Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 140: Chapter 139 - This Habit is Not Good, Better to Change it

Nia Mitchell took a deep breath and carefully opened the door, tiptoeing inside.

Uncle Peary is so serious when he works! She swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest.

What should I do?

She began to feel a sense of regret. It’s just making a cup of coffee, after all. He’s the big boss, the one paying my salary, and I’m his secretary. So, I should just do what he asks.

Maxwell Peary had a stern expression on his face, gently clenching his left hand. Why isn’t Rabina Mitchell coming over?

”Um...”

Nia Mitchell hesitated, stopping roughly three meters away from Maxwell.

”Hm?”

Maxwell finally sensed something was amiss and looked up.

Why is she standing so far away? Could it be that she’s still bothered by that earlier issue? Does she still think she isn’t worthy of me?

”Come here.”

Maxwell extended his hand. What is Rabina Mitchell getting worked up about?

”Um!”

Nia gathered her courage and took a deep breath, mentally steeling herself.

I’m here to state facts, not go to war. He wouldn’t court-martial me for this.

”What’s wrong?”

Maxwell frowned and rose, about to walk over to her.

”Don’t move.”

Nia quickly took two steps back to ensure her safety.

Um... um... What were the downsides of drinking coffee too often again? It kills sperm... Kills sperm... Kills... What else was there?

”Nia Mitchell, what on earth are you trying to say?”

Maxwell stepped towards her, intending to touch her forehead. Her face was a little flushed; Is she running a fever?

”Drinking too much coffee kills sperm!”

PFFT!

Nia was so horrified she felt like she could cough up blood. What did I just say? And I shouted it! Is there still time to bite my tongue off and die?

Maxwell didn’t know how he managed to stop in his tracks, his eye twitching. What did Nia Mitchell just say? So loud! I think my ears are ringing. Thankfully, the soundproofing in the Office Room is top-notch. Otherwise, I’d have lost all face.

”Say that again.”

Maxwell gritted his teeth, each word squeezed out from between them.

”Huh?”

Nia forced an eager-to-please smile. The CEO is furious!

”I mean, well... drink a little less.”

Nia stammered, unknowingly backing up until she hit the wall, trapped.

What do I do? Should I bolt for the door? Maybe I’d be safe then. But damn it, I can’t move a muscle!

”Kills sperm?”

Maxwell repeated the words with his characteristically magnetic tone, causing Nia’s face to flush red once more.

Ultimately, she found her courage and nodded.

”Baby, do you want a child?”

Maxwell slowly leaned down, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered the question.

Each word, carried on his warm breath, tickled her ear and sent shivers straight to her heart.

A child...

Nia’s mouth twitched. She couldn’t find her voice; she could only stand there stiffly.

”Is that it, baby?”

His deep, magnetic voice, now a husky whisper, had a unique allure that sent her heart into a frenzy.

”No... no...”

How did we suddenly get onto this topic? This isn’t how I pictured this going at all!

”It seems I’ll need to put in more effort then, so we can achieve a fruitful outcome sooner.”

He smiled, his gaze meeting her wide eyes.

”No wonder you got so upset when I bought too many condoms that time.”
