Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 89: Chapter 89 This Newcomer is Really Bold (Extra Update)

Nia Mitchell clenched her fists. Was this happening because she was the newcomer and thus needed to be tested, or was it because she had previously helped Diana Hill by saying a few words?

”Do you all doubt how I got this position?”

Nia Mitchell turned around to face those who were craning their necks to watch the spectacle, a cold smirk playing on her lips.

No one could decipher the meaning behind Nia Mitchell’s expression, much less understand the ambiguity in her words.

Nia Mitchell straightened a loose strand of hair, her eyes icy.

”Let’s say I really did get in because I have powerful connections. Phoebe Walker, wouldn’t that scare you?”

Phoebe Walker was taken aback. She thought Nia Mitchell was going to say something else. Was this it?

Phoebe Walker scoffed. The lowest form of threat?

”Nia Mitchell, have you even bothered to find out who I, Phoebe Walker, am?”

She had been at MC for several years. Everyone in the office knew she had a mysterious background, but no one had ever managed to uncover her past.

No one dared to cross her, whether for professional or personal reasons.

”Do you know? Those who offended me in the past... they all disappeared without a trace.”

Phoebe Walker said this proudly, her innate sense of superiority always making her feel a cut above the rest.

Disappeared without a trace? Nia Mitchell wasn’t quite sure what that meant.

”I suggest you just focus on doing your job.” Phoebe Walker pointed to a stack of documents nearby, indicating Nia Mitchell should obediently go and type them up.

Nia Mitchell clenched her fists, finding it hard to swallow this insult.

However, she was also afraid that if Phoebe Walker truly had a formidable background, she might cause trouble for Maxwell Peary, especially since she had just joined the company.

So, taking a deep breath, she chose to let the matter drop.

Nia Mitchell’s first attempt at resistance ended in failure.

Back at her desk, she received a message from Diana Hill in her inbox.

”I’m sorry.”

Nia Mitchell sent a smiling emoticon. ”It’s alright. I’m not going to hold it against her.”

Diana Hill didn’t reply, merely thinking that Nia Mitchell’s words sounded a bit like she was putting on a brave front.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, afternoon tea time, the women in the office expected Nia Mitchell to be starving. To their surprise, however, she calmly poured herself a cup of tea and sat leisurely at her desk, sipping it.

”Nia Mitchell, aren’t you hungry?”

Diana Hill approached, concerned she might actually starve.

Nia Mitchell looked up. ”Not hungry.”

She’d eaten a lot of spare ribs. A little tea now was perfect; what she really needed was to rest her ”little claws.”

Diana Hill just thought she was being stubborn. Unfortunately, Diana didn’t have any snacks on hand.

Just as Diana Hill was about to suggest Nia Mitchell order some takeout and eat it in the Tea Lounge, Special Assistant Morgan suddenly walked in.

”Nia Mitchell, come with me for a moment.”

Nia Mitchell pointed to herself. What did Alan Morgan want with her?

Only today did she discover a very peculiar feature in Alan Morgan’s office: a hidden elevator.

”Wow, whose design is this? It’s amazing!”

Alan Morgan smiled and, like a gentleman, allowed Nia Mitchell to enter first.

”Your husband designed it.”

Nia Mitchell’s face flushed red at the word ”husband.” She had assumed it was the masterpiece of some famous designer!

DING. The elevator stopped. The doors slid open slowly, revealing Maxwell Peary’s handsome face.

Nia Mitchell was a bit confused. Alan Morgan had taken her on a detour, using a hidden elevator to reach Maxwell Peary’s office. What was he up to?
