Chapter 2355: Chapter 2350: God Does Not Love Humanity

God does not love mankind.

Throughout the long career of missions, even though I’ve seen a few counterexamples, to be honest, Fu Qian says this statement holds true most of the time.

Compared to Patch, who looks for enjoyment, he’s considered quite mild.

As for those other demons and spirits, they can almost only be described as stars shining brightly.

Under these circumstances, an unavoidable question arises: during the Mythic Era, what was all that faith about?

For Fu Qian, this has been a question he’s been curious about for a long time.

Especially after conversing with Yuan Shan’s mentor, Old Master Henry.

The latter, as a slave to two surnames, clearly stated that even without believers, the power of Prism of Radiant Transformation has shown no signs of diminishing over the years.

This relatively strong testimony made the flourishing scene before Long Night appear even more inexplicable.

Fu Qian has always been unreserved in speculating about various wise beings with the most vulgar motives, including those theoretically at the top of the world.

And if we exclude moral norms like compassion and love, stripped bare, there seem to be only two motivations left—wanting too much to progress, or fearing regression.

Considering that so far, not much information has been found about ”progress,” how to ”regress” becomes a natural question.

And combining the case of Prism of Radiant Transformation, it seems there is no obvious amplification of power through faith.

Excluding this point, increasing control over threats seems to be one of the few possibilities.

Thus becoming a support for the ”First Law of Transcendence.”

It is because ”where there are gods, there is a way” that gods have chosen first to stabilize their foundation before dealing with external threats.

”Is it really like this...”

The topic suddenly became this profound, something Professor Lisa clearly did not anticipate.

”It’s undeniably a method, but I still don’t understand, given the first two options, why choose the one that’s so troublesome?”

On one hand, she never doubts Professor Fu’s heartfelt guidance, yet on the other hand, she didn’t let the grandeur of the topic cloud her practical judgment, staying stubbornly pragmatic.

”Good question.”

In response, Fu Qian instantly expressed praise.

”But what if you have your rival helping cover up and protect the ambitious ones?”

...

Ah, the youth!

Silence was the laboratory of the moment.

Facing Lisa’s vacant gaze, Professor Fu couldn’t help but shake his head internally.

A good question not only provokes deep reflection but also insight into the questioner’s experience and knowledge.

Clearly, Professor Lisa might have some sense of the world’s cruelty, yet from the wild to the Ivory Tower, she still feels too little of the darkness within human hearts.

When a rival is excessively powerful, cultivating a similarly ambitious claimant is almost basic operation, and a head-on fight is always a last resort.

Thus without others’ interference, a perfectly conditioned Superior Being might be able to dominate an entire Sequence, but what about a similarly ranked opponent causing trouble?

This is not alarmist talk; there are actual cases backing it, even personally experienced ones—consider the tragic fall of Senior Tyrant.

If it weren’t for the restraint from the Holy Infant Star, the disaster might not have been so passive.

”I think I understand, control over some things must be as high as possible... I’ll fully support proving this in the future.”

Although such cases might not be suitable for sharing, Professor Lisa seems to have already grasped the insight; at some point, she exhaled a long breath.

Regarding the necessity of the third plan, she could already empathize.

Furthering a sense of mission for the current undertaken project.

”Great, I look forward to good news, and feel free to contact me when needed.”

Not only deepening the project but also stimulating the young scholar’s enthusiasm, achieving such successful guidance, Fu Qian was quite gratified, expressing willingness to cooperate whenever needed.

”Really? Professor Fu will be stationed at the Academy for a while?”

Unfortunately, the person involved doesn’t seem to like the promise much; at that moment, Professor Lisa frowned, confirming it with a cautious look.

”No.”

...

Even though she expected it, faced with Professor Fu’s thick-skinned remark, at that moment, Lisa was still speechless.

When it comes to the two demigods at Heaven’s Commencement Institute, it’s really about being elusive to an extreme.

But considering everything positively... At least both of them are here at this moment.

At that moment, Lisa exhaled deeply once again, seemingly infected by Professor Fu’s optimistic spirit—

”Are you injured?”

Perhaps sensitive perceptions become keener when relaxed; at a certain moment, Lisa instinctively turned her head.

Inspecting Fu Qian’s body, she seemed to realize a possible reason for his brief respite.

”Weren’t you fine earlier? How did this happen?”

Without waiting for Fu Qian to speak, she seemed quite certain of her judgment and deeply bewildered by why this happened.

This guy hardly went anywhere just before, right?

”It’s not related to Linghui, anyway I’m quite puzzled too.”

Fu Qian naturally knew what she was suspecting, while clarifying for the Divine Ashes Institute, he was also stirred to sentiment.

Though Professor Lisa’s project successfully broadened the perspective, the Redeemer still leaves one with endless thoughts.

”No wonder your assistant seems a bit odd, Sword Heart Enlightenment truly is remarkable...”

Fu Qian’s words undoubtedly affirmed Lisa’s suspicion, for a moment she seemed to sense her own dullness, quickly associating it with Miss Liushuang’s previous performance, lightly sighing.

”Anyway, you should rest first... Appreciate the help today, feel free to ask if I need to do anything.”

So Professor Fu not only made the time in a whirlwind schedule to offer guidance, but even helped with administrative work while injured?

Lisa continued to deeply feel the smallness of her own scope, irresistibly thanking once again, sincerely.

”Sure, actually I need something right now.”

Though she regretted it the next moment.

Professor Fu responded without blinking, seeming to have thought of an answer long ago.

”Preparing for an expedition, I need to apply for another portion of Kaldora flesh.”

...

”Okay... Do you need as much as last time?”

Even though such an application couldn’t be rejected due to Professor Fu’s prestige, Lisa still felt an ”I can’t control this mouth” regret.

”No need, the normal amount will do.”

Fortunately slightly relieving, the applicant seems very easy-going.

”I remember that place needs to remain clean, can’t be entered casually?”

Even the rules and regulations are remembered clearly.

”Yes... correct.”

”And since I need to go back to recuperate, please deliver it for me later.”

In a question-and-answer exchange, Professor Fu already stylishly turned away, leaving not a trace behind.
