Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2373: Chapter 2368: Adjusting Time

”We,” Professor Luo Bu seemed quite receptive, indeed went to bother Lanaya.

Leaders always find people to deal with problems, and once again, this was demonstrated at this moment.

”Sit.”

Even though it was late at night, Fu Qian casually gestured for him to sit down.

”After hearing what I had to say, Professor Lanaya quickly put aside her work and went with me to find the instructors at the Benevolence Institute... The instructors were quite interested too, and they are still investigating there.”

Unconsciously impressed by the leadership aura and realizing that his calmness still needed improvement, Luo Bu immediately sat down as suggested and further explained the current situation.

Things were quite as expected, whether or not one likes to ramble, when Professor Lanaya encounters an issue, her sense of responsibility can be relied upon.

”Oh? Any findings?”

Nodding slightly, Fu Qian directly asked about the most crucial aspect.

”... Not yet.”

Luo Bu was momentarily stunned, his momentum slightly dwindling.

”I also told the several instructors about the mushroom issue, and their reactions were about the same, unable to imagine its specific application.

”Including the office side, and even the entire Benevolence Institute, several instructors tried various methods to test, so far without any discovery, Ah Kai just vanished like he evaporated.”

According to his description, although the instructors at the Benevolence Institute don’t like to stay in the office, their sense of responsibility and curiosity are equally strong—

”Is that so, then no need to go.”

Unfortunately, this spirit didn’t seem to impress Professor Fu, who refused Luo Bu’s invitation without blinking.

...

”Where is Professor Lanaya now?”

It’s clear that this refusal took Luo Bu by surprise, and during his silence, Fu Qian continued to inquire.

”She returned first, asking me to keep watch over there...”

This question seemed to touch his soul, and Luo Bu answered instinctively.

”So you just keep watch there, communicate more with the instructors, and let me know if there are any findings.”

Fu Qian wasn’t surprised by this answer, even giving the same suggestion as Lanaya.

”From the time you went to check until now, not even twelve hours have passed.”

Seeing Luo Bu looking a bit baffled, Fu Qian took some extra effort to explain.

”Even an ordinary person outside wouldn’t meet the standards for a missing person’s case, and Professor Lanaya’s reaction is already very diligent.

”I believe with her leadership and professional enthusiasm, the instructors will do their utmost, so just wait for good news.”

It seemed true...

Luo Bu took this guidance to heart, gaining more understanding of Professor Lanaya’s actions.

Indeed, essentially it was just a temporary inability to find someone, and it hasn’t been that long...

Moreover, instructors at the Academy often have unusual antics...

The probability of strange occurrences is much higher than with ordinary people.

Professor Lanaya’s arrangement can already be considered quite diligent, and waiting there with no results is meaningless.

”Understood, I will continue with the instructors and try all imaginable efforts.”

Realizing this, Luo Bu even calmed down significantly, indicating his immediate return to the front line.

Regarding Professor Fu’s side, he also didn’t ask for any additional help.

No need indeed, amidst numerous recent events, this newly-promoted demigod of Heaven’s Commencement Institute has a truly outstanding record, providing peace of mind.

Even if there’s no intention to accompany for another trip, Luo Bu believes that Professor Fu must be exerting himself to the fullest.

”Thank you for your hard work.”

And in response to his statement, as expected, the other party did not attempt to make him stay, just casually encouraging him.

...

It is said that one of a leader’s core abilities is to sort out priorities.

Finding people for problems is alright; it can be pushed out, letting it find the right people.

The departing figure of Professor Luo Bu was not dim, but instead seemed a bit more determined.

Watching this scene, Fu Qian felt no shame about his laziness.

If empathy were so easily achieved, Professor Ah Kai wouldn’t be called the new star of the Benevolence Institute for nothing.

It’s perfectly normal that several enthusiastic instructors can’t find a direction in his pioneering research.

In essence, this arrangement falls within the scope of doing one’s best.

Although Luo Bu’s concern was correct, Professor Ah Kai’s disappearance is worrisome.

Including Professor Lanaya, they likely share a similar view—

”Did Luo Bu come by?”

It wasn’t long before Fu Qian’s nighttime contemplation was interrupted, precisely by the head of the Punishment Department walking in through the open door.

”Yes, he came by.”

Gazing at Lanaya, who hadn’t been seen for several days, Fu Qian made the same gesture as moments ago, inviting her to sit down as well.

”Do you think the situation might be a bit complicated? Should more resources be mobilized?”

Appearing somewhat unexpectedly, in the face of Professor Fu’s tendency to create more tasks for herself, Lanaya’s gaze was somewhat complicated but she didn’t rush to complain, instead directly confirming whether to escalate the incident.

”It feels that way, but using more resources might not be useful.”

Being overly indulgent aside, when it matters, Professor Lanaya’s professional qualities are reassuring.

Alongside being very responsible, eventually, she couldn’t resist coming over.

While giving high praise, Fu Qian candidly expressed his pessimism in response to Lanaya’s inquiry.

...

”These guys are really troublesome, they just calmed down for a few days!”

It’s evident that regardless of Professor Fu’s disagreeable impression, his competence is equally persuasive.

Having received such bad news so straightforwardly, Lanaya couldn’t help but massage her forehead, no longer concealing her frustration.

”Are you sure it’s unrelated to the previous meteor incident? The Night Watchman might be interested.”

Before Fu Qian could say anything, she had already further inquired about another matter.

”Can’t be certain, might be related, but at this time Lord Stos and the others just left, and may not return so quickly.”

Fu Qian’s response remained sincere.

”... Then what do you plan to do? Let the people at the Benevolence Institute figure it out on their own? Indeed, they are more adept with peculiar things—what are you doing?”

Lanaya quickly confirmed Fu Qian’s thoughts with an even more clouded expression, and abruptly interrupted herself after quickly voicing her assumptions, frowning as she stared at what he was holding.

Her reaction is understandable, as since entering, she noticed a shiny thing being fiddled with, which hasn’t stopped until now, and it appears to be a ring?

”This? Adjusting some time.”

In response to her puzzlement, Fu Qian glanced down, then casually displayed the ”Tyrant’s Mechanical Fist,” explaining calmly.
