Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 154: An Unprecedented Collaboration

From the moment ”Ka the Octopus” explained the rules about [Support], Lin Yu had keenly noticed one thing...

There were once again ”misleading” hidden aspects in the rules this guy had described.

Combined with [Flavor Papers], an item that clearly should serve some purpose in this segment, Lin Yu easily reached a conclusion.

From start to finish, Ka the Octopus never said you could only ”support” your own contestant.

And the victory condition was to eat all the ”food”—this ”food” was never defined by the rules as necessarily being what fell from above.

Putting these together, the function of Flavor Papers became obvious.

Their purpose was to increase the ”total food amount” that the other two contestants needed to eat.

Of course...

Lin Yu had briefly hesitated about whether to ”reveal” this point immediately.

After all, if no one else realized it and wasted all their ”support” opportunities, he might be able to pull off a decisive move.
But that was ”Lin Yuʼs” way of thinking.

Right now, he was 『Fluoxetine』.

Moreover, everyone present was an experienced player—Li Hua, Phantom, Mosin-Nagant, and Robin all seemed quite ”clever.”

While Fish and Radish had contrasting personalities—one aggressive and one honest—that didnʼt mean they were slow-witted.

Lin Yu wasnʼt arrogant enough to think that something he figured out instantly would remain beyond these peopleʼs comprehension.

It was just that his 『Fraudster』 profession made his perspective more attuned to spotting these ”loopholes.”

So Lin Yu chose an extremely 『Fluoxetine』 way to handle it.

He demonstrated and explained everything to everyone.

”Deciding how to allocate the [Flavor Papers] in your hands is what we ʼspectatorsʼ should really be doing,”

Lin Yu said casually.

Hearing his words, everyoneʼs expressions changed slightly.

This new ”rule” interpretation introduced many variables to the situation.

Li Hua looked grave.

”So thatʼs how it is...”

As Lin Yu expected, he had already sensed something was off.

With this pointer, everything clicked into place.

Meanwhile, Phantom glanced at Li Hua and suddenly realized something.

”Hey, 『Gambler』... I suggest our two groups temporarily set aside our differences and cooperate.”

Li Hua was momentarily taken aback by the proposal but surprisingly didnʼt reject it.

”Worth considering.”

Fish, however, voiced dissatisfaction: ”Hah? Why should we team up with these guys after everything?”

”Because of the number of [Flavor Papers],”

Phantom said quietly.

With this reminder, the remaining people also realized the situation.

Li Hua, Radish and Mosin-Nagantʼs group seemingly had three people, but their combined [Flavor Papers] only totaled 94.

Not even as many as Lin Yu alone.

Fish and Phantom together had 111.

But...

Lin Yu and Robin combined had 99 plus 39... totaling 138.

Even after Lin Yu spent 20 to exchange for food and threw it into Vitianʼs area, they still had 118 left—the most by far.

This meant that if everyoneʼs [Flavor Papers] excluded exchange errors and operated under ideal conditions where each could exchange for corresponding food units...

Lin Yu and Robin currently held the most food.

Moreover, Lin Yu had just demonstrated he could use 20 Flavor Papers at once to deliver food.

This rendered the extra [Support] opportunities of Li Hua, Radish and Mosin-Nagantʼs trio rather useless.

Because [Flavor Papers] could be exchanged in unequal amounts for the same ”portion” of food.

And most crucially...

Currently, the fastest eater among the three contestants was visibly the ”Shadow-Type Pseudohuman”!

After finishing that one-third portion of food, it had merely rested briefly before starting to gather more.

”Truly worthy of you... Fluoxetine,”

Robin murmured beside him.

”But what if they really join forces?”

Lin Yu looked at Robin and grinned.

”What, you want to win? Even when teamed up with me!”

”Shouldnʼt you be protecting those upstanding guys over there that youʼre close with?”

Lin Yu asked playfully, pointing toward Li Hua and Radish.

”In a dungeon... survival comes first...”

Robin said, lowering her head.

”No wonder you so obediently gave me your [Flavor Papers],” Lin Yu leaned halfway across, using his foot to drag his chair closer. ”Though I donʼt agree with your view—to me, there are more important things in games...”

Lin Yu looked at Robin, lowering his voice further.

”But your approach and mindset... I quite admire them.”

”Those who struggle desperately to survive are most beloved by the gods.”

”So... since you want to win this round with me, Iʼll make sure you do.”

Lin Yu said.

This was his genuine thought—winning would be ideal.

And the real 『Fluoxetine』 would probably act this way too.

Though Lin Yu had only met that crazy, powerful, mysterious girl once, the longer he played this 『Fluoxetine』 role in the game...

Judging by othersʼ reactions and his repeated recollection of her demeanor, actions and speech during their brief encounter...

Lin Yu felt his responses were exactly what 『Fluoxetine』 would do.

He had completely immersed himself in the 『Fluoxetine』 persona!

”Even if those two groups—all five of them—join forces.”

Lin Yu gently reached out and pinched Robinʼs cheek.

”Iʼll still make you win.”

”As long as you trust me completely!”

After Lin Yu finished speaking...

Robinʼs face briefly showed conflict before...

This ordinary-looking girl sighed and spoke.

”I never imagined Iʼd cooperate with you one day...”

Robin took Lin Yuʼs hand from her cheek, gently moving it aside as her gaze drifted away.

”Then Iʼll trust you this once.”

Lin Yu burst out laughing.

”Relax—youʼll absolutely win this round.”

Then he whispered two sentences in her ear...

Before releasing her and returning his chair to its original position.

Robin handed all her Flavor Papers to Lin Yu, then took out her drawing board and began sketching!
