Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2390: Chapter 2385: Signs of Losing Control

So was it because of this that Professor Lisa went to report? The value she places on my opinion is touching.

Cass suddenly made a startling remark, vaguely revealing his intentions. At that moment, Fu Qian felt Lisa’s trust within it.

From the looks of it, although the person in question claimed nothing was wrong during the on-site diagnosis, they still went to seek someone else’s help after I left.

As for now, the situation seems even simpler — if the re-examination showed nothing wrong, why would Cass hastily come to this place he hadn’t visited in years?

”Yes, to be precise, it wasn’t just because of not resting well last night, but something before that.”

Seeing that Professor Lisa didn’t speak, only glanced over with some unease, Fu Qian nodded slightly, and without any hesitation, added another remark.

”So where do you feel something is amiss?”

Ignoring Lisa, whose face turned pale, Cass shifted his gaze over naturally and continued to ask.

”It’s like being nourished by nature, in a state of continuous growth.”

Fu Qian, knowing everything without holding back, casually described the results of the optical radar observation.

...

Honestly, it even sounds like a positive effect.

Leveling up while idle is something that’s hard to refuse, even for the most carefree players.

Although as the person in question, Professor Lisa didn’t seem to have a relieved expression.

From this angle alone, guarding the Divine Blood and Flesh seems to have been quite a valuable task distributed by Cass.

No matter how much she knows about Kaldora’s matters, at least the concept that power comes with a price is something Lisa deeply understands.

Gaining benefits without doing anything? It’s something that’s too easy to make people cautious.

”What do you think the cause might be?”

Not to mention the esteemed Dean of the Heaven’s Commencement Institute, who surprisingly didn’t deny this statement at that moment, but instead, continued to confirm the cause with Fu Qian.

”Hard to say, guessing there might be some environmental factors, some changes have happened where we stay recently.”

And Fu Qian really analyzed it seriously, gesturing towards the window as he casually recounted his academic life.

”Earlier, I went to the Benevolence Institute, and Professor Ah Kai had some accident, a group of people searched for him for quite a while.

”And in this process, they seemed to discover something special, which could even alter the effects of a Miracle.”

Indeed, what Fu Qian referred to was exactly Professor Boyd’s discovery, and it was almost the only gain in the previous events during the trip to the Benevolence Institute.

An invisible snow covering the entire Academy, which became more intense due to some incomprehensible effect.

When I arrived, the group immediately reported this finding.

Clearly, for Boyd and the others, they’ve already contemplated multiple times about the relationship between Ah Kai’s disappearance and this effect.

And at this time, the importance of cross-boundary became apparent.

To solve the unexpected incident that happened within the Benevolence Institute, the mentors indeed searched very diligently, but this preconceived notion precisely narrowed their thinking.

For Fu Qian, the first person that came to mind was the somewhat mentally excessive Professor Lisa.

Why must this special effect be confined within the boundaries of the Benevolence Institute?

Especially when Professor Ah Kai was found afterward, the accident analysis report seemed not to include it.

In any case, this is why Fu Qian didn’t spend effort on that discovery, even when Boyd later suggested it to Lanaia, he directly stated it was under control.

And it’s even why the arrival of Lisa was not that surprising.

”The power of a Miracle is indeed astonishing, even for me, I can only roughly infer this possibility.”

At this moment, Cass sighed deeply in response to such a statement, also vaguely expressing agreement.

”Especially when you are under influence yourself.”

...

Ah?

Though the exchange earlier had gradually become absurd, Professor Lisa still maintained her awareness and refrained from participating.

Until Cass’s final comment, she finally couldn’t hold back.

With a low exclamation, she turned her head, only to see Cass extending a strangely bony hand.

Bony and skeletal, with a grayish-yellow hue, it appeared quite unhealthy. But at a glance, it was at least still a human arm.

At that moment, Fu Qian also took a closer look, and although absurd at first glance, it wasn’t too outrageous.

Fu Qian was one of the few who knew about Cass’s special constitution. Perhaps not transforming like Lisa who belonged to Extraordinary Creatures, but due to the ritual and materials for ascending to Demigod, the Heaven’s Commencement Institute’s dean’s constitution had some similarity with Lisa’s.

The unusual vertical pupils were the evidence.

So if suddenly some reptilian scales emerged on Cass, the scene wouldn’t be strange.

”Your condition doesn’t seem very ideal.”

However, it didn’t mean there were no changes. Silently watching that hand for a moment, Fu Qian shook his head and sighed.

The scales hadn’t grown, but the gray-yellow skin was moving.

Textured, porous, keratinous... everything seemed to have lost its foundation.

Perhaps not obvious, but for Fu Qian, it was too easy to notice these flows.

Like a previously calm sea, suddenly imbued with some special liveliness, currents everywhere.

”Of course not, this is a sign of losing control.”

Confronting the sharp criticism, Cass accepted it with great openness, casually mentioning a word that all Transcendents fear.

”How could this happen?”

For instance, Lisa clearly got startled, her own issues instantly thrown aside.

”This is also what I want to figure out. The good news is that it seems Professor Fu already has some ideas. My decision to come here wasn’t wrong.”

The situation seemed somewhat dire, but Cass still waved his hand, indicating Lisa should stay seated, not to worry.

Hmm...

And Lisa not only fully cooperated by staying seated, but even slightly closed her eyes.

...

Youthful people really sleep well.

In the brief exchange, the situation had rapidly deteriorated.

But gazing at Lisa, who seemed immersed in some sweet dream, Fu Qian at that moment expressed a bit of envy.

Of course, Professor Lisa wasn’t this sleepy. Anyone could guess, even with toes, that this change was Cass’s doing.

A Demigod against a Fourth Phase, not to mention level suppression, and Cass originally knew Lisa thoroughly, making it easy to handle.

The only question was, why do this?

”Regrettably, my attempts still seemed imperfect, leaving hidden dangers.”

Even without Fu Qian asking, the next moment Cass sighed deeply, voluntarily explaining.

”My original idea was that regular contact with Kaldora’s Flesh and Blood could help maintain Lisa’s balance.

”Unexpectedly, this place called the Academy seems somewhat off.”
