Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1400: Chapter 12 The Employer Learns the News [Seeking Genuine Subscription]

That Secondary Powerhouse presented the call records on his Smart Brain and also the small mosquito motif Jia Yan had sent to this powerhouse before.

”Ah, a valued guest. Please, this way.”

The welcoming Secondary-level monster immediately displayed a professional smile and escorted this first client to the stone house where Jia Yan resided.

On the lintel of the stone house door, a few Huaxia characters were etched: Listening to Sky Pavilion.

”Such poetic writing.”

Although he wasn’t particularly impressed by the surrounding architecture, the moment this visitor saw the characters inscribed on the building, he experienced a different emotion. After all, Huaxia characters carried a sense of elegance and antiquity that, in the eyes of extra-terrestrial beings, held a distinct charm.

After stepping into the stone house, this monster found himself in a grand hall. At the upper end of the hall, a being with the metallic appearance of a flying creature sat in silence, watching him intently.

The moment this powerhouse laid eyes on the other being, he was filled with unease.

Though the other being appeared to also be a Secondary Powerhouse, as someone who had survived countless battles, he could instantly tell that the other’s strength far outclassed his own.

”I greet this friend from the Listening to Sky Pavilion.”

The Secondary-level monster quickly and respectfully saluted the elevated figure.

At the same time, he glanced to the side of the elevated being and froze yet again. Beside the flying monster sat another powerhouse whose strength completely overwhelmed his own.

Both of these beings were High-level Talented individuals.

His heart trembled with fear as if a hint of dread was lodged deep inside.

High-level Talents—these were entities more feared by external factions than even the relentless creatures of the Dark Realm.

”Alright, no need to be overly formal. After all, you are our client.”

The metallic bird-like monster nodded lightly, exuding an air of authority as if trying to ease the tension.

But it was precisely this demeanor that made the visitor even more nervous.

”May I ask, dear friend, whether the task I commissioned has been completed?”

Though the visitor was tense, he did not forget the reason for his arrival.

In truth, coming here today was a complete surprise for him. After assigning a task to the Listening to Sky Pavilion some time ago, the organization had gone totally silent. He had assumed his ten thousand Genius Yuan was lost, written off as sunk cost. Yet, unexpectedly, after a while, a message came through claiming the task was complete.

In fact, just before he landed on the star’s surface, he had even caught a glimpse of his cargo ship from high orbit.

”Of course. Let me take you to see it now.”

The metallic creature led him out of the stone house and to the area where battleships were docked.

”It really is my cargo ship. Thank you, thank you!” Upon seeing his ship, the Secondary-level monster could no longer suppress his joy, nearly crying tears of happiness.

”No need to thank us. It’s simply our duty. Now, kindly settle the payment. If you’ve also prepared the items I requested, we can proceed with the exchange.”

The metallic bird-like monster from the Listening to Sky Pavilion, which was clearly none other than Jia Yan cloaked in the form of a Conceptual Ship, addressed him with an air of authority. The display further intimidated the visitor, solidifying his respectful and apprehensive view of the Listening to Sky Pavilion, which had been Jia Yan’s intent all along.

After concluding the transaction, the visitor handed over the items Jia Yan had specifically requested.

This included a Space Stone, along with part of the payment.

While Space Stones were relatively rare, they weren’t unattainable for strong beings from external factions. Losing his cargo might have cost him his life, so parting with a Space Stone and some money was an acceptable price to pay.

Not long after, a fleet of cargo ships ascended from the Listening to Sky Pavilion’s star.

It turned out that this string of cargo ships operated in unison, allowing a single individual to pilot them with difficulty.

Inside one of the ships, the Listening to Sky Pavilion’s first client reflected to himself with mixed emotions.

”The Listening to Sky Pavilion isn’t anything like the baseless rumors say. It’s leagues better than many other agencies I’ve encountered.”

The client thought back to when he had previously asked about the Listening to Sky Pavilion online, only to be met with skepticism, mockery, and ridicule. Even he began to believe the online detractors, cursing the Pavilion alongside them. Now he felt deeply ashamed.

Logging back onto the network, he found the old threads where he had disparaged the Listening to Sky Pavilion and began rebutting the comments one by one.

”You bastards! It’s your fault I almost insulted my benefactors! The Listening to Sky Pavilion not only delivered, but there were no unreasonable clauses. They’re incredibly powerful, unlike the fraudulent agencies you claimed. You’re all the incompetent ones!”

”I swear, the Listening to Sky Pavilion is absolutely reliable!”

