Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 100: Chapter 99: You reap what you sow

Of course, Young Master Maxwell Peary couldn’t fulfill his lovely wish of having little Rabina exercise on top of him that night. After all, Rabina had limited energy; she fell into a deep sleep before she even had a chance to take a bath.

What is self-inflicted misery?

That’s when CEO Maxwell Peary carries Nia Mitchell to the bathroom to clean her up, only to find himself burning with desire.

Nia Mitchell, somewhat dazed, turned her now dry body over. She unconsciously nuzzled her soft pillow, adjusted her position comfortably, and continued to dream soundly.

After Maxwell took a shower, he casually put on a bathrobe. Looking at the lump on the bed, the corners of his mouth curled into a slight smile.

Seeing her sleeping so soundly, Maxwell went to her side and kissed her forehead, then picked up his phone and left the room.

「The Study」

The study’s gloomy atmosphere was oppressive, making it difficult to breathe. At this moment, Maxwell, water still dripping from his hair and his expression serious, sat lazily in the large black chair.

”So you’re saying Nia Mitchell has two close friends in the USA?”

Regarding Nia Mitchell, he had thoroughly investigated her after the Police Bureau brought her to him and they had that whirlwind engagement ceremony. He basically had all her basic information at his fingertips. It was just that...

”Yes.”

The computer was on, displaying Alan Morgan’s face.

”When will they come back?”

Since Alan Morgan specifically brought up these friends, their relationship with Nia must be quite something. They might even return at any time.

”When they left, they seemed to have had a disagreement with Nia, so they haven’t contacted her proactively. I’ve made sure no news from Capital Town has reached them in the USA.”

Alan Morgan continued, ”If those two wanted to find out what’s happening here, it would be easy for them. But it’s clear they’re still sulking.”

”Alright, continue to keep it from them.”

Maxwell picked up the coffee from the table and took a sip. There was still much to do that night; he would probably be up all night.

”Yes. By the way, the Old Master asked you to make time to visit the old family home this week. He specifically requested that you bring Nia.”

Upon hearing this, Maxwell Peary turned off the video. Return to the old family home? He refused!

...

Nia Mitchell was woken in the middle of the night by the urge to pee. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she found the bed empty beside her; she was alone.

After coming out of the bathroom, she pulled her sleepwear tighter around herself, opened the bedroom door, and went to look for Uncle Peary.

It was pitch black downstairs, and no one was around. She turned a corner and headed for the study.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK! Nia Mitchell tapped on the door.

”Uncle, are you in there?”

The vast villa felt deserted. Outside the windows, it was pitch black. The long, empty corridor had no one in sight, and Nia Mitchell suddenly felt a wave of fear.

CREAK...

Maxwell Peary opened the door. He saw little Rabina standing outside. Whether it was from lack of sleep or having just woken up, her eyes were bright and dewy.

”What is it?”

He immediately bent down to Nia Mitchell’s eye level, reaching out to touch her small cheek.

”Uncle, why aren’t you asleep yet?”

She had just checked the time; it was already past two in the morning.

”I still have some things to take care of. Why are you awake?”

He scooped her up and carried her back to the bedroom, gently placing her on the large bed.

Nia Mitchell pouted, looking up at Maxwell Peary with an aggrieved expression.

”I woke up and saw Uncle wasn’t here.”

The bed was huge, so big she could roll and tumble on it, but without him, it felt too empty and lonely.

”There, there. Uncle will sleep with you now, alright?”

Maxwell Peary also lay down on the bed, and Nia Mitchell automatically snuggled into his embrace.

”Then you won’t go back to the study, okay?”

She murmured softly, then closed her eyes and clung to his arm.
