Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Not long after, Xuan Hao found the winged lion demon beast at the border of the sect engaged in battle with a powerful demonic cultivator no weaker than someone who had reached the Fifth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Relam.

Even though its strength was clearly weaker than this demonic cultivator, it still managed to hold its own against the demonic cultivator because of its strong body that surpassed that of ordinary demon beasts at the Fourth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm.

If things continued as they were, it wouldn’t be surprising if the battle between the two of them dragged on for the next week, as both also had a terrifying recovery rate that helped them recover from most of the damage that they ended up suffering during the battle, while at the same time helping them rapidly recover the qi that they used during their fight.

In a sense, Xuan Hao also felt that this demonic cultivator was rather impressive, as he managed to hold his own against the winged lion demon beast with this kind of terrifying recovery ability.

Although… He didn’t figure out why the winged lion demon beast’s strength had increased so rapidly, as there was no sign of it becoming overwhelmed like it had been in the past after eating from the body of the terrifying demonic cultivator who had fallen at the edge of the sect’s territory.

Instead of that, the winged lion demon beast’s foundation seemed to be completely stable. Surprising considering that it had broken through two minor realms in the Soul Ascension Realm over the past month, a speed that should have been impossible for it to achieve under normal circumstances.

”Hm? Its strength is still increasing…!?”

Continuing to watch the winged lion demon beast and the demonic cultivator as they fought each other through his divine sense, Xuan Hao could not help noticing that the strength of the winged lion demon beast was still growing rapidly. Not just that, but the demonic cultivator that it was fighting was also growing in strength at the same time. Keeping up a growth speed that was no slower than the demon beast that he was fighting.

Both of them are rapidly growing like this while fighting… Is it perhaps the reason behind the winged lion demon beast’s growth over the past month, but… How long have these two been fighting for them to have grown to such an extent?!

Realizing that he might be unto the reason why the winged lion demon beast was growing so rapidly, or at least having picked up a clue as to the reason behind its rapid growth, Xuan Hao didn’t waste any time as he contacted a few of the Domain Lord Realm Elders stationed on the border of the sect to inquire about the situation.

As a result of this, he soon ended up learning that this demonic cultivator and the winged lion demon beast had been fighting each other without any break for the past three weeks! A terrifyingly long battle that would under normal circumstances not play out unless it was in some kind of isolated region where others couldn’t interfere with the battle.

The only reason why the battle could continue was because none of the elders from the Star Shattering Sect were powerful enough to participate, while those at the side of the demonic cultivator were fearful of making a move due to neither of the two fighting to the death showing any sign of weakness over the past three weeks.

Instead of weakness, it seemed like the two of them were only growing stronger as time continued to pass. Making the other True Demon Realm demonic cultivators even less incentivized to make a move and try to fish in troubled waters.

At the same time, the terrifying battle between the two also intimidated any of the other True Demon Realm demonic cultivators from making a move on the Star Shattering Sect’s territory, a rather unexpected outcome, as it allowed the sect to operate normally and hunt down demonic cultivators safely even with the winged lion demon beast busy fighting all of the time.

Of course, even though the True Demon Realm demonic cultivators didn’t make a move, the disciples from the Star Shattering sect still had to avoid the death zone where the winged lion demon beast and the demonic cultivator were fighting each other. An area that even Domain Lord Realm cultivators would end up dead going in to, as even the weakest attack thrown out by the winged lion demon beast and the demonic cultivator would be more than enough to kill them.

But… What is it that is causing the two of them to improve so rapidly?

Filled with even more confusion as he continued watching the battle between the two and seeing how both of them seemed to continue growing stronger without being able to find any reason for this rapid increase in strength from both his pet and the demonic cultivator, Xuan Hao decided to go and investigate the situation personally to see if he could find something by going there instead of just using his divine sense to watch the situation from afar.

After all, he had encountered several situations in the past where his divine sense wasn’t capable of perceiving something that was directly in front of him.

One such example of this being the mountain with the celestial gate on top of it inside of the mystic realm. Even standing directly in front of that mountain guarded by some kind of illusion-based formation, he wasn’t able to see it with his divine sense.

Whoosh¨

Using the Dao of Space with his current cultivation realm and comprehension, Xuan Hao only took a short time to reach the border where the winged lion demon beast and the demonic cultivator were fighting each other to death.

”This-!?”

It was only after reaching the border that Xuan Hao realized that the situation of the winged lion demon beast and the demonic cultivator was different from what he had seen through his divine sense.

Instead of it being solely a fight between the demon beast and the demonic cultivator, Xuan Hao clearly noticed that there were countless small blood-colored tendrils, invisible to his divine sense, covering the demonic cultivator and his pet.

Looking more closely, it was obvious that these blood-colored tendrils were attached to the two fighters and providing both of them with an ample supply of qi and at the same time also helping slowly increase their strength in the process as they kept fighting each other.

Of course, even though these blood-colored tendrils that seemed to cover everything within a few thousand meters of where the two were fighting with each other, it was also clear that both the demonic cultivator and his pet were completely unaware of the existence of these blood-colored tendrils.

Even if they had noticed something unusual at this point in time, neither of them had the time to investigate what it was, as they were occupied with fighting each other.

Not to mention, what they were experiencing wasn’t negatively affecting them, but instead some kind of precious opportunity that allowed their strength to rapidly grow.

Suspicious as they both might be, no one would willingly give up such an opportunity to rapidly increase their strength. Especially considering that there were no negative effects and both of them were smoothly improving with a stable foundation and no side effects.

”…”

Of course, given that Xuan Hao could see the countless red tendrils behind this rapid increase in strength and seemingly inexhaustible energy that the two of them possessed, he didn’t believe that the one behind the red tendrils was just planning to help improve their strength for no reason.

Because of this, Xuan Hao didn’t waste any time before starting to track the origin of the red tendrils, as even though they were still invisible to his divine sense, he could still see them without using his divine sense. Allowing him to follow the red tendrils as one of them extended beyond the thousand or so meter range of the two fighters and stretched towards somewhere deeper inside the Frozen Wastelands.

Although Xuan Hao had already somewhat expected this upon seeing the strange blood-colored tendrils, he now confirmed in his mind that this should be some kind of scheme by one of the powerful demonic cultivators of the Frozen Wastelands.

Even though he had no idea what this demonic cultivator was planning to do, he was certain that it wouldn’t be anything good for the Star Shattering Sect, as it would undoubtedly end up drawing unwanted attention towards the sect if a Demon King Realm demonic cultivator decided to try causing trouble there.

The main problem was not even the attention it would draw, but more so the problem that would follow if the Star Shattering Sect, as an ancient hidden sect, wasn’t able to handle a single Demon King Realm demonic cultivator, a situation Xuan Hao wanted to avoid taking place if possible.
