Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: The Zen Machine (The Seventh Wave Erupts)

As he spoke, the three people of the Kou Zhonghua family at the dining table each had their own thoughts.

In Kou Zhonghua’s eyes, since Ye Haochuan’s personal issues had not yet been settled, his granddaughter had a substantial opportunity.

On the other hand, Kou Jing could hardly suppress a laugh. You’re such a hypocrite. When you took advantage of me and acted like a hooligan, was it not childish?

Tang Zhen was full of resentment. Ye Haochuan, oh Ye Haochuan, you’re eyeing my pot while eating from your own bowl. Do you have no shame?

”Exactly, exactly, marriage is a serious matter that requires utmost caution.” Kou Zhonghua agreed wholeheartedly. Seeing that his goal of probing for information had been achieved, he didn’t inquire any further and skillfully changed the subject.

After the meal, under Kou Zhonghua’s deliberate arrangement, Ye Haochuan entered Kou Jing’s boudoir for the first time.

The boudoir gave off an impression of cleanliness and tidiness, particularly with a faint sandalwood scent that was refreshing.

However, unlike the careless Chen Yushan and the meticulous Han Xue’er, Kou Jing had a unique craftsmanship in decorating her boudoir.

The boudoir was on the second floor of the clinic, not small in size—over twenty square meters—with an en-suite bathroom equipped with a bathtub. Near the window, there was a solid wood bookshelf that was filled with a wide range of books, including medicine, popular science, novels, psychology, philosophy, and so on.

Damn, I had no idea this Doctor Kou was a literary young woman. Her knowledge is so extensive, she might even rival me! Ye Haochuan marveled but also harbored some improper thoughts. Hmm, why are there no sexology books on this bookshelf? Sigh, if there were, it’d be perfect for us to exchange ideas. Of course, it’d be even better to practice and learn from each other in action! Hehe!

At this moment, Kou Jing, unaware of the dirty thoughts he entertained, also felt somewhat peculiar. Even her college boyfriend, Huo Wendong, had never been to her boudoir. And now, Ye Haochuan had taken the lead.

Then, Ye Haochuan’s eyes suddenly caught sight of a number of Buddhist scriptures on the desk, one of which, ”The Buddha Speaks of Amitabha Sutra,” was marked with pages turned.

Clearly, Kou Jing, the hostess, often read these.

Damn, so this Doctor Kou is a Buddhist? No wonder she was dubbed the ”Iceberg Goddess” at school.

Ye Haochuan felt a bit of chills running down his spine. It wasn’t that he rejected Buddhism, but he found it odd for a girl in the prime of youth to be immersed in Buddhism, leading a life of abstinence.

With that thought, Ye Haochuan suddenly felt a strong sense of mission. No, I must save Doctor Kou from the sea of suffering.

”This... Doctor Kou, I didn’t expect you to study Buddhism too. It seems we share interests. We finally found something in common,” Ye Haochuan said with a smile.

He was an ancestor in playing with psychology, deeply understanding the principles. To truly open her heart, one must start with common hobbies.

Of course, he himself knew nothing about Buddhism. It was all based on memories passed down by Holy Hand.

”You also like to study Buddhism?” Sure enough, Kou Jing immediately became interested.

Of course, I am a devoted follower of Buddhism!

Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”It’s just a hobby, nothing to show off. How about we study together and make progress?”

Kou Jing blushed slightly and glanced at him with refusal.

Seeing her expression, Ye Haochuan knew exactly what was happening. Shaking his head, he said, ”Doctor Kou, look at you, where is your mind wandering? I was talking about us studying the teachings of Buddhism together. Ah, I really don’t know what sort of nonsense you have in your mind all day long...”

”It’s you who has nonsense in your mind all day long! It’s all because you use the wrong words, making me misspeak!” Kou Jing glared at him resentfully.

She didn’t know how to describe the man in front of her anymore. Whenever she was with him, even if she tried to remain pure and desires-less, she seemed to end up agitated by his teasing.

Moreover, somehow, despite her loathing him to the point of gritting her teeth and wishing in her dreams to strangle him, every time she saw him, his few words left her without recourse.

It was like she had been pulled by him from a sacred angel down into a thousand-mile abyss, sinking together, unable to extricate herself.

She herself couldn’t understand why she felt this way.

”Hehe, what’s the big deal if you misspoke? It’s not like I asked you to...” Ye Haochuan trailed off, chuckling.

Whoosh!

Kou Jing glared at him, her cheeks involuntarily flushing with crimson. She clearly understood the implication in Ye Xiaofan’s words.

Ignoring her reproachful look, Ye Haochuan said, ”You see, I know you want to use Buddhism to cleanse your soul, but you’ve plunged too deeply into it. You think everyone should lead a life of abstinence, but you’ve overlooked that most people in this world are concerned with worldly desires. We can have the compassionate heart of Buddhism without having to immerse ourselves in its ascetic practices. Imagine, if everyone were to live abstinent lives, would our children and grandchildren continue to thrive? I fear Buddhism itself would run out of followers!”

As he spoke these philosophically rich words, Kou Jing was silent, seemingly pondering something.

Sweat, I only said a word or two, why so sentimental? In the end, she’s just too deep into Buddhism. Ye Haochuan shook his head, wondering why he had to speak so much Zen to her.

Sensing that he had fallen silent, Kou Jing said coldly, ”If that’s all, please leave!”
