Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Seeing Huo Fen relaxing and agreeing to have him tag along while the two of them made their way back to the ancient alchemy sect ruins to refine the soul medicine that they had gone so far as to risk their lives getting their hands on, Xuan Hao found himself focusing his attention on getting out of the Verdant Abyss without encountering another dangerous demon beast like the one he had ended up provoking and dumping on to an unsuspecting Land Creation Realm cultivator not long ago.

After all, even though he had already managed to move far enough away from the dangerous core of the Verdant Abyss where Celestial Immortal Realm and more powerful demon beasts resided, there was still a very real possibility of him running into a wandering demon beast or a powerful group of cultivators.

Only if he managed to leave the Verdant Abyss and regained his ability to use the Dao of Space like normal would he feel confident enough to relax again, as only with the help of the Dao of Space did he feel any real confidence in dealing with someone in the Land Creation Realm, as without the Dao of Space, he didn’t have much of a chance facing off against someone in the Land Creation Realm and would at most be able to endure for a short time before being overwhelmed.

Utilizing the inherent ability of spatial collapse or partial spatial collapse was an option, but the reason he decided against doing that was because he feared any kind of major spatial disturbance could cause some kind of activation or change to the formation that covered the Verdant Abyss. Potentially triggering a hostile response that wouldn’t just be throwing him deeper into the Verdant Abyss.

The main reason for this being that causing a spatial collapse would directly damage the formation hidden within the spatial dimension of the Verdant Abyss in a way that prevented the formation from hiding deeper, as it would be a complete breakdown of the very fabric of space itself.

Although this method could indeed also be used to break the formation itself, it was unrealistic to do so with his current strength, as he would essentially need to cause a spatial collapse throughout the entire Verdant Abyss to destroy the formation in this kind of way, something he doubted he could accomplish even if he managed to reach the Origin Realm in the Dao of Space and break through to the Venerable Realm above the Profound Immortal Realm...

Shaking his head imagining just how powerful he would have to be to cause a spatial collapse across an area the size of the Verdant Abyss, Xuan Hao picked up the master disciple pair before explaining his intention to take the two of them out of the Verdant Abyss, causing both of them to be rather surprised in the process, as neither of them had realized that they had ended up inside the Verdant Abyss.

Then again, it wasn’t that surprising that they had no idea that they had ended up inside the Verdant Abyss, as the only real clue they had so far was the slight incline they had been climbing up through their journey through an ancient forest, a small incline that they might not even have noticed before he had grabbed the two of them and escaped along with them.

For all they knew, they might just have ended up inside some kind of ancient ruin or secret realm that had Celestial Immortal Realm demon beasts roaming around inside of it.

Although rare, it wasn’t odd considering they had no control over the spatial artifact they had used for their escape and their comprehension of the Dao of Space being too bad for them to even sense the direction they had been moving in.

Understandable as this might be for someone like Meng Jie who had only reached the Nascent Soul Realm, it was a bit surprising for someone like Huo Fen, who had reached the Middle Stage of the Dao Seed Realm, to have absolutely no comprehension of the Dao of Space beyond what was naturally archived through advancing his cultivation realm.

Even though he wanted to think of this as an outlier thing among Dao Seed Realm cultivators, it had become clear to him over time that it wasn’t that odd for someone to not even comprehend the Elementary Realm of the Dao of Space after reaching the Celestial Immortal Realm, let alone the Dao Seed Realm...

The rarity of the Dao of Space didn’t have as much to do with the fact that it was difficult Dao to comprehend, but more so seemed to be because it was deemed unnecessary by most cultivators who would naturally learn short distance teleportation and spatial manipulation through advancing their cultivation realm.

Even though they would never reach the same level of mastery as someone who had comprehended the Dao of Space when it came to these things, they could at least use them to some extent.

Feeling that he had to ensure that the Star Shattering Sect didn’t end up falling into the same kind of complacency and disregarded comprehending an important Dao like the Dao of Space, Xuan Hao decided to ensure that the sect’s elder’s would learn about the Dao of Space when they reached the Dao Seed Realm in the future- No, he would ensure that they learnt about the importance before that, so those talented enough could start comprehending the Dao of Space before that!

As Xuan Hao flew off with the master disciple pair thinking about how he had to ensure that the sect’s elders and disciples understood the importance of the Dao of Space in the future, the elders who would be first to learn about this from him when he returned to the sect all collectively felt a shiver run down their spine as they all felt like something terrible was about to happen to them. A premunition of sorts that hit all the elders at the same time...
