Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: The Businesswoman Unaware of the Nation’s Tragedy

Because of my covert intervention, the incident with Doctor Kou wasn’t detailed in media reports, but given Haimie’s connections, it shouldn’t be difficult for her to obtain the inside information from police department insiders.

So, seeing Haimie’s half-smiling expression, Ye Haochuan immediately sensed trouble.

Her attitude towards Han Xue’er just now was indicative enough, heavens, I hope she doesn’t drag Doctor Kou into this!

”This... as you know, Doctor Kou is my direct supervisor. She asked for my help yesterday afternoon, and you know me, I have a big flaw, which is being too eager to help others, so...”

Haimie snorted, ”So you happily followed Doctor Kou, even pretending to be her boyfriend?”

”What do you mean ’happily’? My dear wife, I’m not as bad as you make me out to be. It was just a pretense, I wasn’t really her boyfriend.”

Ye Haochuan cautiously spoke while watching her facial expression.

”If that’s the case, then why did you jump after her when she fell off the cliff? Are you telling me you have no feelings for Doctor Kou?” Haimie’s eyes started to fill with tears, showing signs she was about to cry.

Seeing her like this, Ye Haochuan felt an immense heartache. He wasn’t afraid of anything except seeing a woman cry.

”My dear wife, you really misunderstand me. If I had not jumped after her when she fell, she would’ve been smashed to pieces...”

Before he could finish explaining, Haimie started crying and struck him with her dainty hand, ”You heartless thing, if she had smashed to pieces when she fell, wouldn’t you have also smashed to pieces if you jumped down after her?”

So she’s worried about me!

A warmth spread through Ye Haochuan’s heart, and he smiled lightly while teasingly flicking her little nose, saying, ”Sister Mei, listen to what you’re saying. Do you really think your husband lacks judgment? You know what I’m capable of.”

”The cliff was so high, what if you had accidentally slipped?” Haimie pinched his chest angrily.

What’s there to fear about slipping? It’s not like I’m losing my honor!

Ye Haochuan sighed, ”I wasn’t thinking much at the moment because I was anxious to save her. But my dear wife, don’t think too much about it, if it were you, I would also risk everything to save you.”

Hearing that, Haimie felt a warm sensation in her heart, gave him a deep look with her teary, misty eyes, and said, ”You always say the sweetest things. That mouth of yours, I wonder how many other girls have fallen for your lies. I don’t know what I owe you from a past life to deserve such torment?”

Ye Haochuan was deeply ashamed. Yes, being a flirt was my fault, but I just can’t help making the same mistake over and over again. What can I do? Aren’t all men ruled by their baser instincts when it comes to the opposite sex?

”Sister Mei, you think too highly of me. How many girls can I deceive with my charm? More like they are trying to deceive me. Like you, that night, if you hadn’t seduced me, how could I have ended up in your bed?”

As he spoke, Ye Haochuan winked playfully.

”You... don’t talk about that anymore!” Remembering how proactive she was that night, Haimie’s face instantly burned with embarrassment.

Ye Haochuan wouldn’t listen to her, he sighed and said, ”In the end, it’s just that your husband is too charming. Those silly girls keep throwing themselves at me, and I can’t even fend them off. Sister Mei, I’m a hot-blooded man, not a saint. It’s natural that sometimes I act impulsively. Besides, I also have my reasons...”

He then pretended to lament his ”reasons” theatrically by looking up to the heavens.

Reasons?

Haimie spit at him, ”Having a roving eye and trying to frame it as being pure and unworldly?”

”Now this is strange, what ’reasons’ could you possibly have?” Haimie hummed.

Seeing that she took the bait, Ye Haochuan felt secretly delighted and then recited to her the same rationale he had given to Han Xue.

”What? You... you’re not from our secular world?” Xiao Haimie’s eyes widened upon hearing his explanation.

”Otherwise, do you think I would have such high martial skills and medical expertise?” Ye Haochuan countered.

Xiao Haimie’s delicate body trembled slightly. She was quite convinced by his words, yet, she wasn’t the naive Han Xue’er. She harbored doubts about the so-called polygamy within the Martial Arts Path Realm he mentioned.

”What era are we living in now? Still, the ancient practice of one husband with multiple wives? I don’t believe that the people in the Martial Arts Path Realm still cling to outdated customs!” Xiao Haimie said.

Ye Haochuan responded with a wry smile, ”That’s what you don’t understand, Sister Mei. In fact, in the Martial Arts Path Realm, there are many old-timers who have lived for hundreds, even thousands of years. Their ideas are still stuck in that past era. So, the rules of that world are dictated by them, and you can’t judge it by the standards of today.”

He wasn’t boasting; some of the information in the Huaxia Dragon Group app on his phone confirmed this regarding the sects.

Xiao Haimie nodded but then her pretty face suddenly showed a look of surprise, ”What did you just say? There are many powerful beings in the Martial Arts Path Realm who have lived for hundreds or thousands of years?”

Ye Haochuan nodded and said, ”The Internal Martial Arts Techniques I practice are quite yang-oriented. Without you women to balance it out, if the fiery energy becomes too strong and has no way of venting, it is very easy to suffer from qi deviation and burn from the inside out. My dear wife, you surely wouldn’t want me to die, right?”

As he spoke, he reached out and took her soft hand, making a pitiful look.

Her hand in his, Xiao Haimie’s heart softened, and she hesitated, ”But isn’t this... too absurd?”

Seeing her tone soften, Ye Haochuan chuckled to himself and continued, ”How can it be absurd? Like last night, I wasn’t satisfied yet, and you were already saying no. If this goes on for a long time, my desires will not be vented, and I’ll likely explode and die...”

”You’re talking nonsense...” Remembering how she had been exhausted in bed last night while he was still full of energy, Xiao Haimie felt a pang of sympathy.

”My dear wife, how about this, from now on I won’t flirt around anymore. If I really can’t bear it, I’ll just go find some prostitutes to vent. After all, ’business women don’t know the sorrow of a nation, and prostitutes don’t understand extramarital affairs.’ Since it won’t harm our marital relationship, how about it?” Ye Haochuan offered insincerely.

”What kind of rotten idea is that? You also dare to find those girls outside? Their bodies aren’t clean, aren’t you afraid of getting sick?”

Xiao Haimie glared at him.

Ye Haochuan said plaintively, ”Then what do you suggest we do?”

Xiao Haimie was at a loss for a while but finally said with resentment, ”You listen to me, if any woman flirts with you from now on, they must pass my scrutiny first. If you bring back any improper women, see how I’ll deal with you!”

Hearing this, Ye Haochuan’s face immediately lit up with a smile, ”My dear wife, you agree?”

Seeing his triumphant look, Xiao Haimie felt a wave of sadness, her tears flowing. She, the proud heiress of the Xiao Group, when had she fallen to the point of having to share her husband with others?

Her tears made Ye Haochuan feel very uncomfortable, but fortunately, he had a silver tongue and soon coaxed her into submission.

”Alright, I won’t interfere with your affairs with Doctor Kou and Han Xue’er anymore. But let me make it clear, if they really do enter the Ye Family, they must listen to me,” Xiao Haimie relented, but still with authority.

”No problem, no problem at all. Everything is up to my dear wife,” he said with a flattering smile, though he had other thoughts in his mind. No matter who these women listened to, in the end, they would all have to listen to him; otherwise, he would use his ”big stick” below to keep order!

Xiao Haimie was unaware of his sleazy thoughts, dried her tears, stood up, and said, ”Alright, enough about this. Go change your clothes, I’ll take you to an important place.”

Ye Haochuan was startled, an important place? What for?
