Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Sure enough, the figure that appeared in dark hues, with a long proboscis, sharp forelimbs, and a pair of wings with delicate wing veins—if not Jia Yan, who else could it be?

But he was still himself, and the 251 Star Zone remained as it was. The only difference was that Jia Yan’s strength now was completely different!

When he left, Jia Yan couldn’t even defeat a single Semi-permanent Star Level powerhouse. But now, upon his return, his strength had surged to the point where crushing a Semi-permanent Star Genius of the 251 Star Zone was as effortless as slicing through vegetables.

”H-he-he...”

A member of Er Tian’s Forces stood frozen, nearly believing they had seen a ghost.

”He’s still just a Dignitary. His Brainwave Power only increased from the middle period of the Dignitary stage to the late period. How could he become so terrifying?”

Another Semi-permanent Star Genius was dumbfounded. ”That strike just now killed Luo Banru, whose strength is similar to mine, in a single blow. I couldn’t even perceive the speed of that attack. If it were me, I’d be dead in one strike too. This is...”

The members of Er Tian’s Forces were deeply shocked and incredulous about Jia Yan’s sudden reappearance.

Jia Yan glanced at the severely injured Lord Huangfu and the Wu Ci’s Force Star Body.

”Fortunately, the losses are acceptable.”

Jia Yan exhaled a long breath.

It turned out that the distress signal he had received earlier was indeed sent by Wu Ci’s Forces. After searching through the starry sky, the Adisa had detected signs of a battle in this area. In his urgency, Jia Yan tore through space and directly arrived at the battlefield.

What followed was Jia Yan’s dramatic rescue of Lord Huangfu.

”That’s Jia Yan? Jia Yan has returned. We’re saved!”

Inside Wu Ci’s Force Star Body, most of Er Tian’s secondary powerhouses were still unaware of the external situation, continuing their slaughter. However, some dignitaries of Wu Ci’s Forces noticed the strange activity in the starry sky.

”Jia Yan has returned? So what? He’s just a Dignitary. Coming back is simply adding one more to the death toll.”

”I think so too. Last time, his strength proved to be at most on par with Lord Huangfu’s. He’ll be of no help here. And don’t forget, the reason Wu Ci’s Forces ended up like this is because of Jia Yan!”

Some dignitaries, who were already unfriendly towards Jia Yan, remained unimpressed by his return.

”Ah!”

A Dignitary was about to be killed under the ferocious assault of a secondary powerhouse.

At the moment when this Dignitary let out a deafening cry, believing that their death was imminent, a faint shadow of a monster silently emerged inside Wu Ci’s Force Star Body, slicing through the attacking secondary powerhouse.

Puff!

Puff, puff, puff!

The monster moved with such incredible speed, like an afterimage sweeping across the bewildered eyes of its enemies.

When the creatures of Wu Ci’s Forces scanned their surroundings, they were horrified to find that the endangered Dignitaries of Wu Ci’s Forces were all alive, while the secondary powerhouse creatures attacking them were each dead—bodies cleanly sliced in two by some sharp weapon.

The shadowy figure paused momentarily after its sweeping assault.

”Jia Yan?”

Even as dignitaries with sharp eyes and strong powers, the creatures recognized the figure during its brief halt.

”Alright, there’s no need to flee. I’ll handle these members of Er Tian’s Forces here and now.”

Jia Yan cast an indifferent glance at the Dignitaries on this level of the star body, then disappeared from sight once more.

All of this happened in less than half a second. Even though everyone was a powerhouse, with differences in their strength, they could still manage to hold multiple exchanges within such brief moments.

In a matter of seconds, Jia Yan darted through the entire star body, using Brainwave Power to eliminate those it could handle. For those beyond that capacity, he materialized physically and struck them down.

When he reappeared, he was already at Lord Huangfu’s side.

Meanwhile, the Wu Ci’s Force Star Body, which had moments before resounded with the chaos of slaughter and the taste of blood, was now utterly devoid of any presence from Er Tian’s Forces.

They were all dead!

”Jia Yan, you’ve returned. Thank you for saving my life.”

This was the first time Lord Huangfu officially addressed Jia Yan, standing weak and barely holding on to the thread of life by his side.

Jia Yan let out a long sigh. Once upon a time, when he had just arrived at the Genius Battlefield, Lord Huangfu had seemed like an insurmountable presence. Now, in his eyes, Lord Huangfu no longer looked so formidable.

”Don’t worry about your injuries. I have some items that will help.”

Jia Yan glanced into the distance, where the tide of battle had suddenly shifted, leaving the fleeing creatures of Er Tian’s Forces scattered. With that, his form disappeared into the folds of space again.

Looking at the faint remnants of Jia Yan’s presence, Lord Huangfu couldn’t help but feel a trace of similarity to Jia Yan’s own thoughts. Back then, the once-weak Giant Mosquito had now far surpassed him.

In the past, when Jia Yan tore through space, Lord Huangfu had been able to perceive his movements. But now, he couldn’t even discern which direction Jia Yan had gone.

Of course, Jia Yan’s destination was obvious—those fleeing members of Er Tian’s Forces!

