Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Director Zhang, Don’t Hang Up the Phone

Nia Mitchell was surrounded, becoming the target of public criticism.

”Victoria Perez, must you be so aggressive?”

If she checks and there’s nothing in my bag, won’t she be incredibly embarrassed? She truly couldn’t comprehend what was going through these people’s minds.

”No, this diamond ring is truly important to me.”

Tears streamed down Victoria Perez’s face. She stood there looking so pitiful that everyone present felt a pang of sympathy.

Consequently, malicious, angry, and reproachful gazes all fell upon Nia Mitchell.

Finally unable to bear it any longer, Nia Mitchell opened her bag.

”Victoria Perez, if your diamond ring isn’t in my bag, I will hold you accountable for this!”

She declared furiously, then upended her bag, sending its contents tumbling onto the floor.

Instantly, the ground was littered with her belongings: tissues, a wallet, a phone, a charger, and more. And there, nestled between the phone and the tissues, a diamond ring lay shockingly visible.

Nia Mitchell’s eyes widened as she stared at the diamond ring in disbelief.

Victoria Perez, on the other hand, smirked and picked up the diamond ring.

”This is my diamond ring! Dad, look! The gift you gave me is still here; it wasn’t lost.”

Her face radiated pure joy, perfectly capturing the elation of recovering her lost treasure.

Nia Mitchell bit her lip and roared, ”When did you put this in my bag?”

She had always thought Victoria Perez was just a bit spoiled; she never imagined she could be this malicious! To publicly frame her under everyone’s watchful eyes, and now to try and utterly ruin her reputation?

”I’m calling the police!”

Victoria Perez looked at Nia Mitchell with feigned sadness. ”I wasn’t going to pursue this, but you’re still here, shamelessly making false accusations! I lost my ring, it was found in your bag, and you actually claim I put it there myself? Since you’re so unrepentant, you can’t blame me for what happens next. I’m calling the police!”

Robert Perez saw that Victoria had found the ring. In front of so many people, Nia Mitchell’s reputation was now thoroughly ruined; she was in an impossible situation, already condemned by everyone.

His daughter had gone far enough, he thought. There’s no need to drag this out.

”Victoria, let it go. We should head back; we still have important matters to attend to.”

The Perez Family is already on the brink, Robert Perez thought. With this time, I’d be better off seeking help from old friends. What’s the point of these petty games, hurting a woman like this?

Victoria Perez pushed Robert Perez away. Why is he trying to be the good guy? Today, I will make sure Nia Mitchell suffers a terrible fate!

”No! Look at what this woman is accusing me of! I have to call the police!”

Saying this, she pulled out her phone and quickly dialed a number.

”Uncle Zhang, it’s Victoria. I’m at Madgar Pavilion right now. Someone stole my diamond ring! You have to stand up for me!”

After speaking, Victoria Perez provocatively raised an eyebrow at Nia Mitchell. I know the Chief of the Capital Town Police Bureau! I’ll make sure Nia Mitchell gets into so much trouble she won’t know what hit her. Best if she gets sentenced for thirty or fifty years! Let’s see if she dares to provoke me again!

It was unclear what Chief Zhang said on the other end, but Victoria Perez continued to act sweet and obedient for a while longer.

”Don’t worry, Uncle Zhang. She looks like she has no money or connections. Her name is Nia Mitchell.”

CLICK!

Victoria Perez froze for a moment, then it dawned on her: Uncle Zhang had hung up.

Huh? Didn’t Dad just say that Uncle Zhang wouldn’t just send people over, but would come himself? Why would he suddenly hang up? Was it a bad signal?

Confused, Victoria Perez redialed the number.

”Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently switched off. Please try again later...”
