Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 122: Chapter 121 - It’s over, we’re in trouble

Nia Mitchell shot a cold glance at the driver and mentally grouped him with Mrs. Hampton.

”I’ll cover the medical fees, so you can rest easy.”

After saying that, Nia tightened her grip on her phone and followed the nurse to make the payment.

Fortunately, she still had the black card that Maxwell Peary had given her.

After paying, she turned to head back to the operating room, only to see Hendry Hampton striding swiftly towards her.

”Nia Mitchell, I can’t believe you’re this kind of person! I was truly blind before!”

Hendry Hampton’s chest heaved with anger. Even if his mother had been at fault, Nia had no right to lay a hand on her.

Nia pressed her lips together. Hendry Hampton’s voice was loud, and many people in the hospital were glancing their way.

”Why aren’t you saying anything? Huh? Can you bear this responsibility? If anything happens to my mother, I won’t let you off!”

Did she think paying the medical fees would be enough? The Hampton Family was never short of money.

If that was the case, he could also beat her up and then pay for her treatment.

”You want me to speak? Fine, I will.” Nia clenched her fists and stared coldly at Hendry Hampton.

”She started it. I was only defending myself.”

Hendry Hampton struggled to suppress the urge to hit her. Self-defense, indeed!

”I don’t want to waste any more words on you right now. You’d better pray my mother is alright; otherwise, I won’t let you go!”

With that, Hendry Hampton turned and strode away, leaving Nia Mitchell standing there alone.

She took a deep breath, trying hard to control her emotions. Tears welled in her eyes.

I mustn’t cry, she told herself. I have to say goodbye to the old Nia Mitchell.

After a few deep breaths, she managed to shake off her fear and walked slowly towards the operating room.

But she was, after all, only a twenty-year-old girl and still afraid, so she dialed Maxwell Peary’s number again. No answer, just like before.

Uncle Peary... Are you busy?

When she returned to the corridor, a doctor had come out of the operating room. Hendry Hampton and Mr. Hampton were speaking with the doctor.

”Dr. Zheng, how is she?”

”Her nasal bone is fractured, the nasal mucosa is torn, and there’s cerebrospinal fluid leaking from her nose. The nosebleed has stopped. She is in surgery now. As for her specific condition, we’ll need to wait for post-operative observation to know more.”

Dr. Zheng listed a series of professional terms. It sounded very serious, and they couldn’t help but worry about Mrs. Hampton in the operating room.

”Alright, please do your best. Money is not an issue.”

Mr. Hampton pleaded, his hand trembling as he gripped Dr. Zheng’s hand.

Dr. Zheng nodded. ”Don’t worry, we will do our best.”

After Dr. Zheng left, Mr. Hampton turned, his expression haggard. Only then did he notice Nia Mitchell standing behind them.

”You still have the nerve to show up here?! Get out of here and wait for your court summons!”

Unlike Hendry Hampton, Mr. Hampton didn’t just roar and threaten her loudly.

When he had received Mrs. Hampton’s call earlier, he still couldn’t quite believe it. He had met Nia Mitchell a few times, and she didn’t seem like the type of person who would resort to violence.

But before he could decide whether to go to Royal View Villa to check, he received a call from his son.

Mrs. Hampton was injured? So severely that she had to be hospitalized?

He had truly misjudged her. His son was lucky he hadn’t married this kind of woman.

He had initially been somewhat worried that Maxwell Peary would back Nia Mitchell. But so much time had passed since the incident, and Maxwell Peary hadn’t appeared.

Didn’t that clearly indicate that Maxwell Peary didn’t care about Nia Mitchell at all, or that she had fallen out of favor?

After all, this was no small matter. If Nia Mitchell truly had Maxwell Peary to rely on, she would definitely have notified him.

(Regarding the nasal fracture, I am not a professional. I researched a lot of materials. If there is anything incorrect, I welcome readers to comment and inform me, thank you.)
