Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

”I can’t believe our Lord came up with this idea... But we’ve thought of it before too, it’s just that pulling it off is a bit complex and challenging because the strength and combat quality of ordinary army members differ. It’s not as simple as just recruiting us nine strong ones to cooperate.”

Tian Niu Lang originally wanted to discuss with Jia Yan the difficulties involved, but thought better of it, because he felt that since Jia Yan proposed such an idea, he must have a solution.

After all, the Yin-Yang Dao was originally created by Jia Yan, and if it didn’t suit collaborative combat, then Jia Yan could just modify it a little, couldn’t he?

In fact, Jia Yan must have considered the different levels of the large army’s training; it would definitely be unlike the level when the nine subordinates joined forces back then. With varying strengths and a number far exceeding nine, determining a way for many soldiers to cooperate, which is also suitable for fleet battles and group combat of strong ones, requires extraordinary thinking and adaptation.

So after Tian Niu Lang was called, he had already begun designing and innovating.

”In the army, distinguishing between the weak and the strong won’t be very difficult. When the time comes, I’ll just add a discrimination method, for instance, have Earth Level with Earth Level, Sky Level with Sky Level, and create respective collaboration techniques for these levels, even though they rely on the Yin-Yang Dao but are different from it...”

The more Jia Yan thought, the more inspiration he got, and next, he simply began to create a new military-style Yin-Yang Dao cultivation method.

This time, the Yin-Yang Dao cultivation method focused solely on combat and group combat, so many aspects irrelevant to combat had to be omitted.

Moreover, it’s not that this cultivation technique became inferior. In fact, because of the streamlining, this version of the Yin-Yang Dao wasn’t any worse than the ordinary one. In terms of combat power, Jia Yan extensively utilized explosive Yin-Yang Dao combat methods, which made the combat power even more formidable compared to the usual Yin-Yang Dao.

”Uh, maybe it’s because my understanding of the Yin-Yang Dao is much better now than when I created the public version, which is why the military version I’ve created this time appears to be better in every aspect compared to the civilian version... Though it’s a bit simplified, which slows down progression past the semi-permanent star level, at such a level, one could switch to cultivating the authentic Yin-Yang Dao, securing a perfect replacement for my original work, isn’t it?”

Jia Yan quickly set this version of the Yin-Yang Dao to be for military use only, prohibiting retiring soldiers from teaching it to others, to avoid attention from the Orion Arm Alliance.

Although this scrutiny isn’t particularly effective, at a large scale, it would help limit the military version’s distribution.

It’s not that Jia Yan fears others learning the superior Yin-Yang Dao, but rather, streamlining is what it is. Even though he suggests switching to the authentic Yin-Yang Dao after reaching the semi-permanent star level, making such a transition at that level could be tough, despite a seemingly negligible difference in personal estimation – a slight chance of success disparity.

This minor discrepancy, when considered at a macro level, becomes alarming. If the Orion Arm already has few at the stellar level, imagine the future deficit with even a minimal drop in combat power?

So Jia Yan planned to impose slight restrictions on the military version, detailing any shortcomings to potential learners.

It’s presumed that most ordinary soldiers wouldn’t even consider reaching the stellar level, so many would still pursue cultivation.

”Great, now this technique is completed, let’s see how the supplementary measures go, and these need to be tested by our subordinates.”

Jia Yan wasn’t convenient to emerge in public, and it would be best if no one knew his whereabouts within the Orion Arm.

Because Jia Yan had understood what the enemy wanted. The more secretive his movements, the less likely they’d attack and obliterate the Orion Arm in one blow.

They were stalling, slowly forcing Jia Yan out, step by step leading to the Orion Arm’s downfall.

As long as Jia Yan didn’t move, at least the war would remain in this peaceful state, buying time for him while marking time for the enemy.

”My Lord, I have arrived.”

On a certain day, when Tian Niu Lang reached the starry sky area indicated by Jia Yan, he shouted into the void of the starry sky.

”Take the cultivation method written here and immediately test it with the 51st battlefield troops nearby. Remember, this test is secret; you’ll understand why when you see it. Then give me the feedback report, and my whereabouts must remain confidential, understood?”

A tiny storage device flew out of subspace, then Jia Yan’s voice calmly resonated by Tian Niu Lang’s ear.

Tian Niu Lang accepted the storage device without showing any emotion, then checked its content.

”Understood, my Lord, I’ll handle it now.”

Like nothing happened, Tian Niu Lang continued flying towards another region of the starry sky.

On the surface, it seemed like Tian Niu Lang was merely taking a brief rest somewhere during his flight.

Even though he’s at the peak of the mid-tiers of the stellar level, unlike ordinary stellar-level beings, flying in the starry sky, even a galactic level powerhouse would tire, making a break seem normal.

After about half a month, while the war was still ongoing, Jia Yan received Tian Niu Lang’s feedback.

”Half a month? The first battle was yesterday, and the results were excellent!”

When Jia Yan saw the message, the Giant Mosquito Compound Eyes lit up.

Battle intelligence indicated that the tactics taught by Jia Yan became a powerful trump card for many warriors. In this battle, fifty ordinary sky-level beings annihilated ten of the enemy’s star space level – an incredibly impressive achievement.

”And this is just with sky-level beings. If this were taught to star space level, venerable level, or even semi-permanent star or stellar-level beings... wouldn’t I gain several times more combat power out of nowhere?”

Jia Yan was completely overwhelmed with joy; after waging war for so long, unable to reveal his true body, the feeling of frustration had lingered for a long time, but hearing such good news immediately dispelled much of his discomfort.

Moreover, in this report, Tian Niu Lang highlighted a certain Earth level being who had also practiced the Yin-Yang Dao. He had been stuck at Earth level for half a year, expecting it to take longer to break through, but unexpectedly, after practicing the new military Yin-Yang Dao method, he broke through to sky level in just a week.

This showed that the new cultivation method provided a speed boost for practitioners of the Yin-Yang Dao!

”Excellent, the cultivation speed is faster, transitioning almost seamlessly from the original Yin-Yang Dao to the army Yin-Yang Dao, so this new cultivation method or the group-style tactics applicable to the army can really come in handy!”

Jia Yan’s eyes were full of excitement.

”Tian Niu Lang, promote this cultivation method throughout this entire warzone for me! I want other zones to see just how good the new method is; don’t let me down in the first battle.”

Jia Yan issued an order for the entire military district to begin cultivation.

”Yes!”

Tian Niu Lang, again personally near Jia Yan, respectfully answered the command.

Jia Yan roamed through the starry sky, constantly changing locations, knowing that among galactic level powerhouses, some were exceedingly cunning, capable of tracking one’s position, thus unwilling to reveal his whereabouts, he kept roaming.

However, this roaming area was always surrounding this warzone.

He wanted to see just how quickly this new experimental tactic would show results and how effective it would be!
