Chapter 174: The Final Segment, God of the Banquet

”Whatʼs all this nonsense about rainbow silver coins clattering?” Fish scratched her brightly colored hair. ”Fluoxetine, can you speak human language for once?”

Facing Fishʼs challenge, Lin Yu remained silent, simply returning to his seat.

While Fish had directly voiced her doubts, the others were also deep in thought, pondering Lin Yuʼs cryptic words.

However...

This clearly wasnʼt the ”best time” to decipher Lin Yuʼs riddles.

After all, everyone was still in the midst of a ”crisis”!

Ka the Octopusʼs voice rang out.

”Well then, everyone, the [Dessert] segment has also concluded. Let us now proceed to the final segment of tonightʼs banquet...”

As Ka spoke, the ropes once again exerted an upward pulling force.

Everyone was dragged upwards by the ropes, and soon...
They seemed to break through an invisible membrane.

The surroundings transformed once more as a sweet aroma filled everyoneʼs nostrils.

They had abruptly transitioned from the serene, empty skies ten thousand meters above to...

Hovering above an enormous banquet table laden with exquisite dishes.

The table was unimaginably vast, resembling an entire mountain range.

Every soup tureen and plate on this banquet table was several times larger than the dining table around which Lin Yu and the others had been seated.

Looking around, this mountain-like banquet table was placed within a magnificently golden banquet hall.

And most importantly...

The giant in white robes seated at this table.

The giantʼs head resembled a crystal decanter, with facial features depicted by simple lines drawn upon it.

One of its hands stretched above Lin Yuʼs groupʼs table—five different threads tied to each finger.

These threads descended downward...

They were the very ropes attached to the table and everyoneʼs chairs!

Ka addressed this giant respectfully.

”My Lord, these are the guests attending tonightʼs banquet!”

From Kaʼs words and the surrounding scene...

The identity of this decanter-headed giant was self-evident.

It was the ”God of Banquets, Wine, and Revelry”—the host of this feast!

A genuine...

Deity!

The deity looked at the seven individuals seated around the table and spoke.

”Oh—so these are my invited guests!”

”Excellent work, Ka! It seems everyone has been well entertained!”

Its voice was warm and cheerful, like the most welcoming party host imaginable.

The players at the table held their breaths, too nervous to speak.

Although this banquet had differed from ordinary dungeons from the very beginning...

Directly ”meeting a deity” was still far beyond everyoneʼs expectations.

Especially since...

This God of Banquets, Wine, and Revelry seemed intent on personally hosting the final segment of the game!

Sure enough, the massive deity spoke.

”Having arrived here, I trust youʼve all been properly entertained by Ka...”

”All that remains for my honored guests is the [After-Dinner Drinks]!”

”As host of this banquet... I shall personally serve everyone a drink for this final segment!”

As it spoke, all the players were shocked to discover...

They were each inexplicably holding a glass!

Even Lin Yu was startled.

”When did this get here?!”

The glasses seemed to have appeared naturally!

Moreover, everyoneʼs right hands—which had been resting casually on the table or their laps—were now uniformly holding glasses at chest level.

This was the power of a ”deity”?

Compared to feats like moving mountains or summoning storms, it was this moment that struck Lin Yu with the greatest awe and impact.

Because...

This deity had manipulated his body without him even noticing!

The other players wore similarly shocked expressions.

The God of Revelryʼs voice sounded again.

”Of course—as youʼve likely realized, my banquets arenʼt merely about enjoying delicacies, but also include many entertaining ʼgameʼ segments!”

”So... this [drink] is no exception.”

”Ka, please explain the rules to our guests!”

The cheerful deity spoke, and Ka immediately responded.

”As you command, my Lord.”

”Honored guests, in this final [After-Dinner Drinks] segment, you will taste specially crafted beverages prepared by our Lord.”

”However, each of your drinks is an incomplete semi-finished product with flaws and deficiencies.”

”You must complete these drinks yourselves.”

”Based on how you complete them, our Lord will administer rewards or punishments—the punishment remains severing ropes, with varying quantities.”

”As for rewards... you may receive new ropes, again in varying quantities.”

After Ka finished explaining, the God of Revelry spoke again.

”Precisely, precisely—everyone, I eagerly anticipate the novel flavors and innovative drinks youʼll present me!”

As it spoke...

A splashing sound suddenly came from everyoneʼs glasses.

The liquid levels in each glass rose seemingly from nothing.

Each glass contained liquid of a different color.

Old Man Radish examined the amber liquid in his glass—without even tasting it, a single sniff was enough.

”Hmm, mine is... tea?”

Mosin-Nagant observed the milky-white liquid in his glass.

”This appears to be some dairy product?”

Li Hua frowned. ”Mine should be coffee.”

Phantom shook his glass of bubbling orange liquid.

”Huh? Why do I get Fanta?”

Robin looked at the red liquid in her hand. ”Mine looks like watermelon juice...”

Lin Yu sighed as he examined the clear liquid in his glass.

Though it appeared to be water...

An intensely pungent aroma reminded him exactly what it was.

”How did I end up with hard liquor? What proof is this anyway?”

Moreover, the glass was quite large—holding at least 500 milliliters...

Lin Yu rarely drank, so he doubted his alcohol tolerance was that good.

Frankly, few normal people could consume 500ml of hard liquor without getting drunk.

”Thank goodness this is the final segment, but this is still pretty unlucky.”

Lin Yu sighed.

However...

At least he wasnʼt the most unfortunate one.

Over there, Fish was holding an entire glass of green liquid, her face equally green.

”Whatʼs the meaning of this, octopus chef... and you, decanter-headed deity.”

”Sure, I currently live in Beijing in real life, but Iʼm a second-generation immigrant!”

”My ID number doesnʼt even start with those prestigious three digits—heck, I get called a ʼstinking out-of-townerʼ daily in Beijing... And even if I were local, this is taking stereotypes too far!”

Clutching her glass, Fish spoke through gritted teeth.

”Why do they all get normal stuff like tea and coffee, while Iʼm stuck with a full glass of fermented bean juice?”
