Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Exchange of White Rice

Maxwell Peary glanced indifferently at the wide-eyed Nia Mitchell. Does she really need to be this surprised?

Nia Mitchell nervously sat down, her hands holding a bowl of soup as she stared at the bowl of plain rice in front of her—the one Maxwell Peary had eaten from.

She secretly glanced at Maxwell Peary. He was sitting there, thoroughly enjoying his food. The sight of him like this made Nia Mitchell’s cheeks burn.

How suggestive.

But they had already done something so blush-worthy earlier, so what was exchanging bowls of plain rice in comparison?

Nia Mitchell silently encouraged herself. She absolutely couldn’t let Maxwell Peary look down on her or see her make a fool of herself.

So, summoning her courage, she feigned composure, picked up her chopsticks and the bowl of plain rice, and began to eat as if nothing were out of the ordinary.

Maxwell Peary was indeed surprised. Although he hadn’t spent much time with this little bunny, Rabina Mitchell, he knew enough about her temperament to understand that shyness was definitely a defining trait.

Watching her little face flush red, her heart clearly pounding despite her pretense of ease, Maxwell Peary sat there, appreciatively chewing the eggplant in his mouth.

Not bad, not bad at all, Maxwell thought. She has great potential. If he didn’t help her loosen up, how would he ever experience the intimate joys of the bedroom, how could he fully enjoy their nights together in the future?

”I want to eat fish.”

Nia Mitchell couldn’t bear the oppressive silence any longer and awkwardly broke it.

The fish was a bit far from her, so if she wanted some, she had to ask Maxwell Peary for help. This was the best way to break the silence—or at least, the best Nia Mitchell could come up with.

Maxwell Peary looked up, picked up a boneless slice of fish with his chopsticks, and offered it to her.

However, he didn’t place it in Nia Mitchell’s bowl. Instead, he brought it right to her lips and simply held it there.

Nia Mitchell’s face was already crimson; it couldn’t possibly get any redder, feeling as if it were burning with a fever.

Seeing him like this, Nia Mitchell had no choice but to open her mouth and take the fish directly from Maxwell Peary’s chopsticks, swallowing it in one gulp.

Mm, those were the chopsticks he’d just used.

Seeing this, Maxwell Peary’s mood lifted considerably. He cheerfully resumed picking out fish bones, tirelessly engrossed in the task.

Nia Mitchell liked fish, but she had choked on a fish bone as a child, so she rarely ate it afterward.

Today, it was a rare treat to have someone pick out the bones for her, so she ate to her heart’s content. After the first time, she no longer felt embarrassed by the second.

From then on, whatever Maxwell Peary offered her, she would open her mouth and eat. She found the dinner particularly satisfying.

”Uncle, you eat too.”

Gradually, she forgot her earlier anger and began to pick up some food for Maxwell Peary as well. Of course, she intentionally chose things like chili peppers, ginger slices, and cilantro.

”Hmm? Nia, I’ve discovered a secret.”

Suddenly, Maxwell Peary didn’t open his mouth for the slice of ginger she was offering. Instead, he turned his head to look at Nia Mitchell.

Nia Mitchell stiffened, holding the posture, her hand with the slice of ginger hovering uncertainly.

”Wha...what...?”

As if her little secret had been exposed, she swallowed hard, her hand trembling as she prepared to withdraw it.

”You’re a picky eater. You don’t like chili peppers, ginger slices, or cilantro.”

Nia Mitchell faltered. Uh, she had thought he was going to say she was deliberately giving him things like chili peppers.

She hadn’t expected him to say *that*. But... how did he know?

”Yeah, so what if I am? Are you going to control my picky eating habits too?”

Nia Mitchell pouted. Oh no, I’m doomed. Is he going to control everything about me from now on?

Am I going to be completely under his thumb?

Heavens, my future looks bleak!

”You wanted to play a trick on me, trying to feed me things I dislike. So, you cast a wide net, starting with things *you* don’t like, just to test my reaction.”
