Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

”What do you want to ask?”

Tian Ji probably hasn’t kept up with information from the outside world for a long time. Last time, he mentioned that his energy is nearing its critical point, and just maintaining the barrier outside the Orion Arm is already quite challenging, leaving him with no extra energy to concern himself with external affairs.

”I want to ask, now that I’ve reached the Galaxy Level, why all of a sudden a bunch of Nebula Level existences have come out of nowhere to find trouble with me, and now there are even the Sixteen Route Combined Army coming after me. I wonder if you, Senior, know anything about this.”

”Hmm? The Sixteen Route Army... it’s really started, huh.”

Tian Ji listened to Jia Yan’s words, remained silent for quite a while, and then let out a slight sigh.

”Senior, you do know something, don’t you? Please tell me. I need to figure out a way to respond.”

Jia Yan, hearing this, was sure that Tian Ji knew something, and he urgently asked him out of his anxiety.

After all, Jia Yan was a bit frustrated. He enhanced his strength and didn’t go out of his way to provoke anyone, yet so many Galaxy Level beings have joined forces against him. This made Jia Yan very annoyed. He couldn’t think of any major offenses he might have committed against Galaxy Level beings. Maybe his previous strength wasn’t even on their radar, but once he reached Galaxy Level, they all swarmed him like hornets. Since he was clueless about the real situation, he had to look into the problem from the perspective of the evolutionary creature itself.

Tian Ji became even more silent.

After a long pause, he started explaining to Jia Yan.

”Jia Yan, you need to know that every emergence of an evolutionary creature brings many disasters. And once one of us reaches the Galaxy Level, a large number of Galaxy Level beings will appear to surround and attack. This is an extremely significant threat to us evolutionary creatures, and it’s a tradition that has existed for who knows how long. Because... out of all the evolutionary creatures that reach the Galaxy Level, I am one of only four, no, including you, five. But in previous eras, there were definitely more super-strong evolutionary creatures who also vanished in history.”

”You want to know why we, as evolutionary creatures, are still attacked by other strong ones after reaching the Galaxy Level, or why even more strong ones covet us, right? I’ll tell you now!”

Tian Ji was finally going to reveal the information he knew.

”Us evolutionary creatures have been seen as delicacies by other strong ones since very, very early on. That’s right, delicacies. Frankly speaking, I suspect that millions of years ago, the purpose of evolutionary creatures’ birth was for some existence that reached the Star River Limit to create us evolutionary creatures in order to break through to the Star River Level. Even the research results that led to the creation of evolutionary creatures have been circulating inside Orion Arm and may continue to do so in the future...”

”Unfortunately, we don’t know if that strong one managed to break through the Star River Level, but due to his tinkering, evolutionary creatures became beings whose power advanced rapidly. But that’s nothing much because, although our evolutionary creature clan progresses incredibly fast in this Starfield, looking at the entire Milky Way, there are other similar species, some even advancing faster than us. The biggest characteristic of us evolutionary creatures is the research outcome set by that strong one from back then... we can enhance the strength of other strong ones!”

”Precisely, in the eyes of that strong one, we were a kind of medicine; and when he disappeared, in the eyes of other strong ones, we evolutionary creatures also became excellent medicine.”

Tian Ji’s voice became a bitter smile.

”Now that you’ve reached this level of strength, I can tell you this much. I don’t understand much beyond that, but I want to tell you that to other species, we evolutionary creatures are like the ’Tang Sanzang meat’ in the Earth ancient novels you have now; whoever obtains it benefits. Actually, I’ve been using my avatar to guard the Orion Arm, and it’s very easy for other Galaxy Level strong ones to enter, or even wipe me out, but they haven’t done so. Although there are many reasons for this, such as the Orion Arm not being worth it, there’s another more important reason: that outside strong ones are waiting, waiting for Orion Arm to continue producing ’evolutionary beast experts’ for them to consume as medicine!”

”Now you know why the Orion Arm hasn’t been disturbed by outside strong ones for so long, and why once you reached the Galaxy Level, strong ones immediately came to trouble you?”

After listening to Tian Ji’s words, Jia Yan fell silent once again.

He was digesting the implications of these words.

In some sense, Jia Yan found this hard to accept.

To think that the incredibly powerful evolutionary creature clan, a species Jia Yan takes pride in, is regarded as a kind of ’medicine’ in the eyes of those outside Galaxy Level strong ones?

It’s very possible that Jia Yan’s whole growth was under the careful watch of others, with many Galaxy Level beings waiting for him to reach the Galaxy Level, only to initiate the final slaughter and turn him into a delicacy to enhance their strength?

”Haha, I get it now. Actually, with what you’ve told me, a lot of things begin to make sense. However, Senior, I’m sure you’ve resisted, but now... it’s my turn!”

Jia Yan laughed heartily, letting go of the burden.

No matter if evolutionary creatures are seen as medicine by others, if they dare to think that way, then Jia Yan will make it so they dare not think that way again. If they wish to continue reaching out towards the evolutionary creature clan, then Jia Yan will prove with strength that their reckoning is off; the evolutionary creature clan will always be a super strong species.

Though Predecessor Tian Ji resisted, even without asking, Jia Yan could tell from the vast defensive network Tian Ji established within the Orion Arm that he had not completely failed.

In generations before, there might have been failures, or some who were reduced to being a resource for others, but Jia Yan believed in his generation, that kind of situation would never happen again.

”Hahaha, that’s excellent. I knew you would say that. None of us evolutionary creatures are cowards, and in every generation, evolutionary creatures get better. Your strength is, in fact, the strongest among the coeval generations. As long as you get past the current low point in strength, you will definitely stand at the top of the Milky Way! When that time comes, rather than them wanting to consume your flesh and blood, you shall consume theirs, hahahaha.”

Seeing Jia Yan’s immense spirit, Tian Ji couldn’t help but laugh heartily as well. The kind of smile that shifted the initial impression Jia Yan had of him, suggesting this strong one was surely a wild character in his prime.

Unfortunately, no matter how formidable, many have now passed.

The future world depends on Jia Yan.

”Alright, Senior, though I do have pride, I’m not arrogant enough to think I’ve surpassed all of you. Now, with the Sixteen Route Combined Army upon me, I don’t exactly know how to cope, or what actions to take, and to what extent. Because even if I defeat them, what then? You should know that modern Cosmic Strongmen are perhaps even stronger than those from 250,000 years ago, so please, what do you suggest I do?”

”Are you asking for my opinion? Very well, you haven’t become excessively prideful, at least understanding to consult other’s opinions. So, let me offer you my advice,”

Tian Ji nodded with satisfaction.

He was actually worried Jia Yan might become someone arrogant and conceited upon reaching a certain level of power, but seeing now, although Jia Yan was proud, he’s far from complacent.

This is the kind of person Tian Ji admired.

”My advice to you is...”

”Retreat!”

”That’s right, retreat. You should know yourself that we evolutionary creatures experience a period of stable enhancement during a certain stage of our strength. I learned online that you reached the Galaxy Level less than ten years ago, and given my situation, you likely have a period of further enhancement ahead of you.”
