Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 103: Chapter 102: Picked on Again (Additional Update)

Maxwell Peary set down his chopsticks, crossed his legs, and picked up the newspaper from the table.

”I never eat in the staff restaurant.”

To be precise, he had never even considered eating at the staff restaurant.

”No matter how good the food is, it wouldn’t beat what our home chef makes.”

Of course, Nia Mitchell knew that the chefs at home were top-class, definitely a hundred times better than the dining hall chefs.

”Alright, I’ll go over at noon.”

Nia Mitchell nodded. After finishing her breakfast, she tidied up briefly and left Royal Bay Villa with Maxwell Peary.

「MC Group—」

Maxwell Peary was very punctual, always arriving at work on the dot at nine o’clock, without any deviation.

Consequently, Nia Mitchell also clocked in at precisely nine o’clock. She had just settled into her seat when the CEO emerged from his exclusive elevator.

Watching Maxwell Peary leave, Nia Mitchell breathed a sigh of relief, thankful she had insisted on taking a different elevator up earlier.

If she had listened to Maxwell Peary, wouldn’t they have stepped out of the elevator together, in full view of everyone? Oh, that scene was too ’beautiful’ for her to even imagine.

”Nia Mitchell, as a new employee, couldn’t you come to the company a bit earlier?”

Once Maxwell Peary left, Phoebe Walker immediately started giving Nia Mitchell a hard time. Let’s see how she copes with today’s workload, hmph!

”The company’s workday starts at nine. Was I late?”

Even if she had been late, she had clocked in normally. Any pay deduction would have nothing to do with Phoebe Walker, right?

Phoebe Walker gritted her teeth in anger. ”Look around you! Isn’t everyone else here early to turn on their computers and check emails?”

Was she implying that everyone should come to the company early, do a bit more work, and save a little time?

”As long as I wasn’t late, that’s what counts. If you think I’m arriving too late, then you should get the entire company to start work earlier.”

Nia Mitchell turned on her computer, disinclined to argue further with Phoebe. Besides, she had a lot of data to input today.

Although she definitely wouldn’t be able to finish it all, doing a little was still better than nothing.

”You! Nia Mitchell, this is sheer negligence! What do you think MC Group is? Is it like those hodgepodge small companies you used to work for? So lax and utterly undisciplined!”

Phoebe Walker was very displeased. New employees always tiptoed around her, carefully watching her expression. Was this newcomer, Nia Mitchell, determined to be a thorn in her side?

”The company I used to work for was Star Media.”

Nia Mitchell smiled at Phoebe Walker. Is she calling Star Media a hodgepodge small company? This Phoebe Walker is really digging her own grave.

Hearing the name Star Media, Phoebe Walker’s expression changed instantly.

Star Media? That’s currently the most prominent entertainment company in Asia, with its artists famous all over the country. Ethan Martinez, the superstar actor currently dominating the scene, is from Star Media. It’s well known that stars are currently the most influential figures, and Star Media had a firm grasp on the public’s sentiment. Besides its artists, Star Media was also famous for its gossip and entertainment news, gathered by its numerous journalists who operated both openly and covertly. If Star Media wanted to ruin someone, that person would undoubtedly become infamous, a laughingstock talked about by everyone in their spare time. No one dares to disparage Star Media, just as no one dares to provoke Young Master Peary.

”Are you joking?”

If Nia Mitchell had actually worked at Star Media before, then she, Phoebe Walker, would write her name backward! Star Media was more or less on par with MC Group, just in a different industry. It was also considered a ’golden rice bowl’; once someone got in, they would never want to leave. Nia Mitchell, having worked at Star Media, now starting from scratch as a newcomer at MC Group? No one in their right mind would believe that.
