Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1361: Chapter 14 Legendary Genius! [Request for official subscription]

”What’s going on? He’s clearly just a country bumpkin, while I’m the genius chosen to become a disciple in the Tianhe Force. How could this happen?”

Xiaoya slumped, staring blankly at the frantic Lion Monster making communications inside the battleship. She was utterly bewildered.

This was not at all what she had envisioned!

Back in the 132 Star Zone, she always knew she was different from other beings. Even among the Intermediate Genius monsters sharing the same Star Zone, she looked down on them. She understood she had already secured a spot in the Central Star Area, an opportunity those ordinary geniuses could never dream of.

When she first met Jia Yan, she disdained him as well. Later, Jia Yan displayed talents worthy of a High-level Genius, but she always believed High-level Genius types were a dime a dozen in the Central Star Area. To her, Jia Yan would be just another rootless wanderer—a nobody compared to her.

But what she was witnessing now left her completely dazed.

Jia Yan, upon arriving at the Central Star Area, should have had his status crushed beneath her feet. Yet why was the Senior Lion Monster showing such profound respect towards him?

Everything seemed like a replay of what had happened back in the 132 Star Zone.

Jia Yan himself appeared rather startled. Not until the Lion Monster finished arranging everything did Jia Yan begin to make sense of the situation.

Not long after, a massive battleship arrived in this desolate stretch of the starry sky.

”You must be Mister Jia Yan. I am a Foreign Affairs Elder of the Tianhe Force. My apologies for arriving late—please forgive my oversight.”

A creature whose very appearance exuded extraordinariness descended from the colossal battleship—far larger than even the Adisa—and as it did, the entire battleship lit up in radiant displays, as though ushering in an honored guest.

Jia Yan assessed the Half-permanent Star Genius before him, his expression momentarily stunned.

The opponent was evidently a Secondary Powerhouse of Half-permanent Star level. Despite the Elder’s kind demeanor, Jia Yan realized that if this creature chose to attack, he could single-handedly decimate the forces of the 132 Star Zone.

Jia Yan was absolutely no match.

He hurried forward. ”Senior, I apologize for the disturbance caused by my rash visit. I deeply regret any inconvenience.”

Jia Yan maintained a respectful attitude toward the Elder, which seemed to please the latter, who nodded and invited Jia Yan aboard the enormous Reception Battleship.

”Why are you still gawking? A High-level Genius—you should have immediately clarified when you first made contact with me! You almost got me killed! Do you even understand what it means for someone to be a High-level Genius?”

Outside among the comparatively small battleship fleet, the Lion Monster noticed the Mermaid Monster Xiaoya still staring blankly as Jia Yan was whisked away by the extraordinary Half-permanent Star Elder. The Lion Monster erupted in fury.

”Uh, Senior, may I ask something? Aren’t High-level Geniuses supposed to be common in the Central Star Area? Why are you treating Jia Yan so exceptionally? Did I come to the wrong place?” Xiaoya asked begrudgingly.

”Haha, common? You little Mermaid Clan brat, did you scramble your brain in the Star Transmitter Channel? High-level Geniuses may be more numerous in advanced Star Zones, but they are not overflowing, and central-area factions like our Tianhe Force have exceedingly few. Every High-level Genius that comes by, we must earnestly win them over—do you understand?”

”Every High-level Genius must be courted earnestly, yet I, just an Intermediate Genius, am relegated to servitude? This... ” Xiaoya nearly couldn’t bear this reality.

”You’re new here—you’ll come to understand. The impact of each High-level Genius—especially on small forces like ours—is enormous. Naturally, to major powers and apex factions, a High-level Genius might not mean much. For now, observe and learn. Got it? If you offend a High-level Genius from within this force, you’d be doomed, especially if they’re a top-tier High-level Genius. One disparaging remark from them, and you’d be dead within seconds.”

”A top-tier High-level Genius could kill me with a mere comment?!” Xiaoya was thoroughly shaken, as she recalled that Jia Yan, according to Lord Longta—a Stellar-level elite—seemed to be precisely such a top-tier talent.

The Lion Monster dismissed Xiaoya’s astonishment. Once she boarded the battleship, he swiftly activated its engines.

Meanwhile, aboard the grand Reception Battleship up ahead, Jia Yan was seated with the Half-permanent Star Elder of the Tianhe Force.

”Haha, Mister Jia Yan, we arrived in haste and could only deploy this single Reception Ship. I hope you don’t mind.”

The Elder, sensing Jia Yan’s indifference—especially knowing Jia Yan hailed from the Border Star Area—understood that even this grand battleship would suffice to impress him. Thus, he began testing the waters with some deliberate probing.

”I heard from my subordinates that Mister Jia Yan came from the 132 Star Zone. May I ask which Stellar Senior recognized your talent?”

”Yes, I came from the 132 Star Zone. My talent was endorsed by Senior Longta,” Jia Yan replied.

