Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1954: Chapter 8: One Strike

And today, upon seeing Jia Yan, he felt that this otherworldly presence seemed quite unusual, but he couldn’t exactly pinpoint why. So, he wanted to test his skills against him. With one strike, if the opponent truly had some formidable abilities, he felt he would be able to probe it out.

Both parties headed to a relatively secluded branch of a giant tree.

”Sir, I wonder how I should address you?”

Once they arrived and both sides had settled, the white-haired elder finally had the chance to ask Jia Yan for his name.

”Jia Yan.”

Anyway, he had already mentioned his name to Wu Peili and the others, so he had no qualms about stating it again. Jia Yan straightforwardly laid it out.

”Jia Yan, is it? I’m Bidil, remember that.”

Jia Yan nodded, indicating that he remembered.

In reality, Bidil was also observing Jia Yan’s demeanor. Seeing that upon hearing his name, Jia Yan showed no reaction, he was slightly intrigued.

To know, Bidil’s reputation in the nearby forest was extremely notorious. In this forest, apart from a few Kings, his power was the most fearsome. So, when outsiders came to this forest, they would surely be warned not to offend someone of his tyrannical stature.

Yet this alien presence seemed as if he was unbothered by his name.

Either Jia Yan truly did not recognize his name, or he had heard it but was not intimidated by it.

Bidil chose to believe the latter possibility.

For someone who had come to this forest, how could no one have informed him of his name?

He found it hard to believe. In this world, going to a place without first understanding the power and names of the strong ones was as good as courting death blindly. At least, without achieving a truly formidable state, no one would dare be this bold.

”Alright, let’s do this. If you can go toe-to-toe with me in one strike, then apart from explaining the path that children learn, I will also tell you some of my unique insights. However, if you can’t withstand it, then apologies, you won’t even hear the children’s teachings. How about that?”

Bidil said this to Jia Yan.

”Ultimately, isn’t it just because you don’t want me to listen, right? Hehe, let’s give it a try then. I’d like to see just how formidable you, as an Elder, truly are.”

Jia Yan allowed a slight chill to settle in his demeanor, then assumed a defensive stance.

He did not genuinely believe that he could match the opponent in battle. Rather, he was confident in his Bluish defense at this moment.

The Bluish defense did not seem to be restrained in this world, so Jia Yan thought that solely with defense, his power could be shown to be a notch above its current level.

Especially when he had just arrived in this world, he had used the Bluish defense to block even the bat’s attack. For Jia Yan, it was as though he had received a shot of adrenaline, making him realize that although his power had diminished in this world, he still had an ace that wouldn’t be suppressed.

With an unbreakable shell, anyone who fought him would end up in tears.

Of course, Jia Yan did not completely underestimate the opponent. In fact, at this moment, he believed he needed to be cautious. Even if the Grand elder couldn’t break his Bluish defense, there was still the possibility of hurting him a little.

”This Grand elder probably has the average power of a middle-order Stellar existence if placed in the outer universe. However, this is somewhat puzzling, as his power is just a level above Wu Peili and others. Why then does he come across as a much stronger senior? Could it be that the power gap between levels in this world is greater than I thought?”

Jia Yan pondered in his mind.

But his contemplation did not last long. Once both parties had assumed their positions and finished speaking,

the Grand elder saw Jia Yan assume a defensive stance. He smiled slightly and then charged straight at him.

For true strong ones, fighting requires no prior exchange of words.

If every battle required the enemy to notify them of every attack, then what would be the point of being considered strong? They might as well have the enemy announce each attacking move bluntly.

Jia Yan did not perceive anything wrong with the elder’s actions.

Just as the attack came, his heart tightened ever so slightly.

”So fast.”

Jia Yan felt the approaching Grand elder’s figure moving incredibly quickly.

This speed was beyond what he could manage without entering a subspace state; it was a peak level power.

It seemed that in basic power comparisons, Jia Yan was still not as powerful as the opponent.

Poof.

The Grand elder did not give Jia Yan much time to be astonished and came in directly with a punch.

”This move is called Dao Barbarian Fist, embodying my understanding of the path. It’s originally a newly developed incomplete move with just average power. But here you are, the first to taste it, feeling honored, aren’t you?”

During his attack, the Grand elder used a force similar yet slightly different from brainwave power to quickly speak.

While he talked, Jia Yan could only feel the power of the incoming punch seemingly doubling in strength.

”What is this? How can the attack power still increase?”

Jia Yan’s attention was entirely captured by the attack.

As a middle-order Stellar powerhouse from the outside, Jia Yan felt he had seen a lot, even having fought several Divine Emperors.

Yet he had never seen anyone able to perform a move to such an extent.

In an instant, he suddenly comprehended why the Grand elder’s aura felt just at a middle-order Stellar level yet bore such a stark contrast in standing and status to Wu Peili and the others.

It simply was because this world’s ’middle-order Stellar’ was entirely distinct from the outer middle-order Stellar, belonging uniquely here.

What appeared to be middle-order Stellar level could not be compared to the outer world’s when it came to explosive power during a fight.

Facing the energy ahead, the shock in Jia Yan’s eyes could not be concealed.

”What is this?”

”What is this?”

Jia Yan was utterly astounded, unable to dodge or block.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, but at that moment, his power was entirely dominated by the opponent, or rather, not dominated but some ineffable feeling...

Lock.

Yes, lock.

Jia Yan had never experienced such a feeling before. This elder who suddenly performed like a Saiyan, explosively surged his power by a huge margin. The might of this strike now even surpassed the three Divine Emperors he had confronted earlier.

It was staggering.

”Huh?” the incoming Grand elder, just as the attack was about to reach Jia Yan’s side, furrowed his brows slightly.

Following that, his attack slightly retracted, and a punch softly landed on Jia Yan’s body.

Facing this attack, Jia Yan merely felt like a small boat amidst a turbulent sea, the force penetrating his entire body instantly.

Jia Yan possessed the power of a middle-order Stellar, which had seen some reduction upon arriving in this world. Now, his power was probably just that of an average middle-order Stellar at best.

However, the power that erupted from the opponent in that instant far exceeded middle-order Stellar, even nearly surpassing the latter stages.

And this, even with apparent restraint from the elder.

Was there a way for Jia Yan to avoid it?

Even if Jia Yan could not dodge, he still had his Bluish defense. At this moment, his Counteractive Cellular Power in his body also wholeheartedly manifested.

Boom.

At that instant,

Jia Yan’s Bluish defense within was like a breached flood, coupled with the counteractive material power, like recognizing an immense external crisis, both surged out fiercely.
