Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Capítulo 1983: Chapter 23: Turf War!

“What did you say before you came? You said your sister promised to take care of you and let our family come to the city. And now? We’ve arrived. Where’s the care? It’s just empty words.”

The female Giant lowered her head, unsure of what to say. Because indeed, what her sister’s family did wasn’t quite humane.

And her husband wasn’t wrong; her sister’s family wasn’t pleased at all about their arrival. Instead, after the initial shock, they outright refused their request to stay at their house.

Before coming, they kept saying that they’d let them stay at their place, but once they arrived, they refused. It’s a complete change of face from what they promised before.

“Alright, luckily I have a brother here. Let’s go check out his place.”

The Giant man seemed to have another option.

Their alternative was a family that wasn’t doing well either, but this time the Giant man’s brother accepted them.

“Alright, this family finally settled down. I can also see if there are any opportunities. But right now, the energy within my body isn’t fully absorbed, so I can’t receive energy for the time being. It’s better to just look around the area for now.”

Jia Yan knew that he couldn’t just freeload on this family forever. Although they might find it hard to notice Jia Yan, there would always be a chance, and if discovered, it would be extremely dangerous for him.

Therefore, without blood-sucking, maintaining a certain distance from them was a necessary precaution.

Jia Yan flew out of the brother’s house where they temporarily stayed.

The giant-sized house was enormous. Jia Yan flew for quite a while before he finally left the courtyard of this house.

“Hmm, though there are fewer creatures here, it’s not that there aren’t any.”

Jia Yan only stayed in this courtyard briefly but discovered that in this Giant brother’s house, there were indeed many creatures.

For example, the bugs on the ground were constantly feeding on the microbes within the earth. Oh, wait, from the perspective of Earth people, these bugs would seem as big as a human but were considered micro-organisms in this world.

On the trees, many insects were devouring the nutrients from within the trees to survive.

“It seems that the so-called restriction on external creatures isn’t absolute. After all, this is a world, and the city is so large. How could they completely prevent outside creatures from entering? Of course, they would ensure that more dangerous ones wouldn’t enter, or if they did, would be instantly killed.”

Jia Yan finally understood.

This Giant City was enormous. Even though Jia Yan only flew outside the courtyard to have a look, after seeing several houses, he felt like he had been flying for a long time.

Late into the night, Jia Yan was continuously flying through the streets.

His body, like a real Mosquito, swiftly darted about the city.

The deserted streets were now completely open for Jia Yan’s flight. He inspected house after house, but felt a strange sensation in his heart.

“The people in this Giant City, many of them seem to have the same level of power as that particular family. But with such an advantage to their species, wouldn’t it be handing their advantage over if none of them harness the Energy of Dao?”

Jia Yan found it hard to believe that there weren’t any Strong Ones within the Giant Tribe. He paused on the rooftop of a house to think quietly.

“That’s right, this is fundamentally a civilian area. If I were in a more powerful place, there would surely be relatively strong individuals present.”

Jia Yan flew up high and looked distantly towards the center of the city.

After pondering, Jia Yan decided to abandon the idea of exploring further, because, for him, whether there were powerful beings in this Giant Tribe was meaningless.

What if there were? What if there weren’t? If there were, Jia Yan would be struck down in one blow by the Giant Tribe. If not, he’d still be killed by ordinary Giants.

Moreover, if there really were Strong Ones of the Giant Tribe who had mastered the Path, Jia Yan’s rash visit would be the real danger.

So he decisively gave up on the idea of exploration, then quietly landed on a leaf somewhere.

Effortlessly killing an insect-like creature that approached, comparable in size to Jia Yan, he sank back into deep thought.

“I still have some room for strength improvement. Once I’ve raised my power, I’ll feed on the blood of that family’s man. But actually, I can already confirm that the surrounding families aren’t very powerful. I could directly feed on others, but that specific family isn’t particularly wary of me, so it’s better to feed on them.”

Jia Yan felt that feeding on that specific family’s blood was safer. Moreover, after feeding on the child’s and the woman’s blood in the past few days, their faces swelled and itched extremely the next day, but they got used to it after a while.

If it happened to another family, they’d probably turn their house upside down searching for whatever insect bit them their faces were swollen.

The status of the Giant Tribe in this world was so high that Even Jia Yan suspected, among creatures of such size, they might be the most powerful kind. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible for them to have built such a vast city.