After replying to each comment and even arguing back and forth with some of the original detractors, the Secondary Powerhouse finally stopped.

”At least I’ve repaid a part of my debt to the Listening to Sky Pavilion. Alright, time to get back—”

”Wait... Something seems off.”

”Among the beings who hosted me earlier, some seemed... vaguely familiar. Where had I seen them before?”

After wracking his brain for a long time, his expression suddenly changed as recognition dawned.

”It turns out that monster... was someone I once fought head-on! And those others, they were part of a group of thieves. This...!”

The client stood frozen in shock for a long time, unable to comprehend the full picture.

Eventually, he let out a helpless chuckle, giving up his pursuit of the truth.

The Listening to Sky Pavilion’s two High-level Talent Secondary-level geniuses could easily wipe him out, even if they had to infiltrate his faction for a single ambush. He decided it was better to let bygones be bygones.

Although he vaguely suspected there were hidden stories within the Listening to Sky Pavilion, he chose not to edit or retract his earlier rebuttals online, swallowing his doubts with resignation.

Meanwhile, at the Pavilion, Jia Yan found the situation amusing as news of their first client not recognizing his former enemies reached him.

”It makes sense. Who would ever expect that the people servicing you in the faction you hired would turn out to be the same group that robbed you before?”

Jia Yan chuckled to himself, then opened the network.

Seeing the client defending the Listening to Sky Pavilion online with great zeal, boosting its reputation significantly, Jia Yan couldn’t help but feel entertained.

As he mused over this, a communication request came in.

”Listening to Sky Pavilion? I’d like to hire you for a guard mission.”

Another business deal had arrived, and messages poured in one after another. Plainly, that client’s online efforts were yielding excellent results.

Jia Yan had almost casually established the Listening to Sky Business as a factional entity. Little did he know that the Group of Futile Life, with whom he had clashed before, remained deeply invested in his movements.

”According to reliable sources, that Listening to Sky Pavilion is likely the very group that invaded our Star of Carnival. After offending us, the Group of Futile Life, they still dare to appear so boldly in public—what unparalleled audacity.”

”However, their strength cannot be underestimated. A single Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Star Level entity couldn’t stop him, and he even managed to contend with the joint efforts of a High-level Talent Secondary Barrier genius. This is no ordinary High-level Talent.”

On a dimly lit star, several Semi-permanent Star-level beings gathered, their expressions grave as they deliberated.

”It’s fine if we don’t act against Mo Ke. But if he grows stronger and comes back for revenge, it’ll pose a serious threat. Someone of his caliber could rival a High-level Talent Semi-permanent Star existence with ease.”

”We can’t confirm whether he bears a grudge, but given the opportunity, killing him to eliminate future risks would be prudent.”

”In that case, let’s approach him disguised as clients to test the waters.”

...

”Lord, our Listening to Sky Pavilion has seen a sudden increase in tasks recently. However, we’re severely understaffed. I’ve noticed that both High-level Lords often take on missions together, but may I suggest you oversee separate fleets? That way, our clients won’t have to wait as long for their services.”

On the Hearing Sky Star, a loyal Secondary-level subordinate made his earnest recommendation.

This Secondary-level being had been one of those Jia Yan had once ’persuaded’ to come to the Listening to Sky Star. Perhaps after realizing how much better life was here compared to being a low-level bandit, this group of Secondary-level beings became significantly more cooperative. Instances like today, where suggestions were offered, had become increasingly common.

Of course, with the Pavilion’s fair pricing and its two High-level Talent Secondary Powerhouses, even naysayers who previously doubted its reputation now praised it. Some had dug up evidence proving that ”Mo Ke” was the same individual who had caused havoc on the Star of Carnival owned by the Group of Futile Life. From that moment, no one dared question the strength of the Listening to Sky Pavilion.

After all, Mo Ke was someone who could rival an Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Star Level entity!

With that level of power, one could easily hold a high position in a major faction. Running an agency seemed entirely unnecessary. Yet Mo Ke chose to do so, and his service attitude was exemplary.

Given that most issues arising in the border regions weren’t overly complex, even if there were missions the Pavilion couldn’t handle, Jia Yan and his team didn’t hesitate to decline them outright.

The result was the Pavilion’s reputation growing by leaps and bounds daily. Even competitors who wanted to discredit it didn’t dare utter a word against a group backed by a power approaching the Semi-permanent Star Level.

”We won’t conduct operations separately. The reasons are confidential.”

Within the Pavilion, Jia Yan listened to his subordinate’s suggestion and decisively shook his head, rejecting the idea.
