Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2388: Chapter 2383: The Generalized Conspiracy Theory

The living environment for Superiors in this world is indeed somewhat harsh.

Professor Ah Kai across from him had a face still full of confusion and even pain. Still, at that moment, Fu Qian seemed to have already found the answer with his help.

Although the specific content of the answer seemed almost terrifying—

Could it even be a kind of systematic persecution, where Red Moon isn’t the only one suffering from such a ”curse”?

As mentioned earlier, the introduction of zero as a concept was indeed a pioneering move.

Disappearance events, which were previously incomprehensible to even the Jade Soul Master, can immediately be categorized in the same broad range as Red Moon.

No wonder people say one must free their mind; without such a comparison, explaining the question raised by one’s Heart Demon would almost inevitably push the world towards nihilism, thus increasing elements of Doomsday.

Now, relative to Nepheli’s pessimistic conclusions, it seems the world has been pulled back a bit.

From this perspective, it seems it can even partly explain why many of his old friends have become so low-key, like the Prism of Radiant Transformation.

When Night Holy City decisively showed itself and went all out to help him advance, one of its actions was to call out the Sun in the middle of the night.

And the most striking impression was when he gazed into it, the wills that looked back at him, one after the other.

Silent, struggling, twisted, yet longing for the outside world... causing the description at the time to be like a group of prisoners in Purgatory.

Looking at it now, could this name have an alternative appropriateness?

Indeed, they are a group of prisoners, but what traps them is not the form of the Sun, but the concept of ”Sun”?

Just like the ”Moon” and ”Zero” here.

Surely, there’s a bit more of them, somewhat defying intuition, not easily leading thoughts in this direction at first.

But let’s not forget, compared to the Moon, the Sun is naturally much larger, so what’s the problem with containing a few more?

Of course, this is still a dark conjecture, far from being proven, with several related doubts unanswered.

For instance, if they are truly victims of the same type, what cosmic force drives this persecution?

Conspirators like the First Generation Dark Moon? An indescribable supreme will? Or simply the foundational rules of the universe?

What is the relationship between imprisoning dozens of prisoners under the concept of the Sun and the fallen Ancient Sun God, Lord of Bliss, and Ancient Ekhart’s allegiance to the ”Unbearable Wheel”?

Is It also a conspirator, or a victim?

Even if It is entirely innocent in this regard, who caused Its downfall?

And does Annalise, the one whom Red Moon refers to as ”anticipating the Long Night,” know all of this? Is this why she anticipates it?

If so, how did she come to know?

For Fu Qian, various ancient secrets encountered since entering the profession seemed to connect more smoothly at this moment.

Of course, it inevitably brings more unknowns.

However, it doesn’t matter; academics never fear ignorance brought by knowledge.

”Either void, or nothingness...but in any case not an adjective but a noun. Do you think this describes your feelings accurately?”

In contemplation, while facing Ah Kai, who was obviously somewhat overburdened, Fu Qian did not delay in continuing to verify.

Academic research, both lofty and grounded, compared to the Ancient Sun God, there is a more practical research subject at hand.

Although the form of power is somewhat ever-changing, Melia is undoubtedly a very suitable sample.

On the one hand, there’s the orthodox declaration, and on the other, an ”affinity” candidate can be verified at the appropriate time.

”Zero... correct, an appropriate description.”

And until this moment, it’s as if Ah Kai finally woke from a dream, raising his head abruptly yet not so steadily.

But even in such circumstances, the earnestness of a researcher was still evident.

Confronted with the additional two suggestions from Fu Qian afterward, he firmly believed that ”Zero” was the most suitable.

”But why?”

Even before Fu Qian could comment, Ah Kai was instinctively chasing after the reason.

”A good question, but still, focus on the key points.”

In response, Professor Fu merely waved his hand, pointing out the steadiness exhibited once again.

”You’re here to troubleshoot potential issues, and from my judgment right now, there shouldn’t be much to worry about.”

...

Suspected to be at least three-faced in one body, each face teeming with vitality.

The faintly goddess-like quality of life in Melia, whether it originally had such capacity or split this way due to certain encounters, is undoubtedly an intriguing question.

In Fu Qian’s view, it aligns with the research question Ah Kai previously mentioned about why it would be ”Zero.”

But regardless, if this speculation holds true, Ah Kai’s concerns are not too necessary.

Melia’s manifestations post-curse are nowhere found in the annals of history, and theoretically, the power associated with Ah Kai should be similar, with a low chance of causing disruption.

To the extent that, from his perspective, not only are concerns somewhat alleviated, but it even becomes a good advancement choice—the ”It” of the affinity object isn’t around, but Its story is.

Meaning, risks are minimized while exploration continues.

”Ah?”

Although, for the person involved, this exchange might feel somewhat abrupt.

”...Understood, thank you.”

However, the reputation Professor Fu has accumulated over time undoubtedly lends great credibility to his words.

Subconsciously having accepted this optimistic outcome, Ah Kai, after a moment of surprise, had to admit that having the notion of ”Zero” indeed gives a more graspable sense of stability than before.

For the moment, he didn’t pursue the matter further but expressed his gratitude earnestly once more.

”Later you can further collaborate with Professor Luo Bu on the mushroom project, research more insights, I look forward to more discoveries.”

With a wave of his hand indicating no need for formality, having just helped resolve the dilemma, Professor Fu even gave guidance on the next steps for endeavor.

”I was already thinking in that direction... what Luo Bu developed is truly special, and feels like there’s an immense knowledge worth exploring in there.”

Ah Kai almost instantly accepted, although not as perceptive as Professor Fu in making deductions from foundational links, he apparently already had similar intentions.

It is indeed worth it.

And regarding the ”knowledge within mushrooms,” what emerged in Fu Qian’s mind with this phrase was yet another scene—a few mushrooms apparently rooted in the Void.

Is that vacancy also a form of ”Zero” manifestation?

When judging the relationship between Fungus Emperor and Melia, this was indeed one of the reasons.
