was still some distance away from reaching the Elementary Realm, it had also shown significant progress and only needed time to stabilize and an opportunity before he could break through to the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Earth.

His cultivation realm might not have increased and was still at the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm, but his overall strength had increased from being comparable to the second or maybe third tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm to being comparable to someone in the Fourth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm if he combined the strength of his Spear with the Dao of Blood.

”Huh? What in the world happened while I was in seclusion...?”

But the sense of accomplishment he felt after feeling his increase in strength didn’t last for long, as he soon enough discovered the massive city that should have been only a short distance away from where he had gone into seclusion had completely disappeared from the face of the earth.

Well... It might not be accurate to say that it had completely disappeared, as a few buildings remained barely standing, while materials that should once have been part of the city could be seen scattered all over the place.

The main reason he had realized something was wrong almost the second he had stepped out of the small cave he had sealed off during his seclusion was because one of the somewhat intact buildings had landed almost directly next to the entrance of his cave. The lower section of the building having been torn by the violent force that had sent the building flying the thousands of kilometers it had to fly to reach him from the original location of the city.

Did a battle perhaps break out between two major powers where one of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators ended up striking this city?

Thinking this to himself as he began to survey his surroundings, Chu Yang couldn’t think of any other reason behind the sudden destruction of such a massive city, as only someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm would have had the strength to cause this level of destruction.

But... Then came the obvious question... Why had he not sensed anything when such a clearly devastating battle had taken place right next to him?

In the end, the only reasonable explanation he could come up with was that the battle itself only lasted for a few short minutes while he had been deep in mediation. Ending so fast that he had no time to sense anything outside a potential shockwave that he could just as well have mistaken for someone weaker fighting nearby.

However, he had managed to learn a bit about these massive cities and understood that they were built to resist the attack of someone in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm for a short time. Allowing the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators on their side to show up. Even against someone in the Middle Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, the formation of the city should be able to last for some time. Long enough for him to have sensed something off.

Not the current situation where things had seemingly ended so fast that the Saint Grade Formation had barely been anything more than a broken fence easily broken apart by the aggressor.

Meaning, the strength of the one who had attacked the city should have far surpassed the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm!

”But... Why would someone that strong suddenly appear? Did an all-out war perhaps break out throughout the Eastern Central Region while I was in seclusion...?” Not able to stop himself from voicing out his thoughts as he looked around at the destruction all around him, Chu Yang felt a sense of profound fear washing over him. Understanding very well that he could have ended up being killed without even knowing how in the face of such a terrifying force.

The only reason why he had managed to survive being due to him being far enough away from the city to avoid the one-sided slaughter that had taken place not too far away.

But even though he had been lucky this time around, there was no saying this would continue to be the case if an all-out war had really broken out throughout the Eastern Central Region.

In just a few seconds, any sense of pride he had felt at increasing his own strength had completely disappeared, as he was now far more eager to find a way to learn about what had happened during his seclusion.

Not just to ensure his own safety, but also because he was genuinely curious about what could have caused this kind of destruction to break out in the Eastern Central Region which had still been restrained to some degree when it came to the mobilization of those above the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm and generally avoided targeting any major cities like the one that had been destroyed right next to where he had gone into seclusion.

The development was odd, but considering the rising tension throughout the continent with the attack of the demonic cultivators, he didn’t find it that unexpected and part of him even began suspecting that the demonic cultivators might have had something to do with the escalation, as they undoubtedly had some involvement in the wars throughout the Eastern Central Region and might have been preparing to trigger something big like an all-out war to weaken the overall strength of the different major powers in the Eastern Central Region.