”Run, run! Jia Yan’s strength has grown unimaginably. I don’t think even King Er could rival him now.”

In the starry sky, a Semi-permanent Star Genius of Er Tian’s Forces kept looking back in terror as he retreated. The expression of fear on his face was impossible to hide.

To them, Jia Yan had originally seemed like a minor nuisance, someone with some potential at best. None could have predicted that Jia Yan, who had promised to challenge King Er in half a year, would, in less than that time, transform into a monster far beyond their comprehension.

”When I return, I must report on Jia Yan’s strength. No matter whether King Er flees or not, I must escape myself. Jia Yan’s power isn’t something our current Er Tian’s Forces can contend with. Perhaps I can find refuge with Er Long’s Forces since their headquarters aligns with ours.”

The Semi-permanent Star Genius was already calculating his means of survival.

Little did he know, even if he made it to Er Long’s Forces, they—fearing Jia Yan—might kill him outright to appease their new overlord.

But then again, if this Semi-permanent Star Genius could truly escape Jia Yan, he wouldn’t have been deployed to this backwater region of the 251 Star Zone in the first place.

”Trying to flee? With your strength, that’s impossible.”

The powerhouse barely registered the faint voice that echoed close by before his entire body shuddered violently.

In the next moment, he experienced a surreal disconnection, his view spinning uncontrollably in the emptiness of space. He could see a headless body—eerily familiar—slowing down as it drifted lifelessly from earlier breakneck speeds.

Realization struck him in his final thought: the body looked just like his own. Then, silence; his consciousness dissipated entirely...

Lord Huangfu stood quietly amidst the starry void, watching the distant battlefield unfold.

No matter how the invaders from Er Tian’s Forces tried to escape, Jia Yan effortlessly caught up and dispatched them with precision.

”Er Tian’s Forces... You never would have imagined it, would you? Jia Yan has truly risen to such power, ha...”

Lord Huangfu let out a soft laugh, though it strained his wounds, eliciting a small groan of pain.

Jia Yan didn’t keep him waiting long. Mere dozens of seconds later, he returned to Huangfu’s side.

Space distorted around them as Jia Yan appeared unharmed. To Lord Huangfu’s astonishment, even after pursuing so many invaders, Jia Yan didn’t seem to have exerted his true strength at all.

”Lord Huangfu, let’s return to the star body. I’ll heal your wounds.”

Carrying Lord Huangfu, Jia Yan transported them back to Wu Ci’s Force Star Body.

Though the star body was riddled with damage and most of its life-support systems rendered unfunctional, the star body’s genius powerhouses suffered minimal losses thanks to Jia Yan’s timely arrival.

”Welcome back, Lord Jia Yan! Welcome back, Lord Huangfu!”

As Jia Yan and Lord Huangfu entered the star body, a uniform chorus of voices from gathered creatures greeted them.

Having already used his Brainwave Power to understand the situation, Jia Yan showed little reaction, nor did Huangfu. They merely nodded.

Before their arrival, a group of secondary powerhouses and dignitaries from Wu Ci’s Forces had lined up respectfully, eager to welcome them back.

Now that Jia Yan had grown into a nearly invincible figure in their eyes, they couldn’t imagine confronting him with anything less than reverence.

Those who had once insulted or doubted him now bowed their heads lower than ever, fearing their words might earn them his wrath.

”Focus on repairing the star body. I’ll assist Lord Huangfu with his recovery.”

With that, Jia Yan and Lord Huangfu made their way to Huangfu’s quarters at the center of the star body.

Both expressed some disappointment towards the remaining creatures of Wu Ci’s Forces, their dissatisfaction subtly reflected in their demeanor.

”You’re giving me an Intermediate Repair Cream? That’s only issued during large-scale Genius Battlefields! Could it be...”

When Jia Yan handed over certain medical supplies, Lord Huangfu’s eyes almost bulged out of their sockets.

To someone like Huangfu, many of these resources were treasures they might never see in their lifetime, akin to divine elixirs.

”This is too valuable. Some of these items... I don’t even know their names. I can’t imagine how you acquired them, but they must’ve come at great personal cost. I can’t accept this.”

”Lord Huangfu, when I first arrived at the Genius Battlefield, you showed me great kindness and support. These are just tokens of my gratitude. Besides, Wu Ci’s Forces and yourself suffered harm because of my actions. If you don’t accept these, I won’t be able to ease my conscience.”

At Jia Yan’s insistence, Lord Huangfu reluctantly accepted the gifts.

Among the resources provided were substances to boost strength that Jia Yan couldn’t use himself. Many of these had been rewards from Er Long’s Forces during the Genius Battlefields—items utterly out of reach for someone like Lord Huangfu, and likely to bring tremendous improvements to his power.

Of course, Jia Yan didn’t explicitly state this.

”Jia Yan, what are your plans next?” After some back-and-forth, Lord Huangfu changed the subject.

”Naturally, we’re heading straight for Er Tian’s Forces headquarters.” Jia Yan’s Compound Eyes glinted with a cold light as he spoke decisively.
