Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Using Another Type of Exercise to Digest Food

Nia Mitchell had originally thought tonight would be a dinner for three. To her surprise, Evelyn Peary left in a hurry after being startled, leaving Nia blinking her big, bright eyes in utter confusion.

The dinner ended with Maxwell Peary focused solely on making sure Nia ate her fill.

”Uncle Peary, your sister is weird.”

Having held it in all night, Nia finally blurted it out. She staggered under the dim yellow streetlights, swaying left and right as she walked, completely disregarding her image.

Maxwell Peary saw Nia walking ahead, counting the paving stones, completely ignoring him. He could only sigh helplessly and quicken his pace to catch up.

”Starting today, she’s your sister too.”

Hearing this, Nia finally turned around, pouting. ”Didn’t you just say at dinner that she’s 21?” Evelyn Peary is a year older than me, so how can she be my younger sister?

A smile touched Maxwell Peary’s lips. He reached out, wrapped an arm around Nia’s waist, and stopped her from wandering off.

”This is a matter of generational seniority. Don’t you feel like you’ve gotten the better end of the deal?”

Nia silently rolled her eyes. She really didn’t want to gain such an ”advantage.”

”How much longer do we have to walk?”

Nia glanced with her big, watery eyes at the luxury car trailing behind them, then looked pleadingly at Maxwell Peary.

The driver, who had been cruising slowly, suddenly noticed his two masters looking at him and instantly tensed up.

Fully alert, he tried his best to interpret the expressions on the CEO and the CEO’s wife, but to no avail...

”Didn’t you say you were stuffed? A walk will help you digest.”

Nia was at a loss for words. Alright, fine, it was her fault for being greedy. She shouldn’t have gone all out on the desserts. After eating one piece, she just had to have more, and ended up stuffing the entire plateful into her stomach.

”But we’ve already been walking for a long time,” Nia whined, stopping in her tracks. She looked at Maxwell Peary with an aggrieved expression. ”I can’t walk anymore.”

Maxwell Peary sighed and shook his head helplessly. What strange creatures women are.

”Then let’s go back and use a different kind of exercise to aid digestion.”

Huh? Nia was puzzled. Does he mean that after we get back, he’s going to make me run? Play ball? Work out? No, no, no! I don’t want to do any of those. Walking is much better.

”Um... I think I can walk a little longer after all.”

Maxwell Peary gave her a sidelong glance. It was just like with that bowl of noodles earlier. She insisted she couldn’t finish it, then snatched it back and said she could. Why is she so fickle? He couldn’t tell if she genuinely could walk more or not.

”Get in the car.”

Finally, resigned, he helped her into the car. Nia Mitchell bit her lip but didn’t resist further.

The luxury car, which had been crawling along at a snail’s pace, finally resumed its normal speed and zoomed away down the street.

Silence filled the car. Just when Maxwell Peary thought Nia Mitchell had fallen asleep, Rabina Mitchell finally spoke.

”I’ve really digested everything now. I don’t need to exercise anymore.” Exercise is exhausting! Please, let me off the hook!

Maxwell Peary: ...!!!

Just how convoluted is her thinking?

Pressing a hand to his forehead, speechless, Maxwell Peary simply closed his eyes, deciding to ignore her.

Seeing his silent refusal, Nia Mitchell promptly sat on his lap, tugging at his suit jacket and rocking back and forth.

”I’m really tired today...”

Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow. ”So?”

Nia Mitchell smiled sweetly. ”So, let’s not exercise when we get back tonight, okay?” She fluttered her big, innocent eyes, looking utterly adorable.

Maxwell Peary: ...

The driver: !!!