”Senior Longta? Ah, so it was him. Over a century ago, when I first entered the Genius Battlefield, his reputation was already widely known. At the time, Lord Longta was a formidable Half-permanent Star-level High-level Genius. To be acknowledged by Lord Longta—your capabilities must undoubtedly be exceptional!”

Upon hearing Jia Yan’s response, the Elder believed him partially.

The official Genius Battlefield in the Central Star Area tends to redefine arriving talents, marking distinctions between High-level and top-tier Geniuses. Such assessments are taken extremely seriously.

This is something that cannot be falsified. The talent recognition in Central Star factions can be verified effortlessly—it is simple to test, especially when High-level Genius combat prowess is overwhelmingly oppressive.

Therefore, hearing Jia Yan’s reply, the Half-permanent Star Genius grew increasingly excited.

A talent newly arrived in the Central Area of the Genius Battlefield often ends up joining the first faction they encounter. Although the Tianhe Force had a few High-level Geniuses, their numbers were inadequate. Recruiting a newcomer like Jia Yan would be a dream come true.

Jia Yan sensed these intentions but refrained from agreeing, as he had more pressing matters to attend to.

”What—you’re here to challenge the Stellar Academy’s Geniuses?!”

When Jia Yan revealed his purpose for visiting the Central Star Area, the Half-permanent Star-level Elder was so floored that he jumped to his feet from his reclining posture!

He scrutinized Jia Yan, the shock in his expression strikingly evident.

The Genius Battlefield’s external battles, those representing the battlefield against competitors from Stellar Academy, are reserved for the crème de la crème of High-level Geniuses. These contests have implications for the faction’s reputation, so ordinary High-level Geniuses aren’t allowed to participate.

Of course, participation by top-tier Geniuses is rare, as they are deemed the treasures of both the Genius Battlefield and Stellar Academy. Their raw abilities are often confidential, and they seldom compete.

Still, those chosen to fight must be near-unstoppable within their rank, exalted by Stellar-level entities as the supreme existences of their grade.

And Jia Yan was one of them?!

To the Half-permanent Star Genius Elder, Jia Yan’s status seemed akin to legend.

”Mister Jia Yan, my deepest apologies. I was unaware you were an iconic hero representing the Genius Battlefield in external battles. Had I known, I would have dispatched our entire fleet of Reception Ships to welcome you.”

”Uh, that’s too much, Senior. There’s no need for such extravagance,” Jia Yan replied, startled. He shook his head hastily.

Jia Yan’s intent was merely to connect with Lord Longta and avoid excessively disrupting others.

”Mister Jia Yan’s matters are urgent. I will arrange everything immediately. Once you’ve arrived at our headquarters, you’ll be able to contact a Stellar Senior.”

At that, the Half-permanent Star Elder promptly began dialing various communication codes. Even in the Central Star Area, a faction requesting direct correspondence with Genius Battlefield officials was challenging, especially for modest forces like the Tianhe Force.

The Elder’s entire body trembled as he operated.

He couldn’t possibly remain calm!

This was a Genius capable of joining external battles—and Genius Battlefield officials would never send out an unqualified talent to represent their faction. If Jia Yan had earned Lord Longta’s respect, it meant his talent was among the pinnacle of High-level Geniuses.

For the Tianhe Force, which lacked even Intermediate Genius talents, let alone top-tier High-level ones, recruiting Jia Yan would be an unprecedented coup.

”A top-tier High-level Genius... a figure of legend. A High-level Genius of the highest echelon, one step away from becoming a Stellar entity—and destined to excel even at that rank.”

The Half-permanent Star Genius seemed mesmerized.

As he completed his calls, his speech became stammering, as if his composure was scattering. Fortunately, he was far from Jia Yan, using his Brainwave Power to block communication, or he’d risk embarrassing himself.

Those receiving his calls weren’t much better off. Learning that the Elder had personally welcomed such a prodigious High-level Genius freshly arrived in the Central Area erupted chaos among the factions he contacted.

Sometime later, the Reception Battleship glided steadily yet quickly toward a cluster of settlement stars.

”So this is the faction residential zone within the Central Star Area?!”

Gazing through the bridge at the views outside, Jia Yan’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Before him stretched an expanse nearly a million kilometers wide, teeming with starry bodies—some designated as Commercial Stars, some as Weapon Stars for Combat Professionals, and others as Life Stars for residential purposes.

The celestial arrangement of hundreds and thousands of Star Bodies utterly dwarfed the 251 Star Zone’s Wu Ci Power, whose faction boasted merely one primary planet. It was no less primitive by comparison.

”The sheer number of Strong Ones is astonishing!”

Jia Yan observed the stars traversed by individuals—ranging from Battleships to Solo Fighters. Whether Half-permanent Star, Secondary Powerhouse, or even lower-ranked dignitaries, beings of varying strength were zipping from star to star.
