Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2354: Chapter 2349: Where There Is God, There Is a Way

Hmph, do you think the name of this professor was added casually?

In the laboratory with a somewhat unserious atmosphere, Fu Qian stood with his hands behind his back, and at that moment it was extremely quiet.

Though most of the work on this collaborative project was completed by Professor Lisa, all previous statements were always reliable.

Heaven’s Commencement Institute is a legitimate research institution.

Although people like myself and Cass may not have the time and energy to be on the front lines, we can help provide research conditions on the one hand, and on the other hand, in our busy schedules, we can still offer some high-level guidance.

Commonly known as empty talk.

Professor Lisa’s reaction already indicated this point.

The conception put forward earlier was indeed set a bit too high, such that it couldn’t be considered wrong, but couldn’t be praised as brilliant either, resulting in a silence that was neither here nor there.

”It’s just a sudden feeling, far from being proven.”

Fortunately, Professor Fu had also engaged in legitimate academic work, never losing the core quality of speaking with facts, and soon spoke again, indicating they were still at the conjecture stage.

”Lately I’ve encountered quite a few peculiar things, especially in the realm of ancient history.”

Before Lisa could say anything, he continued to speak eloquently.

”It seems that the concept of innate divine beings is something we cannot bypass.

”Of course, the secrets behind this are too numerous, and it isn’t appropriate to treat it as a research topic for now, but I wonder if what you’re working on could serve as a small piece of the puzzle?”

With undeniable high hopes, Fu Qian casually elevated Professor Lisa’s work to the pinnacle of mysticism.

”Without asking about origins, suppose such a Superior Being was born in the void, how would they view this world? What could possibly instill fear in them?”

...

”Being replaced...”

As a matter of fact, Professor Lisa’s understanding was indeed up to par.

In the face of the temporary supervisor’s academic guidance, after a brief mental struggle, she seemed to finally confirm it wasn’t a joke.

And upon speaking again, Lisa apparently had begun to follow the train of thought.

”Having the same mighty powers among peers may be terrifying, but the greatest threat is those who follow along the same path afterward... However, such a requirement assumes a premise: that with the appearance of ’God,’ there must also be a divine road.”

And the potency of elevated thought came into play, as Professor Lisa narrated, what had previously been a tipped assembly game now had an almost epic feel.

”Exactly, that’s what we were just discussing... and I think we can set aside the cause for now, and treat proving this point as the core of the project’s next step, perhaps calling it the first law of mysticism.”

Fu Qian nodded, highlighting additionally that mysticism is a grand undertaking, with only the portion they are responsible for needing concern.

The first law...

”It’s certainly a unique idea, but could it be that in the end, we’re simply overthinking it?”

Yet the name given was indeed somewhat overbearing; Lisa hesitated for a while, and when she spoke again, she hoped for a cautious approach.

”Surely, having such thoughts suggests I’ve witnessed suspicious phenomena, the relationship between Superior Beings and the divine road might be more abstract than imagined, I’ve even seemed to sense some underlying logic of this world from it.”

Fu Qian had no dissatisfaction whatsoever, patiently explaining.

Approving a project has always required leadership to keep a strict gate; this is a responsibility.

The case he referred to was not unsubstantiated; in a recently completed task, the interaction between the Righteous and the Redeemer was obviously thought-provoking.

And even earlier, there was the example of the Pseudo-God Ritual he had personally experienced.

”...but it still requires a basic premise, that a Superior Being was indeed born from nothing.”

Whether it be current ability, or past accomplishments, Professor Fu’s words carried conviction, amidst brows furrowed in contemplation, Professor Lisa’s interest was palpable.

But before ultimately accepting the suggestion, she hadn’t forgotten another concern.

”Rest assured, that I’m even more certain of.”

In response to her, came Professor Fu’s firm opinion.

Not to mention, just recently he had encountered the Witch of innate divinity.

”Alright... I will do my utmost henceforth to search for evidence proving this ’first law.’”

And by this point, Lisa clearly made up her mind, examining the loaded table with a solemn look.

”Very well, but now let’s apply our imagination again, continuing on the topic of ’fear of being replaced.’”

However, the briefing led by Professor Fu was not an easy ride, he promptly indicated to continue expanding on imagination.

”Imagine if it were you, after discovering such a threat, what would you do?”

...

Focusing on young people’s imagination, was never just in words.

Ever since a while ago, there had been inklings for Fu Qian on certain matters.

But looking down from the top, this notion was indeed somewhat inspired by the small project Professor Lisa was responsible for.

As for that peculiar place, the Bone Spirit Realm, it had been evaluated long ago, potentially as a pure and straightforward model of the Godhood Sequence, aptly used to represent certain things.

And the chain derived from it by Lisa was ultimately truly linked by Fu Qian to the pinnacle of the Transcendent path.

”Naturally, is to attempt the elimination of the threat.”

And rightfully possessing past experiences as an Extraordinary Creature, Professor Lisa displayed sensitivity and decisiveness concerning safety far exceeding ordinary humans.

”Such measures are inevitable; you can’t rely on gambling with others’ ambition, for even in a unique situation relative to a Superior Being’s extended lifespan, probabilities exist.”

Perhaps realizing her expression was too jungle-like, Lisa quickly added another sentence.

”Reasonable, so how do we eliminate it?”

But she clearly underestimated Professor Fu’s openness, who merely indicated to speak freely.

”Directly eliminate? Considering the control over the current Sequence, it should be entirely feasible.”

Encouraged, Professor Lisa’s responses became even more straightforward.

”What else?”

As expected, Professor Fu nodded without change in expression.

”Set obstacles for advancement? For instance, concealing some essential elements?”

Unsurprisingly, Lisa quickly came up with a new idea.

”Very good, anything more?”

Yet Professor Fu continued to encourage.

”Furthermore... establish a stable system?”

This time Lisa took a significantly longer time pondering, and then at a certain moment she abruptly looked up, lights in her eyes shining brightly and intimidatingly.

”Eliminating could lead to new threats appearing, better let relatively more reliable individuals hold the position and keep them constantly monitored?”

”Well said.”

Strict Professor Fu finally revealed a slight hint of satisfaction.

”I think we may have uncovered a potential motive for the multitude of faiths prior to the Long Night.”
