Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Bang-bang-bang!

As the demon beast began to violently attack the trapping formation to reach him and the Stardusk Essence, that it had clearly sensed would be able to help increase its strength, Xuan Hao began preparing himself to escape with Huo Fen and Meng Jie the second the trapping formation was broken. Understanding very well that he stood no chance fighting the demon beast even in its weakened state.

Not to mention, even if he ended up getting lucky and killed the demon beast, it would take far too long. By the time the battle came to an end, the Land Creation Realm cultivator would be on top of him.

Instead of taking the risk and fighting in his current exhausted state for a potential chance to obtain the dead body of a demon beast comparable to a Land Creation Realm cultivator, it was far safer to use what little strength he had left to escape from the Verdant Abyss and make use of his comprehension of the Dao of Space to get somewhere safe to fully recover his strength before going to the ancient alchemy sect with the master disciple pair.

Rumble~

Craaaaack-!

For this reason, as the trapping formation finally began to crack under the constant attack of the demon beast and the suppressive force that had forced him to expend what little qi he had left to protect himself and the master disciple pair began to weaken, Xuan Hao didn’t hesitate to take the opportunity to recover some of his strength. Knowing that he would need every bit of qi he could recover to successfully escape from the Verdant Abyss.

After all, outside of the Land Creation Realm cultivator and demon beast, he also had to worry about potentially running into other cultivators or bandits along the way.

Although the chance of something like that happening was low, it wasn’t zero. Meaning he would at least have to be prepared in case he ended up running into another group of Celestial Immortal Realm bandits...

CRAAACK! BAAANG!

And as these thoughts passed through his head, a loud crack echoed out behind him, as he turned around just in time to witness the demon beast successfully breaking through the trapping formation before using all its remaining strength to charge toward him filled with both killing intent and greed.

Time to leave...

Whoosh-!

Feeling the final bit of suppressive power of the formation disappearing at the same time, Xuan Hao didn’t hesitate, as he grabbed the master disciple pair once again before executing the Illusory Light Steps to escape in the opposite direction of the demon beast charging towards him. Heading directly towards the official border that separated the Verdant Abyss from the rest of the Western Central Region.

A border that he soon found himself in awe of, as he saw it for the first time outside the spatial void where he had first encountered it.

Stretching as far as the eye could see, a towering wall of flashing formation symbols blocked the path forward. The direct manifestation of the massive formation that covered the entirety of the Verdant Abyss and by far also the most powerful formation he had ever seen before, as even the guardian formation of the mystic realm didn’t seem anywhere near as majestic as the formation covering the Verdant Abyss.

Although... That could also just be because he hadn’t had the opportunity to see the formation guarding the mystic realm in a similar way as he now saw the formation the covered the Verdant Abyss.

But all things considered, one thing he could be certain about when it came to the guardian formation of the mystic realm or the formation covering the Verdant Abyss, was the fact that both formations seemed to have exceeded the Saint Realm. Belonging to a realm of formations that could no longer be seen on the continent outside ancient relics of the past like the Verdant Abyss.

Just looking at the towering formation symbols that seemed to be the size of entire mountains flowing across the surface of the formations outline was more than enough to make him want to stop to try and comprehend the formation in person. Feeling that cultivating in the presence of such a majestic formation would see his comprehension of the Dao of Formations improve at a rate far beyond what could be archived under normal circumstances.

Looking into the distance and seeing countless cultivators sitting close the one of the mountain sized formation symbols that seemed to have come to a halt as it was slowly fading out of view, he understood that he wasn’t the only one who had this kind of idea, as the towering formation covering the Verdant Abyss seemed to have attracted countless formation master to come and comprehend the Dao of Formations through the towering formation.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have the luxury of doing something like that, as he was still being chased by a demon beast that seemed to have become increasingly enraged over the past few minutes after realizing it couldn’t easily catch up to him.

Stopping for even a second to admire the towering ancient formation symbols would throw away the small distance still left between the two of them and give the demon beast the opportunity to catch up with and attack him. Essentially throwing away the opportunity he had created for himself to escape from the Verdant Abyss.

After all, the qi he had left inside his dantian was only barely enough to propel him out of the Verdant Abyss and execute a single long-distance teleportation. Far from enough to resist even a single attack from the demon beast chasing after him-

RUUUUMBLLEEE-!

But as he thought about this to himself, a more terrifying situation played out, as the powerful divine sense of the Land Creation Realm cultivator that he had been able to ignore so far seemed to have finally caught up with him. Making it clear he had dealt with the heavenly blade and was about to catch up with him and the demon beast...
