Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Getting closer to the location where the battle was taking place, Chu Yang made sure that he didn’t get too close to any of the other Domain Lord Realm cultivators that he had noticed along the way. Not wanting to end up changing the current state of things and ending up as the primary target of everyone here.

The main reason for that was the fact that he had already encountered around seven people hiding in the dark observing the battle that was taking place. All of them between the Seventh Stage and Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

Although they were clearly weaker than the two currently locked in battle with each other, their numbers more than made up for it. Even more so, considering that there was a high chance that he hadn’t found all of the people hiding in the dark observing the battle that had now moved towards the edge of the ruins and was starting to scale the side of the towering mountain.

At the same time, the large number of Domain Lord Realm cultivators present did give him some confidence in his earlier thought that the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators should be fighting for something that they had found in the ruins.

Not just that but given that all of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators around him were still silently observing the ongoing battle, it was clear that it wasn’t that simple of a matter to take the thing they were fighting for away…

Hm? This is…

Finally arriving at the edge of the battle itself, Chu Yang could not help freezing with a shocked expression on his face. Finally able to see what the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators were fighting each other to the death for.

… A Source Crystal?

Although his knowledge was rather limited when it came to certain special heavenly treasures, Chu Yang still recognized the small crystal that the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators were fighting each other to the death for.

Understanding what it was and just how useful it would be for his own cultivation; Chu Yang could not help understanding why there were so many Domain Lord Realm cultivators gathered around the ruins waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Unfortunately, even if he wanted to get his hands on the source crystal, it was clear that it wouldn’t be a simple thing to accomplish, as the crystal in question was currently at the center of the battle, caught between the domain of the two fighters who were doing their best to prevent either party from getting their hands on the source crystal and putting it into their interspatial ring.

To get that source crystal, he would have to join the battle and try to use his domain to pull it away from those two, something easier said than done. Especially considering that there was no way the Domain Lord Realm cultivators watching everything from the dark would allow him to do something like that. Not to mention those two fighting to the death…

But… Chu Yang didn’t just plan to give up on something as useful as a source crystal!

Swish-!

So, with that in mind, Chu Yang went and did what the Domain Lord Realm cultivators hiding in the dark were too scared of doing. Directly jumping out to join the fight for the source crystal under the surprised and shocked looks of not only the two fighting to the death, but also those hiding in the dark.

”Huh!?”

”WHO DARES!?”

Met with the angry roar of the Ninth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator and the surprised look of the Eighth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator, Chu Yang didn’t bother explaining himself, as he directly rushed forward to grab the source crystal. Using the momentary stunned and surprised state of the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators to close the distance and use his spear to forcefully break their hold on the source crystal before grabbing it and placing it into his interspatial ring.

Success!

Smiling happily to himself as he felt the source crystal now inside his interspatial ring, Chu Yang could not help patting himself on the back for his successful plan of rushing in and using the confusion of the entire thing to break the hold of those two powerful Domain Lords and grabbing the source crystal before they could react.

Although this had been his plan from the start when he decided to act, he had honestly not expected it to work as smoothly as it had. Having expected to at least have to fight back against those two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators at the final step.

Luckily, it seemed like his sudden move went completely against the current state of things. Completely catching the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators off guard, as they had never expected someone to be bold enough to make a move while they were still fighting and in a relatively healthy state. Especially so considering that the one doing something like that would not only become their target but would also become the target of all those who were hiding in the ruins waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Yes, they were aware of all the people hiding around them and observing their fight, but, they had already thought of different solutions to this kind of problem in case they ended up winning.

The only thing they hadn’t expected was for someone to suddenly make an unexpected move and go for the source crystal before they had even exhausted their strength and were still showing that they had more than enough strength to continue fighting.

”””…”””

Not just the two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators, the rest of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators were similarly in a shocked state. None of them expected that there would actually be someone stupid enough to charge forward and make himself the primary target of everyone present.

”Well… Guess it’s time for me to take my leave…”

Sensing the countless pairs of eyes that seemed to be focused on him at this moment, Chu Yang understood that it wouldn’t be good for him to continue staying around the ruins any longer-

Whoosh-!

And so, without any hesitation, he directly used all of his strength to run away before he ended up surrounded and attacked by the Domain Lord Realm cultivators present.

”This- After him! Don’t let him escape!”

Waking up from the shocked and stunned state that seemed to have affected all of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators present following the source crystal being taken away by Chu Yang, the Eighth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator was the first to recover, as he called out to the rest of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators. Waking all of them up from their stunned state. Soon enough causing all of them to be filled with killing intent, as they wasted no time in rushing after Chu Yang.

Unfortunately for them, Chu Yang had managed to rush out of the circle that had been created around the battle for the source crystal by these hidden Domain Lord Realm cultivator when they recovered from their stunned state.

However, even with this advantage in distance created between himself and the close to two dozen Domain Lord Realm cultivators chasing after him filled with killing intent and greed, Chu Yang still wasn’t safe, and the disadvantage of his bad movement technique soon began to show itself.

Even if it wasn’t that bad among Domain Lord Realm cultivators, it was still far inferior when compared to the Ninth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator and the even stronger Eighth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator.

Though he had managed to create a significant distance between himself and the group of Domain Lord Relam cultivators, it would only take those two around half a minute or at most a minute to close the distance he had managed to create between himself and them, a clear show of just how bad his movement technique and speed was compared to theirs.

Not to mention, the main reason he was even able to keep such a distance for around a minute was due to the fact that it was around that time he could keep his short-distance and close combat movement technique active without any problems.

I really have to find a way to shake them off, or I won’t be able to keep the source crystal- Hm? Source crystal… Now that I think about it, when master talked about the source crystal back then, he did mention something about a guardian of some kind born alongside the source crystal, but… Where is this supposed guardian? Did those two kill it before I arrived?

Lost in his own thoughts as he continued escaping, Chu Yang suddenly remembered what his master had told him about source crystals in the past, though… He quickly realized that something rather core to the existence of said core crystal seemed to be missing for some reason…
