Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1962: Chapter 12: Take Action

Regarding Jia Yan, a being neither human nor a creature of the monkey race and not an entity of this forest, this invincible monkey strong one did not hold him in high esteem.

Generally speaking, every species has certain outside vassals, and at this moment, he took Jia Yan as such a vassal.

And the strength of a vassal, while it can be significant, is generally quite weak.

Jia Yan and the grand elder both ignored the words of this monkey creature.

Jia Yan’s eyes gleamed with brilliance as he contemplated the conditions laid out by the grand elder and pondered how he should proceed.

He was not entirely incapable of taking action, but in his current state, Jia Yan’s combat power was too weak.

”Unfortunately, I’m one step away from comprehending the first path, which is my own understanding of the Yin-Yang system. If I can take this step, I will gain battle power in this world.”

Jia Yan knew that his current strength was indeed weak, but the weakness lay in the most fundamental power. Although his brainwave power could circulate within his body, it could only do so barely with a tiny bit of movement, let alone be equal to ordinary universal power outside, not even one-tenth of it.

However, if he could possess the first piece of power in this world that he could use, and it was the most comprehended and powerful Yin-Yang system power, then his strength would likely be much greater than it is now.

How much stronger exactly, Jia Yan did not know. In any case, he understood that it would definitely be much stronger.

At this moment, Jia Yan’s thoughts were racing.

He did not desire to fight but still wanted to obtain that enlightenment item.

After thinking for a moment, he raised his head.

”Grand Elder, if you are sincere, then give me that medicine first.”

He said.

Initially, he thought the grand elder would surely offer some excuse or condition, or perhaps impose some restrictions on Jia Yan’s usage.

Unexpectedly, the grand elder simply turned his head and spoke to the bald man Jia Yan had encountered on his exploration path.

”Go and fetch a piece of our enlightenment pill for Mister Jia Yan.”

”Yes.”

Although the man did not know what words had passed between the grand elder and Jia Yan, he understood it must be something exchanged between the grand elder and Mister Jia Yan.

However, he truly did not know whether an enlightenment pill could interest a strong one of Jia Yan’s level to exchange.

For this bald man, he himself had been defeated by Jia Yan, and he had no interest in this so-called enlightenment pill, considering it a low-end item. Why would Jia Yan be interested?

But since Jia Yan requested it, he would provide it because these were the grand elder’s words during such a crucial moment.

After all, to him, this pill was not overly precious to their species. Many young ones with good talent, who showed potential for great future development, would be bestowed with this pill by the grand elder.

For example, Wu Peili and Luzhi were able to comprehend the path after being given this pill. As a result, they were also able to be of considerable assistance in the great battle among the young ones.

He forced his opponent aside, handed him over to another tribesman of similar strength, and then ran towards the towering tree in the council hall.

”Where are you running? Stop him! This guy must be up to something.”

The monkey, who was his opponent and likely held a significant position within the monkey race, shouted as he saw him conversing with the grand elder several times before leaving.

However, as several monkeys went to stop the bald man, a human jumped up and intercepted the blocking force.

No one knew the item that the bald man was retrieving was destined to be handed over to Jia Yan, the outsider.

And Jia Yan’s thoughts were straightforward; whether or not to fight was one thing. But having listened to the grand elder’s explanation, he genuinely felt a strange feeling, as if he was on the verge of comprehending something, yet not quite there.

Stuck in this feeling, he was extremely displeased.

Upon hearing the grand elder say that they had medicine that could allow people to quickly comprehend the path within their race, he was intrigued.

Although Jia Yan couldn’t imagine what kind of item this could be that even enabled people to quickly comprehend the ’Dao,’ which greatly exceeded his imagination, it didn’t hinder his interest in acquiring it to see if it would be useful for him.

”If it works, my Yin-Yang system can transform into the Yin-Yang Dao, and by then, whether my combat power will surge remains unknown.”

In the mosquito compound eyes of Jia Yan, glowed strands of brilliance. He had already thought that if acquiring this medicine required a lot of time for enlightenment, he would still find a way to escape and leave this place of trouble.

If he took this medicine and genuinely comprehended the Dao, but the emergence of the Dao did not result in a surge in his strength, he would still choose to quietly slip away.

Although that would surely be somewhat difficult.

As for the third possibility, that was what Jia Yan also hoped to see.

This possibility was that Jia Yan obtained whatever medicine it was, quickly comprehended the Yin-Yang Dao after consuming it, and consequently, his strength instantly surged.

If so, he would be willing to fight for this species, as they had at least offered him some assistance. However, the level of combat would never be to fight to the death for them, and he would withdraw if things went awry.

And while Jia Yan was contemplating all of this, the bald man who had left returned after a hectic run.

The difference was, in his hand, he held an object resembling a box.

If placed outside, this box could accommodate people. But in this world, a box was just a box, not very large, and it was unclear what was placed inside.

Of course, when Jia Yan saw him, he immediately fixed his gaze on the box in his hand because he knew the item he desired was inside.

”Mister Jia Yan, here is the medicine we are offering. I have brought you ten pills in total and hope you can hold to your promise.”

The bald man had fetched ten pills of what the grand elder had referred to as medicine.

Jia Yan was stunned. The grand elder’s words didn’t seem like that quantity.

Maybe the instructions were for that number; regardless, the more the better. Even if he could only use one, perhaps he could exchange the rest for money in this world.

Jia Yan accepted the box and, upon opening it, found it filled with fragrant pills.

But as he opened the box, the grand elder in the midst of battle, seemed to notice.

He staggered, almost struck by the monkey strong one.

”You prodigal! You took ten at once. I only asked for one, and you took ten!”

Upon hearing this, Jia Yan was overjoyed but deliberately pretended not to hear, directly tucking the box under his wing membrane to take away if needed later.

”Uh,” the bald man was suddenly at a loss upon hearing the grand elder’s words, then glanced at Jia Yan and saw him stash away the items.

Suddenly, he realized Jia Yan couldn’t possibly return them.

Moreover, just as he initially suspected, these pills seemed to hold no significant value in his eyes, so he sighed and did not ask Jia Yan to return them and went straight towards the battlefield.

Because the human strong one replacing him in combat was already wounded, if he didn’t intervene, a strong one might fall.

And Jia Yan, on the other hand, received a long-distance message using the grand elder’s Dao technique.

”Mister Jia Yan, is this satisfactory? Are you ready to act?”
